Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2148: Chapter 1637: The Second Match

Cooper forced himself to be gracious and admitted that Bai Xiaosheng had won the first round. The guests present, led by the musician, once again gave Bai Xiaosheng a warm applause.

Genuinely impressed!

Bai Yuefeng glanced at Jessica. This time, Jessica was silent, her head down.

Bai Yuefeng couldn’t help but feel delighted.

You wouldn’t acknowledge that Bai Xiaosheng won with his vocal skills, insisting he use instruments according to the rules. Well, now he’s performed every piece for you, whether it’s legitimate piano music or played on various instruments.

Cooper probably can’t even do that!

Is she helping Cooper or does she just think Cooper isn’t embarrassed enough...

Bai Yuefeng really wanted to interview her ”good” friend.

”Can we proceed to the second round, Mr. Cooper?” Bai Xiaosheng smiled and asked Cooper as everyone watched.

Cooper’s eyelid twitched slightly involuntarily before he forced a laugh, ”Sure! But this time I won’t hold back!”

That sounded as if he had gone easy on Bai Xiaosheng earlier.

Bai Yuefeng couldn’t help but roll her eyes at him.

Lin Weiwei had already rolled her eyes.

Beside her, Lei Ying snickered.

”Mr. Cooper seems to be provoked, he’s going to be serious,” York couldn’t help but say to Lin Weiwei, ”Mr. Cooper is highly talented. If he gets serious, your friend is probably in for a tough time. This time, he’s bound to lose!”

Even now, York was still optimistic about Cooper.

Lin Weiwei was not convinced by these words, looking at him with a frown, ”Mr. York, would you care to bet with me?”

”Bet on what?” York was immediately pleased to get the attention of this Huaxia beauty.

”I’ll bet my friend wins, you bet on Cooper. Whoever loses has to eat that table!” Lin Weiwei glared at him, ”Good for shutting that blabbering mouth of yours!”

York’s smile froze, but he still chuckled lightly, muttering, ”I might not lose...”

Lin Weiwei simply ignored him.

On the other side, Cooper was contemplating.

He had underestimated the difficulty of the first test, thinking that such a high level of musical ability wasn’t something everyone had, not expecting that the guy’s vocal prowess would surpass his own.

”This is just a coincidence! This time, he won’t be so lucky! And I won’t let that kind of luck fall on him again!” Cooper calculated his areas of expertise in his mind.

He had four bachelor’s degrees; music and appreciation were acquired to complement his high society status, while business and management were for handling the family business.

Cooper prided himself as a business prodigy, a highly skilled manager.

But how could he compete with someone in business and management?

With a market and big data analysis?

A challenge in talent management and utilization?

These aren’t suitable for public competition.

Normal business and management concepts and views don’t really have a clear winner; a result is needed to determine victory, but that can’t be achieved in the short term.

As Cooper hesitated, he inadvertently saw Bai Yuefeng and suddenly had an idea.

He had another degree in ”art and art appraisal,” and just so happened to have something suitable!

Cooper waved over a trusted aide, whispered a few words, and that person nodded repeatedly before quickly leaving.

”I have something I’d like this gentleman to appraise. If he can do so to my satisfaction, admitting I’m wrong, then I’ll concede,” Cooper smiled and said.

Bai Xiaosheng raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

However, Lin Weiwei couldn’t hold back and said loudly, ”How would you define ’to your satisfaction’? How can it be considered that you agree? Mr. Cooper, if you’re both participant and judge in this bet, isn’t that unfair!”

To Lin Weiwei, this bet seemed utterly ridiculous.

No matter how thoroughly Bai Xiaosheng spoke, if Cooper just said it was wrong, would it still count as his win!

Facing Lin Weiwei’s frank questioning, even York couldn’t help but admire her.

This beauty truly dared to speak the truth publicly.

The guests all glanced at Lin Weiwei, then at Cooper, whispering amongst themselves.

In fact, when Cooper said those words, many people had similar thoughts, just not daring to voice them.

Facing Lin Weiwei’s question, Cooper wasn’t angry but smiled, ”I haven’t finished yet, please be patient and listen, miss.”

Lin Weiwei maintained a cold expression and said nothing.

”As for this item, of course, I’ll make my own evaluation, but since it belongs to me, there’s a bias, so I’d like to speak last.”

”If this gentleman’s explanation is perfectly accurate, saying what I intended to say, then naturally there’s no need for me to speak and I’ll admit defeat.”

”If our explanations differ and no one can judge whose appraisal is more accurate, no matter, I can contact the seller of the item. They’ll provide an authoritative appraisal to determine whose words are most fitting!”

Cooper smiled, ”Of course, you might say I still have an advantage, after all, who buys something without prior knowledge.”

”So I emphasize again, if this gentleman can say something that I agree with, leaving me speechless, he wins!”

Cooper repeated this painstakingly for everyone to hear, aiming to ensure all recognized that he wasn’t at an advantage in this matter.

However, it still made it hard for people to fully believe.

Lin Weiwei opened her mouth to speak, but then she heard Bai Xiaosheng say, ”Mr. Cooper, I agree with your method. Let’s bring it out.”

Bai Xiaosheng agreed!

From the beginning, Bai Xiaosheng displayed an unconcerned demeanor, seemingly indifferent to fairness of the method or content, which was rather surprising.

Actually, to Bai Xiaosheng, the greatest unfairness lay with him, not Cooper.

After all, he had Red Lotus as a strong assistant, while Cooper was truly ”open and aboveboard”...

Unfortunately, others didn’t know.

Many still thought Cooper had the advantage, and admired Bai Xiaosheng’s ”fearless” display while also casting sympathetic glances at him.

York, too, smacked his lips, looking at the table as he said to Lin Weiwei, ”Such a large table, it must be hard to swallow. I do cherish beauty, so if you lose, don’t eat the table; I’ll treat you to a drink instead.”

Lin Weiwei ignored him.

Before long, Cooper’s trusted aide returned.

He held a square box covered with a red velvet cloth and even had a high table specially brought over.

The aide placed the box covered in the cloth firmly on the table, then stepped back respectfully.

Cooper walked over, looked at the item in front of him, and smilingly said to Bai Yuefeng, ”Actually, this time, to express my admiration for you, I prepared a gift, which is this item! It’s for the elders in your family!”

Cooper then looked at everyone and unhurriedly said, ”I know that ordinary jewelry is too clichéd, and Yuefeng wouldn’t like it. So this item is something I acquired with great effort!”

”It is from Huaxia, a top-tier craft, representing the highest level of a Great Master!”

”I spent a whopping ten million US Dollars to get it!”

Cooper spoke with grandeur and mystique.

The crowd immediately showed respect.

It was well-known that Mr. Cooper frequently visited auction houses, so it was assumed that this item was also purchased at auction!

Everyone couldn’t help but be eager to witness the treasure hidden under that red cloth.

Seeing all eyes turned towards him, including Bai Yuefeng’s own curious gaze, Cooper was thoroughly pleased.

He reached out and pulled the red cloth off the box.

Everyone instantly focused their gaze.

Bai Xiaosheng seeing the item beneath it, suddenly froze, with a peculiar expression.

This, is the item Cooper is holding in such high regard?
