Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2138: Chapter 1629: Wen Yan, Once Again

On the second day of Bai Xiaosheng’s arrival at Ganande, he went to the Zhenbei Group headquarters. He first visited the Asia Division, after all, it was his ”old home,” his main base.

Jiang Kuo was very pleased to see Bai Xiaosheng.

And Bai Xiaosheng also learned that during his incident in South America, Jiang Kuo at the headquarters gave him immense support, even at the risk of his own future.

Bai Xiaosheng was very grateful to Jiang Kuo.

The two of them talked for a good half an hour.

Bai Xiaosheng also learned from Jiang Kuo how the high-level meeting hosted by Wen Yan went that day.

After chatting, Bai Xiaosheng informed Jiang Kuo that he still needed to visit Wen Yan.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Kuo promptly urged Bai Xiaosheng to go and quietly advised him on some matters.

Coming out of Jiang Kuo’s office, Bai Xiaosheng didn’t leave immediately. He visited the offices below to greet Executive Officer Fang Beijun, Sophia, and others.

Nowadays, Bai Xiaosheng was not the same as before, yet he still remembered everyone, maintaining his easygoing demeanor. Everyone was both happy and touched.

Moreover, everyone was sincerely respectful and admiring of Bai Xiaosheng’s rapid promotion.

After meeting with everyone, Bai Xiaosheng quickly went to the most mysterious department of the group headquarters—the Inspection Department!

According to Jiang Kuo, that department occupied three entire floors in the headquarters’ skyscraper.

Among those three floors, the middle one was Wen Yan’s office area.

Yesterday, Bai Xiaosheng also contacted Wen Yan to arrange a morning meeting.

While taking the elevator up, Bai Xiaosheng purposely checked the time; he was a quarter of an hour early, so he figured he would have to wait.

When the elevator arrived, Bai Xiaosheng stepped out with Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying, only to see a man and a woman waiting there, smiling at him.

Seeing Bai Xiaosheng, the two bowed slightly and said with a smile, ”Mr. Bai, please come with us. Mr. Wen Yan said you can go over at any time without waiting!”

The statement clearly showed how much Wen Yan valued Bai Xiaosheng!

Bai Xiaosheng was momentarily stunned, then smiled and nodded.

As for whether these two had been waiting here or whether the Inspection Department had stationed people in other departments to pass the message...

Bai Xiaosheng didn’t ask, guessing that even if he did, the welcoming duo would stay tight-lipped, as that was the rule of their department after all.

Following the guides, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions walked through the area, which didn’t appear very different from other floors, though it was noticeably quieter. The people in the corridor moved briskly, focused on their tasks. Few stopped to communicate, and even those who did spoke in hushed tones, adding a slight air of tension.

”So this is the Inspection Department!” Bai Xiaosheng observed silently.

They walked for several minutes before stopping in front of a room. The door was unassuming, and the long walls on either side had no other doors. This office seemed sizable.

The two guides knocked gently, and upon hearing a response from inside, they opened the door and gestured respectfully for Bai Xiaosheng to enter.

Bai Xiaosheng exchanged a glance with Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying before walking in alone.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying stayed outside.

After entering, Bai Xiaosheng realized the office was not as large as he imagined, even smaller than his office in Linshen.

However, there were doors on either wall of the office, indicating it was a special suite connected left and right.

The more confidential inner area was likely for storing various very valuable files, exclusively for Wen Yan to consult...

With just a glance, the office was simply but tastefully decorated, looking very comfortable.

Behind the desk, someone stood up with a smile upon seeing him enter.

Beside him were an elderly white man and a woman dressed as a maid.

”Long time no see, Bai Xiaosheng!” the person standing up said with a smile.

It was Wen Yan.

Behind him, the elderly white man Huang and the maid Ruan Yu, each with a calm or slightly aloof expression, acknowledged Bai Xiaosheng politely.

”Long time no see, Mr. Wen Yan!” Bai Xiaosheng smiled back.

From Jiang Kuo, Bai Xiaosheng also learned how Wen Yan had supported him at the highest-level meetings at headquarters.

Bai Xiaosheng was deeply appreciative.

Wen Yan walked over from behind the desk, issuing several orders, ”Ruan Yu, make some tea. Huang, inform downstairs that I won’t be working today!”

The two acted immediately upon hearing the instructions.

Bai Xiaosheng met him halfway, laughing, ”Mr. Wen Yan, you’re too courteous!”

”You’re the one being courteous! It’s been a while, your formal address sounds awkward; just use my name! This isn’t a formal occasion. Come, have a seat!” Wen Yan affectionately pulled Bai Xiaosheng toward the sofa area.

Wen Yan had a certain sternness toward others but treated Bai Xiaosheng like a warm breeze.

Bai Xiaosheng also had a very positive impression of him.

After a few words, they conversed like old friends.

Once Huang and Ruan Yu finished their tasks and left, only the two of them remained, making conversation easy.

After discussing Bai Xiaosheng’s experiences in South America, Wen Yan spoke with emotion, ”You’ve been through a lot! However, you’re truly a wonderful person! Rest assured, enduring hardships will lead to great fortune!”

Bai Xiaosheng chuckled, ”Isn’t fortune already here? I’m here to be your assistant. When can I officially report to you, boss?”

”Aren’t we already starting now?” Wen Yan spread his hands, smiling, ”Let’s consider this it.”

Bai Xiaosheng paused, then laughed, ”This is indeed quite unique.”

They both shared a knowing smile.

”By the way, later I’ll take you to meet the other vice presidents. Hmm, there are only four of them here at headquarters right now, but it doesn’t matter. You’ve met Lu Cheng’an and Li Yunyuan before, right?” Wen Yan smiled.

Bai Xiaosheng nodded.

When he first came to headquarters, he met those two elders and had a great impression of them. They should also have a favorable impression of him.

Jiang Kuo mentioned that they had praised his reforms in the Greater China Region multiple times.

”The other two, one of them is Mr. Morgan,” Wen Yan said meaningfully, ”Jiang Kuo should have mentioned him to you.”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded without hesitation.

”Mr. Morgan is quite displeased with our Inspection Department.” Wen Yan said, ”Moreover, he isn’t too fond of the Asia Division either!”

”Why?” Bai Xiaosheng asked curiously.

Wen Yan let out a rare cold laugh, ”Originally, his family tried to stir things up in the Asian financial sector but was suppressed by various alliances. Our companies in the Greater China Region also helped to counter his family, not specifically targeting him. However, Morgan is someone who holds grudges.”

Wen Yan paused for a moment, saying, ”Morgan wields significant power in our group. The South America region is his domain, so he spared no effort in backing Landvo, hoping to make a comeback.”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded slightly.

It seemed that he had clipped Mr. Morgan’s significant wings, ensuring further animosity.

”Besides, there’s another major regional division under Morgan’s control!” Wen Yan continued.

Bai Xiaosheng listened intently.

”North America Division, which is currently his loyal supporter!” Wen Yan said gravely, adding with emotion, ”The president of the North America Division, Caroline, is not someone to easily cross!”

Bai Xiaosheng was taken aback, suddenly at a loss for words.

Wen Yan wasn’t aware that he might have already had some ”displeasure” with that person...
