Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2139: Chapter 1630: A Busy Day

Wen Yan mentioned Morgan and Caroline, and seeing a slight change in Bai Xiaosheng’s expression, he immediately stopped talking.

”Am I, putting pressure on you?” Wen Yan couldn’t help but ask with a smile.

Wen Yan thought Bai Xiaosheng was worried because he had just dragged Landvo into trouble and came from the Asia-Pacific Division, which might seriously offend Vice Chairman Morgan, causing him stress.

This was inevitable. If Wen Yan put himself in the same situation, he would have the same concerns and worries.

He didn’t know that Bai Xiaosheng had also had some ”unpleasantness” with Caroline...

”To be honest, a bit.” Bai Xiaosheng candidly admitted.

After all, who wants to make unnecessary enemies at the headquarters, especially among the top people?

Currently, less than four years remain in Bai Xiaosheng’s inheritance journey, and he has to race against time for promotion. Where does he have the energy to engage in intrigue with people in such high positions?

Wen Yan looked at Bai Xiaosheng and smiled, comforting him, ”Regarding Vice Chairman Morgan, I don’t think you need to worry too much. After all, the group has seven vice chairmen, and Mr. Morgan is just one of them. The other vice chairmen won’t let him act too... extravagantly. What I just said may have been exaggerated. In fact, in the South American region and the North American region, only Landvo in the South American region is his staunch supporter. The head of the North American region, Caroline... this woman is merely in a cooperative relationship with Mr. Morgan because of their familial ties. When it comes to some major internal issues within the group, Caroline may not be firmly on his side. Moreover, after Morgan just protected Landvo, it wouldn’t be appropriate for him to do anything excessive towards you again. Besides, you are my second-in-command in the Inspection Department now. This position is no child’s play!”

As Wen Yan said this, he, who was always so gentle in front of Bai Xiaosheng, showed a hint of pride and dominance on his face.

Bai Xiaosheng naturally had heard about it from Jiang Kuo.

In terms of level, the second-in-command of the Inspection Department, regardless of rank, is nearly equivalent to the divisional president in terms of prestige and power, to the point where even the latter must show some reverence.

As for the first-in-command, they are directly comparable to the vice-chairman level.

Bai Xiaosheng was indeed very curious about how Wen Yan had managed to secure such a position.

Of course, this wasn’t the time to ask.

”Hearing you say that, I feel much more at ease now.” Bai Xiaosheng said with a smile, then curiously added, ”Judging by your words, Caroline isn’t fully aligned with Morgan. Could she be associated with other vice chairmen?”

Wen Yan smiled, took a sip of tea, and said leisurely, ”That’s not something to rush. You’ll find out naturally in the future.”

”I can only say that Morgan allows her to be this way. It just goes to show this woman is not simple.” Wen Yan sighed.

Bai Xiaosheng silently sighed in his heart.

Look at my luck, getting involved with anyone who isn’t simple...

And not in a good way...

Hopefully, Caroline’s brother Robert didn’t say anything chaotic to his sister after going back yesterday.

”It’s also fortunate that when I mentioned my name to Robert, I only told him ’Bai’.” Bai Xiaosheng felt a small sense of relief and secretly hoped that Caroline wouldn’t investigate further into that ’Bai’.

Wen Yan put down his teacup, glanced at the time, and said to Bai Xiaosheng, ”It’s about time. I’ll take you around to meet the vice chairmen. After all, you are my second-in-command in the Inspection Department, and you must pay a formal visit to the vice chairmen.”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded immediately, putting aside those irrelevant thoughts.

”By the way, I see you brought your attendants, the same two as before. They must be trustworthy. I’ve already asked Huang and Ruan Yu to take them to handle some related procedures. However, there are still some things that you’ll need to take care of in the next few days. Once all that’s done, you’ll officially be my deputy, the rightful second-in-command of our Inspection Department!” Wen Yan added.

”Thank you for the trouble!” Bai Xiaosheng expressed his gratitude.

Wen Yan smiled, ”You’re holding two positions. I hope in the next year or two, you’ll establish new achievements and open our eyes, and come to the headquarters as soon as possible. But by then, you’re likely to advance another level, which would be at the vice-chairman level. Even I’d have to work under you!”

Wen Yan seemed to be joking.

Bai Xiaosheng also responded with a smile, saying he didn’t dare. But he knew in his heart that this was indeed his path.

Then, Wen Yan took Bai Xiaosheng out of the Inspection Department to visit the offices of the vice chairmen.

It’s said that each of the seven vice chairmen occupies an entire floor in the skyscraper of the headquarters.

Vice chairman offices, attendants’ offices, private kitchens, private gyms...

Everything imaginable is there, the most luxurious setup.

Wen Yan also introduced this to Bai Xiaosheng along the way, stating that it was Old Chairman Bai Zhenbei who set it up for everyone, considering their hard work and advanced age.

Additionally, each vice chairman holds a substantial amount of shares in the group, making them major company shareholders.

Bai Xiaosheng naturally nodded, feeling emotional.

To serve as a vice chairman at Zhenbei Group’s headquarters is truly a lifetime iron rice bowl.

Wen Yan took Bai Xiaosheng to first meet Lu Cheng’an and Li Yunyuan.

These two vice chairmen, one with a kind and pleasant demeanor, the other stern and unsmiling, were both upright individuals and most respected by Wen Yan.

They had met Bai Xiaosheng before, and today, upon meeting again, they weren’t strangers.

”Good lad, indeed impressive! Not only has he made the Greater China Region flourish, setting an example for other divisions of the group, but also rectified wrongs and unearthed hidden troubles within the group. Excellent!” When Lu Cheng’an saw Bai Xiaosheng, he didn’t hold back his praises.

Even afterwards, at Li Yunyuan’s place, the usually reserved Li Yunyuan commended Bai Xiaosheng a bit, encouraging him to keep up the good work.

After coming out from the two vice chairmen, Wen Yan jested with Bai Xiaosheng about receiving affirmations from both vice chairmen, suggesting that his future held boundless possibilities and that he should seize the opportunity to keep advancing, as he is sure to reach new heights.

To this, Bai Xiaosheng responded with a smile.

After visiting Vice Chairmen Lu Cheng’an and Li Yunyuan, it was already two in the afternoon. Wen Yan took Bai Xiaosheng to the company’s internal restaurant for a meal.

Meals for senior management were of Michelin three-star standard, though Wen Yan laughingly remarked that the private chefs of the vice chairmen were the truly top-notch ones.

Bai Xiaosheng joked that if given the chance, he’d definitely want to try it out.

After a brief rest, Wen Yan took Bai Xiaosheng to the third vice chairman’s office.

This one also acknowledged Bai Xiaosheng’s accomplishments, although not as genuinely pleased as Lu Cheng’an and Li Yunyuan.

Finally, Wen Yan took Bai Xiaosheng to meet Mr. Morgan.

Upon arriving there, Bai Xiaosheng immediately noticed that Mr. Morgan’s office was far more elaborately decorated and luxurious than the other three vice chairmen’s. All the furnishings were priceless authentic pieces, even the teacups and saucers were from a set of rare Huaxia Ruyao porcelain, of exceedingly high value.

Mr. Morgan’s smile at Bai Xiaosheng was unsettling, praising Bai Xiaosheng as ”daring and decisive”, yet his words seemed both complimenting and veiled with admonition, implying Bai Xiaosheng should perform well in the future, while exuding a faintly threatening undertone.

Such depth of cunning is indeed rare, making one feel an enormous sense of oppression.

Even Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but take a deep breath after leaving his office.

Wen Yan didn’t say a word, merely giving Bai Xiaosheng a bitter smile and shrugging his shoulders.

Even he felt suppressed.

When this round of visits was finally concluded, it was already the end of the workday, and Wen Yan still had plenty of issues to deal with, as he had spent an entire day for Bai Xiaosheng.

Bai Xiaosheng immediately took his leave.

In the coming days, Bai Xiaosheng still had some procedures to handle at headquarters and other things to attend to, but that’s a story for another time.

Joining Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying on the way back, Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but show signs of fatigue.

Each of today’s meetings required mental and physical effort. At this moment, Bai Xiaosheng was solely thinking of having a good rest.

Yet, just then, a phone call came through.

It was Bai Yuefeng.

”Hey, Bai Xiaosheng, you haven’t forgotten our agreement, right? Why haven’t you called me!” Bai Yuefeng said assertively over the phone.

Bai Xiaosheng held his forehead, he had really forgotten.

However, now he ”remembered” again.

”Honestly, you will come, right!” Bai Yuefeng asked.

Bai Xiaosheng gritted his teeth, ”Yeah, I promised, so of course... I have to go!”
