Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 888: Chapter 888: Only Two Points?!

Bai Xiaosheng and the others left ”Song Time,” walking on the warm and crisp evening streets.

Bai Xiaosheng walked ahead in silence, hands clasped behind his back.

Three women followed, with Lei Ying bringing up the rear.

The atmosphere was delicate, and Lei Ying acutely sensed it.

Thus, he prudently chose to maintain a ”safe” distance to avoid getting involved later on.

After a while, the three women probably felt that continuing in such a stifling and somewhat awkward silence was unbearable.

”Miss Jiang, you have quite the way with words. What you said back there was so satisfying! In fact, that’s exactly how I feel! It’s just that, because of my position, there are some things I can’t say!”

Lin Weiwei took the initiative to approach Jiang Yue, smiled, and praised her.

Jiang Yue was a woman who easily swelled with pride upon receiving compliments, especially coming from someone like Lin Weiwei, a beautiful woman with the air of a corporate elite. She was floating on air.

”Where, where! That’s too much praise!” Jiang Yue said cheerfully, ”I also can’t stand it! What’s that about? Officials can set fires but the common folk can’t even light a candle. And, I couldn’t let your Xiaosheng suffer a loss.”

Lin Weiwei liked hearing that.

”Jiang Yue, I just couldn’t say the things you said,” Su Lingyu couldn’t help but express to Jiang Yue, ”But listening to them, it really is satisfying!”

Jiang Yue looked at her in surprise.

”Xiaoyu, I thought you’d blame me. Just now, I embarrassed your senior,” Jiang Yue said with a smile.

Su Lingyu shrugged and smiled, ”Even if they are my seniors, their actions were unfair. I support you.”

Following that, Su Lingyu smiled at Lin Weiwei, ”I also support Miss Lin’s approach!”

She expressed her support for Lin Weiwei’s submission of their team’s investigation report.

Lin Weiwei returned Su Lingyu’s smile, ”It’s rare for Miss Su to be so profoundly just and fair!”

The three women indeed came to an understanding.

”All this Miss Jiang, Miss Su, Miss Lin, it sounds so distant and also a bit odd,” Jiang Yue suddenly said, ”I think, since we get along, let’s not be so formal. Calling each other by names or nicknames is fine.”

”Sure.”

”Alright.”

The three women quickly agreed.

Bai Xiaosheng in front felt helpless and looked back at them.

He had wanted to say something, but now he didn’t feel like saying anything anymore.

”Since what’s done is done, let’s leave it at that,” Bai Xiaosheng thought to himself.

He then heard Red Lotus’s reminder in his mind.

”Investigated and confirmed one General Manager of a subsidiary in the Greater China Region, with conclusive evidence and serious issues. Estimated outcome is dismissal and referral to judicial authorities.”

Based on past experience, the higher the position and the more serious the problems of those Bai Xiaosheng investigated, the more points he scored accordingly.

”You have earned six points for this. All the points earned in this phase will be increased by 20 percent, and the increase will be calculated in whole numbers. You receive an additional point this time.”

”In total, you have earned seven points.”

Not a low score at all!

Bai Xiaosheng’s mood improved significantly.

”As a substantial amount of data provided by Officer Lin Ke was used in this investigation, three points will be deducted from this score!”

Bai Xiaosheng was enjoying his happiness when he suddenly heard Red Lotus’s voice.

He was stunned for a moment.

Points deduction?

This was the first time he had encountered a deduction!

However, upon reflection, it made sense since Lin Ke indeed provided the target and a lot of data.

”Still got four points, which isn’t bad,” Bai Xiaosheng consoled himself.

”In view of this investigation, Affairs Officer Lin Yu participated and submitted a report before you, and a sanction has already been imposed on the target. Therefore, the punishment for Zhang Kai is characterized as ’supplementary report, additional sanction,’ reduced by two points!”

Bai Xiaosheng was suddenly stunned.

There’s such a thing!

Lin Yu had submitted the report first, directly costing me the remaining four and a half points!

Just... two points?!

Bai Xiaosheng’s footsteps halted, and his complexion immediately became somewhat ugly.

If they had added two points from the start, it wouldn’t have felt so bad. The key issue was they started off by informing me of a seven-point addition, then reduced it step by step down to two points.

After being busy for two days, I only got two points...

Bai Xiaosheng was speechless for a while.

”The final score obtained is two points, the current total is sixty-two points for the Affairs Officer, still thirty-eight points shy of the Senior Affairs Officer level,” Red Lotus gave the final score.

Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but exhale a heavy breath.

He felt somewhat choked up inside.

”Lin Yu, you’ve also cost me a lot, now we’re even,” Bai Xiaosheng thought to himself.

Hearing Bai Xiaosheng’s heavy sigh, as if he was in a bad mood, the three women subconsciously didn’t dare to chat too cheerfully anymore.

Finally, Bai Xiaosheng and the others took two taxis.

Su Lingyu and Jiang Yue were still heading back to their aunt’s home.

Whereas Bai Xiaosheng and his group went to a hotel.

This time, both parties agreed to stay in JinPing for two more days.

Bai Xiaosheng and his party dispersed as if nothing was wrong, naturally unaware of the significant impact they had caused.

First, the assistants in the duty room of the Affairs Department were stunned, then the duty Affairs Officers, followed by the duty Senior Affairs Officers.

Merely ten minutes later, Xiahou Qi, who was drinking tea at home, received the news.

”What do you mean Lin Yu and Bai Xiaosheng sent in investigation reports and processing suggestions for the same company and the same general manager, one after the other?” Xiahou Qi was startled when he heard the news.

However, this was just the beginning of his surprise.

”Lin Yu’s report only suggested demoting that general manager, while Bai Xiaosheng’s report, which is more serious and has more solid evidence, recommended transferring the subject of the investigation to the judiciary?” The subsequent news made Xiahou Qi frown.

He had a feeling that the problem was big.

And sure enough—

”The duty room is in an uproar, debating that Lin Yu’s sanction is too lenient and that there is a clear dereliction of duty!” Xiahou Qi fell silent.

For anyone else, a dereliction of duty wouldn’t be seen as a big deal.

But Lin Yu was different; he’s been a standard-bearer among the Affairs Officers, having created a zero-error legend over the years under Shen Peishen’s meticulous tutoring and scrutiny.

Now, the legend had been ended!

Xiahou Qi put down the phone, his brows slightly furrowed.

After a long while, he murmured to himself, ”Bai Xiaosheng, you really are a Monkey King. You, Sun Wukong, stir up the entire Affairs Department at the slightest commotion, even giving my old bones a whirl. And you’ve even put an end to Lin Yu’s legend...”

”I’m raising one standard-bearer only to knock down another,” Xiahou Qi couldn’t help but sigh softly, then he chuckled, ”However, you monkey brat... Lin Yu has Shen Peishen, if I don’t support you, who will?”

Xiahou Qi was just about to make a call to give instructions when a call came in. This time, it was from Li Haofeng.

”Elder Xia, Lin Yu has sent another application, directed to me,” Li Haofeng said.

”Oh?” Xiahou Qi was curious.

”He says he’s guilty of oversight and negligence, and is requesting punishment,” said Li Haofeng.

He too knew the whole story and sighed with regret.

”Denied! He asks for punishment over such a trivial matter as oversight; what will others do in the future,” Xiahou Qi said decisively, ”Now implement the handling suggestions for that general manager according to Bai Xiaosheng’s recommendations. This time, let’s not publicly commend Bai Xiaosheng.”

Xiahou Qi sighed, ”We also need to save some face for Lin Yu!”
