Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 873: Chapter 873: Sun Zicheng with a Brilliant Plan

At 6 p.m., in a guest room, Su Lingyu was resting.

She had arrived in JinPing with Jiang Yue yesterday, dragged by Jiang Yue to attend a cocktail party.

They were currently staying at Jiang Yue’s aunt’s house.

Jiang Yue burst into the room, gleefully showing off her outfit, ”Does it look good!”

The red lace umbrella dress, paired with the hairstyle Jiang Yue had gotten done during the day, made her look very elegant and feminine.

Jiang Yue’s makeup was also exceptionally exquisite, making her look cuter than ever.

”Not bad.” Su Lingyu gave a faint smile.

”Just ’not bad’?!” Jiang Yue seemed dissatisfied with such plain praise, ”You should say ’Stunningly beautiful, you enchanting little fairy.’ You know, when you compliment someone, can’t you be a bit more serious!”

Su Lingyu chuckled, shrugged her shoulders, ”I’ll remember for next time.”

”Are you still thinking about that guy who left without even leaving his contact information?” Jiang Yue sighed, sat down beside Su Lingyu, hesitated but still said, ”Actually, there’s something I’ve wanted to say. Actually, I... I like him quite a lot too.”

Jiang Yue’s tone was somewhat sheepish.

Su Lingyu smiled, ”I know.”

”You know?” Jiang Yue looked at Su Lingyu in surprise.

”Whatever’s in your heart shows on your face, how can I not see it?” Su Lingyu said with a smile, ”But what of it? Just because I like him doesn’t mean you can’t. If that were so, I’d be far too domineering.”

Jiang Yue couldn’t help but wrap her arm around Su Lingyu’s.

Childhood friend, best girlfriend, her dear sister Su Lingyu was truly a blessing in her life.

”But, that guy said he also has someone he likes!” Jiang Yue sighed softly.

Su Lingyu fell silent.

”Alright, don’t think about it anymore. If it’s meant to be, we’ll meet him again, and we can talk then! Besides, he’s not married, so neither law nor morality forbids us from pursuing happiness,” Jiang Yue said with a smile. ”And remember, we’re going to my uncle’s company party tonight, so let’s be happy and look pretty.”

Jiang Yue got up as she spoke, looked at herself in the mirror, and exclaimed, ”My brows seem a bit off, can you fix them for me, auntie?”

After shouting out, Jiang Yue dashed off like the wind.

Su Lingyu couldn’t help but smile, stood up, and looked at herself in the mirror, took a deep breath, and then slowly exhaled.

”Be happy!” Su Lingyu told her reflection.

In the living room.

Jiang Yue was having her brows done by a plump woman with round cheeks.

The woman was all smiles, ”Oh my, you’re already beautiful, my little fairy. Tonight, you plan to steal the spotlight from all the women, don’t you?”

This woman was Jiang Yue’s aunt, Jiang Yuxiu.

”How could that be? I can’t match auntie’s grace!” Jiang Yue said with a playful smile, before rushing back to show her newly-done brows to her best friend.

”Wife, come help me with my tie,” a voice sounded from the study.

”Coming.” Jiang Yuxiu shouted back and went to the study.

Inside the study, a man was adjusting his tie in the mirror.

If Bai Xiaosheng saw him, he would be amazed. This uncle of Jiang Yue’s was none other than the drunk he had seen, and he was also one of the vice presidents of Yunfeng Business Management, Sun Zicheng.

”This looks quite good as it is, why fuss over it?” Jiang Yuxiu looked it over and found it satisfactory.

”Better to make it perfect, today’s occasion is quite important,” Sun Zicheng muttered.

Two days earlier, in a strange incident, he felt as if he had fallen into a drunken dream.

In the dream, two people whose faces he couldn’t see were whispering in his ear, giving him advice.

Sun Zicheng was befuddled, catching only the gist of it.

One voice told him to report his findings, to denounce the general manager.

That was an absolute impossibility, even if it killed him he wouldn’t have the courage!

Another voice suggested he communicate with the general manager and take the fall willingly.

They say that inside a person’s mind, there are two little figures who start fussing and fuming whenever a difficult situation arises.

Sun Zicheng felt that it might have been their doing.

But upon waking up and thinking it over, the stuff was indeed gone, and if he didn’t proactively shoulder the blame, that black pot would still be his to bear.

So Sun Zicheng rushed to the general manager’s side, determined to take responsibility for the issue in one breath.

Somehow, after the initial shock, General Manager Zhang Kai didn’t berate or threaten him like before; instead, he said they would take it one step at a time and that he would try his best to protect him.

At this point, Sun Zicheng had nothing more to say.

However, under long-term ”oppression,” Sun Zicheng had also thought of a ”brilliant plan” to change the situation.

This banquet was an opportunity, and he was going to use that ”brilliant plan” to win over General Manager Zhang Kai!

Come to think of it, he had even suggested this move to his good friend Su Dazhong before.

That is—arranged marriage!

Su Lingyu and Jiang Yue were good friends, and naturally, their fathers also got along well. By a stroke of fate, Sun Zicheng got to know Su Dazhong.

Both were elites in their careers, both looking to expand their circle of friends. Moreover, though Sun Zicheng’s company had no direct dealings with Su Dazhong’s, they were still under the same conglomerate, which meant they were related.

Therefore, after back and forth interactions, Sun Zicheng and Su Dazhong naturally became friends.

Because of their similar situations, Sun Zicheng and Su Dazhong became ”good” friends who could talk about anything.

Back then, Su Dazhong simply thought that Han Xuancheng was being harsh on him because of work and felt that the Han Family wasn’t too bad. Han Chen had the looks, which was why he thought of matchmaking them.

If Su Dazhong had known then what kind of men Han Xuancheng and his son were, how they’d go to any lengths against him, he would have never agreed to hurt his own daughter.

Of course, in the end, the arranged marriage between the Su and Han families failed.

Sun Zicheng only found out yesterday when the two girls came over.

However, Su Dazhong’s misfortune turned into a blessing, which could not help but make him envious.

”This is truly a case of comparison leading to frustration!” Sun Zicheng couldn’t help but sigh.

The only unlucky one left was himself.

But the fact that Su Dazhong’s arranged marriage failed doesn’t mean the tactic itself wasn’t effective!

Throughout history, so many marriages have been arranged, whether among the wealthy, the royal families, or even between countries, this tactic has been frequently employed.

Therefore, Sun Zicheng firmly believed it was feasible.

Only, he had encouraged Su Dazhong to use this tactic with his own daughter.

Whereas the one he was going to use was—Jiang Yuxiu’s niece, Jiang Yue!

Jiang Yue could probably never imagine that her aunt and uncle inviting her so warmly to attend the banquet, even repeatedly inviting her over, and afterwards, her aunt Jiang Yuxiu taking her to get her hair done and shopping for clothes, was all for the purpose of—setting up an arranged marriage with her!

Of course, it wouldn’t be appropriate to talk about arranged marriages in this day and age, so they should use a different term—matchmaking!

Jiang Yue couldn’t even begin to fathom that her beautiful photos had already been sent to General Manager Zhang Kai by Sun Zicheng a few days before.

This time, even though Sun Zicheng made a big mistake, Zhang Kai didn’t rebuke him too harshly.

On one hand, it was because Sun Zicheng took the initiative to bear the blame, and on the other, Zhang Kai had seriously looked over Jiang Yue’s photos these past few days.

And he liked her, a lot!

Moreover, yesterday Zhang Kai had made it a special point to remind Sun Zicheng that he must bring her along.

”Is it really going to be okay to just take her up to the banquet like that? After all, you’re introducing her as a potential match, shouldn’t you speak to Yue about it first?” Jiang Yuxiu couldn’t help but say while helping her husband get ready.

She always felt that she was doing a good deed, that this was a good thing; she was seeking happiness for her niece.

Of course, it would also conveniently help her husband out of a difficult situation.

”Don’t you meddle! When the General Manager interacts with your niece, there’s a better chance sparks will fly. If you mention matchmaking, the young lady might not take kindly to it!” Sun Zicheng flatly rejected.

He was afraid that Jiang Yue would get angry and develop a resistant attitude.

”Our General Manager is a handsome and wealthy man, could a young girl possibly resist the charm of a successful man?” Sun Zicheng laughed, ”Don’t worry, this is going to work out for sure!”
