Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 853: Chapter 853: No Justice in the Workplace!

Just as Bai Xiaosheng was presenting a report to Deputy Mayor Sun and his party, at Liucheng Real Estate headquarters, in the General Manager’s office, Han Xuancheng gently knocked on the door and after receiving permission, he pushed the door and entered.

”Mr. Chen, I’m back,” Han Xuancheng said with a full smile, addressing the person behind the desk.

The person behind the desk looked to be just shy of fifty years old, not very tall, and slim, with a refined and cultured appearance.

He was the General Manager of Liucheng Real Estate—Chen Qingyun.

”Mm, good to have you back,” Chen Qingyun replied with a pleased expression, putting down his documents and beckoning him, ”Come, Han, take a seat!”

Han Xuancheng walked over and sat down opposite Chen Qingyun, his posture very upright.

It was the respectful demeanor of someone facing their superior.

Han Xuancheng, as a deputy general manager, showed every gesture and even his sitting posture highlighted his reverence and respect for his leader. With such a good attitude and being a capable subordinate, Chen Qingyun was naturally quite satisfied and always trusted him in work matters.

”Han, are you sure there won’t be any problems over there?” Chen Qingyun asked, ”Although I’m eager to submit my term report to the administrative department and need your help with that, work is still more important after all. Especially since I am still the general manager, I don’t want any oversights!”

Han Xuancheng quickly smiled, ”Look at what you’re saying, both sides are important!”

These words were very pleasant to hear. Chen Qingyun enjoyed them thoroughly.

”I left Su Dazhong in charge over there. You said he’s capable and reliable and to give him a major project as an assessment, so naturally, I assigned the most important work to him—following your instruction!”

”But rest assured! I gave him the materials early in the morning, I didn’t even eat breakfast before I ran to the project site to meet with him. I made sure he was up to the task several times before I came back! Don’t worry, Su Dazhong and I have guaranteed it!”

With Han Xuancheng’s remarks, Chen Qingyun kept nodding, exceedingly satisfied.

Han Xuancheng had always been his reliable general and also his trusted aide.

Chen Qingyun tended to believe what Han said.

”However, since Deputy Mayor Sun is visiting in person, I should probably go there myself...” Chen Qingyun couldn’t help but ask again, ”You’re sure Su Dazhong said there are no problems, and the project progress report is alright?”

Chen Qingyun was still somewhat uneasy.

However, these days the administrative department was in a hurry for the report, and he was anxious about this matter.

After all, once his term report passes, he would be directly moved up to the administrative department.

Then he could push aside all these trivial and annoying matters and relax.

Liucheng Real Estate is not a direct subsidiary company, and Chen Qingyun’s role as the general manager is also not as significant as that of the general managers of direct subsidiaries. To go to the administrative department as an administrative assistant would be a considerable step up.

Because of the company’s nature, Chen Qingyun’s successor as general manager or deputy general manager could be nominated by him to the provincial industry head. Typically, the nominations would be approved.

Chen Qingyun wanted to promote Han Xuancheng, which would be a significant connection for the future!

Currently, he wanted to settle his own matters quickly while also worrying about the meeting that was being held.

After all, he was still the general manager and mid-term, so there couldn’t be any mistakes.

Han Xuancheng smiled and consoled, ”Didn’t you already notify Deputy Mayor Sun, and I also mentioned to him that you really couldn’t get away? He expressed understanding.”

”As for Su Dazhong, in any case, he promised earnestly. You also think highly of him, so he definitely won’t be overeager and act rashly just to make a name for himself at this juncture, disregarding the big picture.”

”Besides, the project progress report was prepared by me, and I showed it to you. It’s already all set; just reading it aloud would do, there’s no difficulty in that. As long as Su Dazhong is willing to put in a little more effort before the meeting.”

By saying this, Han Xuancheng was not only reassuring Chen Qingyun but also setting a trap for Su Dazhong.

Even if afterwards, Su Dazhong complained to Chen Qingyun, he wouldn’t be worried.

Besides, as Han Xuancheng was Chen Qingyun’s favored aide and the potential successor, would Chen Qingyun care if Su Dazhong felt aggrieved?

There is no justice in the workplace!

Chen Qingyun, after hearing Han Xuancheng’s words, nodded with immense satisfaction.

”Alright, let’s not think about those things anymore. Come, Han, take a look at this, how’s my summary?”

Chen Qingyun handed the work summary he had printed out to Han Xuancheng.

Han Xuancheng flipped through two pages and slightly shook his head.

”What, you think it’s not good?” Chen Qingyun asked in surprise.

In Han’s presence, he had always been primarily supportive. A negative shake of the head from the start was a rare sight.

”Your summary won’t do!” Han Xuancheng declared decisively, ”It’s too modest! How can your achievements be so minimal? Five years of full marks in evaluations, that’s an ironclad fact, how can you allow the summary report to seem so mediocre. No, no! I will help you revise it!”

So, he felt that his report lacked self-affirmation!

Chen Qingyun’s face immediately lit up with pleasure, and he laughed heartily, ”Okay, you help me revise it properly, weigh your words, but, don’t go too far. Moderation, moderation is good!”

”Yes,” Han Xuancheng said with a smile.

While revising Chen Qingyun’s report, Han Xuancheng couldn’t help but sneer to himself as he thought about the situation elsewhere.

”Su Dazhong! You dare make my son suffer losses, dare to ruin my handiwork, and afterwards you still don’t offer any recompense? Not making it up for my loss! Then I, will ruin your prospects! If you are sensible next time, ’know to correct your mistakes,’ I may very well consider, consider forgiving you!”

”Right now, they must be at their wits’ end over there!” Han Xuancheng couldn’t help but glance at his watch on his wrist, checking the time.

By his estimate, it was about time for the project team to call this side.

He had already made it clear in advance that if there were any issues, they should directly call Chen Qingyun.

”Heh heh, in a while, Chen might just explode with fury!” Han Xuancheng was simply full of anticipation.

As Han Xuancheng was thinking, he continued to revise the printed draft with his pen, handwriting the adjustments.

It has to be said, Han Xuancheng’s handwriting was very beautiful, and he wrote quickly.

After finishing a page, Han Xuancheng would pass it to Chen Qingyun for his review.

”Goodness, good, this level of phrasing is just excellent!” Chen Qingyun said, smiling from ear to ear.

The revised report fully highlighted his achievements, yet it didn’t overstate, showing real skill.

As he was expressing his approval, Chen Qingyun’s phone rang.

”Hm? The project in Anhe District, calling me?” Chen Qingyun glanced at the number, his brows slightly furrowed, and he muttered, ”What’s the matter? Is there a problem?”

Han Xuancheng also put down his pen with a look of ”shock,” though deep within his gaze there flickered a hard-to-detect glint.

The moment he’d been waiting for had arrived!

Su Dazhong, you managed to hold up until now, not bad! Wondering what Chen will react like after hearing the news. Will he fly off the handle, slam the table and curse?

”Oh! What, say that again!” Chen Qingyun’s eyes bulged.

Han Xuancheng’s gaze was filled with expectation.

”Ha ha, good, very good! Deputy Mayor Sun leading the applause in approval? Mhm, well done!”

Chen Qingyun slapped the table and laughed heartily, extremely happy.

Han Xuancheng had already made a ”furious” expression, but when he heard this, he was taken aback.

Deputy Mayor Sun, leading the applause?

Shouldn’t it have been... fury like a thunderstorm?

Han Xuancheng quickly adjusted his expression, from anger to joy, and forced a smile.

”The initial report must have been on the recent developments in the project, that’s my report, maybe the Deputy Mayor was just satisfied with my report.”

”Furthermore, I didn’t just dig one pit for Su Dazhong!” Han Xuancheng’s eyes flashed with a ruthless gleam.
