Super Rich by Doing as You Please

The show lasted for an hour and a half.

The audience had a fantastic time, and there were no safety incidents.

After everything concluded perfectly, the crowd began to disperse.

Everyone returned in the same cars they had arrived in.

From the morning until now, the two uncles and their wives had been shocked into numbness.

They would never dare to look down on their nephew and sister again.

The things they were once so proud of were now nothing in comparison.

Unsurprisingly, at all future family gatherings, Zhang Sujuan would be the most respected relative, the one whose words carried the most weight.

It wasn’t because she was particularly formidable, but because she had a formidable son.

A mother’s status rises with her son’s success.

Back in town, after seeing her guests off, Zhang Sujuan said to Xu Yun, ”Alright, let’s head home too.”

”Auntie, we should head back to our hotel then,” Su Mu and the others said upon seeing this. ”Happy birthday, Auntie. We wish you good health.”

”Why are you leaving? You’re our guests.”

Zhang Sujuan looked at the group of beautiful women and said with a smile, ”Don’t go. Come back with me and Xu Yun. We haven’t even eaten the cake Chen Xin bought me, and I can’t possibly finish it by myself.”

”That’s right, let’s eat cake together.”

Chen Xin said, ”I bought a really big cake today.”

”Come on, let’s go. You can head back to the hotel after we’re done.”

Xu Yun added, ”It’s a rare opportunity.”

”Alright.” Su Mu and the others nodded, and they all drove back to the residential complex together.

The five of them hadn’t been here before, so they felt the same way Yu Xuan had when she first arrived.

They were a little surprised. They hadn’t expected Auntie to be living in a complex like this.

After another six-story stair-climbing workout, everyone entered Xu Yun’s apartment.

To be honest, the apartment was a bit small. With so many people arriving at once, the sofa was completely filled.

Song Xiaowei, Li Jinshu, and the others were a little confused.

Xu Yun was clearly so wealthy, so why was his mother living in a place like this?

While Zhang Sujuan was getting water for everyone, Li Jinshu asked Chen Xin, ”Why doesn’t Auntie move into a bigger place?”

”This was Xu Yun’s first home. He grew up in this very apartment.”

Chen Xin explained, ”So Auntie is attached to it and feels comfortable living here.”

”Oh, I see.”

”What about you? Where do you live?”

Chen Xin smiled. ”I live right across the hall from Auntie. I come over to bum meals whenever I can.”

”...” Li Jinshu was speechless.

’Well, I’ll be. She’s got the home-field advantage!’

’I’m completely out of the running with the Old Buddha. From now on, my only hope is that Xu Yun likes me more than he likes Chen Xin!’

After Zhang Sujuan and Xu Yun finished pouring water for everyone, they chatted for a while, getting a brief overview of everyone’s personal information, aside from Chen Xin’s.

As it turned out, she discovered that all of these women were single!

After they had chatted for a bit, Chen Xin suggested they start on the birthday cake.

Xu Yun was in charge of turning off the lights, while Chen Xin and Yu Xuan wheeled out the cake trolley.

The cake had two tiers, with two number-shaped candles on top representing Zhang Sujuan’s age.

Next, Xu Yun picked up the birthday hat from the table and put it on his mom.

Seeing this, Li Jinshu was the first to start clapping and singing the birthday song.

”Happy birthday to you~ Happy birthday to you...”

With Li Jinshu leading, the other women joined in, clapping along.

Looking at everyone before her, Zhang Sujuan’s eyes welled up with tears.

After the song was over, everyone clamored for Auntie to make a wish.

”Alright, alright, I’ll make a wish.”

Zhang Sujuan clasped her hands together, closed her eyes, and silently made a wish in her heart: ’I hope Xu Yun is happy and healthy, and I hope I can hold a big grandson soon.’

After making her wish, Zhang Sujuan opened her eyes and blew out the candles in one breath.

Xu Yun took out the gift he had prepared long ago and said, ”Mom, this is for you. Happy birthday.”

Zhang Sujuan looked at the exquisite little case and asked, puzzled, ”What did you get me?”

”Open it and see.”

Besides Xu Yun, no one else knew what the gift was.

So the other seven women were also very curious about what kind of gift Xu Yun would give his mother.

With everyone watching, Zhang Sujuan slowly opened the case.

What appeared before their eyes were rows of small gold bars, each marked with its weight in grams.

It was no exaggeration to say that the nearly nine pounds of gold completely covered the bottom layer of the case.

It wasn’t just Zhang Sujuan who was stunned; everyone else was, too.

’This much gold... at the current market price, it has to be worth over a million, right?’

Actually, this was still somewhat manageable for them. After all, they had seen Xu Yun spend hundreds of thousands without batting an eye, so they had built up some resistance.

They just never imagined Xu Yun’s birthday gift would be so... tacky.

A whole case of gold bars!

It was the first time Zhang Sujuan had ever seen so much gold, and her breathing hitched.

She looked up at her son, confused, and asked, ”Why on earth did you give me so many gold bars?”

”For you to keep. As a family treasure!”

Xu Yun smiled. ”In the future, if you want any jewelry made, you can just take one of these bars to a goldsmith.”

”But it’s so much. It’s not safe to keep at home.”

”It’s fine. Only the people here know about it. If it goes missing one day, it’s definitely because one of them blabbed.”

Xu Yun said with a grin, ”I’ll just make them pay you back.”

”...” The women were speechless.

”Alright, you. You just love to spout nonsense.”

After putting the case away, Zhang Sujuan said, ”Let’s have some cake.”

Hearing this, Yu Xuan handed her the cake knife. Zhang Sujuan made the first cut and served the first slice.
