Super Rich by Doing as You Please

The last time, it was this same crazy woman. She’d slipped in when they weren’t looking and they were immediately hit with a complaint.

They lost a whole month’s bonus!

Now she was back again, and she’d brought a man with her. There was no way they could let them in without authorization.

”I don’t know them.”

Li Jinshu denied it outright, then said to Xu Yun, ”Let’s go.”

Watching the two of them leave, the security guard understood the situation.

Even though he knew she was lying, since she herself had said she didn’t know them, they no longer had to hold back.

Previously, since the pair were Miss Li’s relatives, after all, the guards hadn’t dared to go too far, fearing they’d be blamed by Miss Li if things escalated.

But now that they knew where Miss Li stood, that wasn’t an issue anymore.

The guard returned to the security booth and told his colleague, ”I just confirmed with Miss Li. She says she doesn’t know these two.”

”Impossible.”

Li Yonghua shouted back, ”Get Li Jinshu out here! We’ll confront her face-to-face!”

”That’s right! Li Jinshu is my daughter, and I’m here for her.”

”Go on, get out of here. The person you’re looking for isn’t here.”

The guard said, growing impatient, ”If you don’t leave now, I’ll have you forcibly removed.”

As he spoke, another guard standing nearby pulled out an electric baton to intimidate them.

The mother and son took one look at it and immediately chickened out.

”We’re leaving, we’re leaving! What’s with the aggression?!”

Gong Meiping and Li Yonghua were driven out and left standing at the entrance to the complex.

”Mom, what now? We can’t even get in to see her.”

”We wait.”

Gong Meiping said sharply, ”We’ll stake out this entrance. I refuse to believe she’ll stay inside forever.”

”What if she drives out?”

”Then we’ll split up. I’ll watch the main gate, you watch the garage exit.”

”...” Li Yonghua was speechless.

When Xu Yun and Li Jinshu got back to the apartment, a video call came in from security.

”Miss Li, your mother and brother are still waiting at the entrance.”

The guard said politely, ”Just thought I should let you know.”

”Okay, I understand. Thank you.”

Xu Yun, who was standing nearby, said with a smile, ”This can’t go on, you know.”

”But I don’t know what else to do.”

Li Jinshu said, frustrated, ”Maybe they’ll give up and leave after a while.”

”By the way, I have to go back to my hometown tomorrow for a bit. Be careful for the next few days. Try to go out with Su Mu if you can, and don’t go out by yourself.”

”I know.”

Li Jinshu asked, ”Are you going back for your mom’s birthday?”

”Yeah, my mom’s birthday is the day after tomorrow.”

”Oh,” Li Jinshu replied quietly.

’His mom’s birthday, and he hadn’t asked her to go with him.’ She felt a pang of disappointment.

”Also, let’s swap cars.”

Xu Yun continued, ”I’ll drive the Flying Spur back home tomorrow morning. You can use my Continental to get around for the next few days.”

”Okay.”

After saying this to Li Jinshu, he went back to his room.

Li Jinshu didn’t cling to him to ask for his ”essence” either.

After all, he had a drive of several hours ahead of him tomorrow and needed to get some rest tonight.

Besides, Su Mu was almost home.

It would be incredibly awkward if Su Mu walked in on them in the middle of their ”exercise.”

Xu Yun went back to his own apartment and made a video call to his mom.

On the call, it looked like his mom was at his eldest uncle’s house, helping with the dishes after dinner.

Xu Yun had two maternal uncles in total.

Both of their families were much better off than his mother’s, or rather, they held a higher social standing among their relatives.

His eldest uncle worked for the state-owned tobacco company, and his younger uncle worked for a government agency in the county. During family gatherings, the wives of these two uncles always acted superior.

So whenever he and his mother went to their uncles’ houses to eat, the two aunts would just sit in the living room chatting afterward, while his mother was always the one to volunteer to clear the table and wash the dishes.

Xu Yun had told his mother before not to do it, but she would just say that they were all family, it was only washing a few dishes, and not to make a big deal out of it.

’But was this really about not making a big deal out of it?’

’This was blatant bullying!’

’Who ever heard of guests eating at someone’s house, and while the hosts go relax, the guests are the ones who wash the dishes?’

This kind of unfair treatment was a regular occurrence among the families.

But this time, Xu Yun was determined not to let this kind of thing happen again.

Once those two snobbish aunts saw his ”power,” he knew that, given their nature, they would start sucking up to him and fawning over his mother to try and get some benefits.

Xu Yun couldn’t care less if they were sincere. As long as they could provide his mother with some emotional validation, that was all that mattered!

’Money? He had more than enough of that now.’

’They want a piece of the action?’

’Fine by me. But first, they’d have to learn how to make his mom happy.’

Pushing aside these thoughts, Xu Yun told his mother he was coming home tomorrow.

His mother, Zhang Sujuan, was naturally delighted to hear it.

Then his eldest aunt suddenly poked her head into the frame, smiling. ”Xu Yun, ah, you’re coming back tomorrow?”

”That’s right, Auntie.”

”So, are you taking the bus or the high-speed train?”

Zhang Sujuan was very tight-lipped. She hadn’t said a single word to any relatives or friends about her son’s new circumstances.

Her own lifestyle remained as modest and low-key as ever.

As a result, none of them knew that this Xu Yun was no longer the same Xu Yun they remembered.

Hearing this, Xu Yun immediately understood that his mom hadn’t told anyone about his newfound wealth.

He also knew that his eldest aunt was about to start showing off again.

He smiled and replied, ”I’m not sure yet. I’ll figure it out then. I’ll just take whatever’s available.”

Sure enough, with her very next sentence, his aunt began to gloat.

”Aiya, you’re finally making a trip back home. Taking the bus or train is so inconvenient.”

His eldest aunt said with a grin, ”Our Zhang Lei just so happens to be in your city, Jiangcheng, buying a new car today. I think he’s coming back tomorrow too. Why don’t you get a ride with him? You can come back together.”
