Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Su Mu and Li Jinshu had been here with Xu Yun twice before, so they acted perfectly at ease.

Liang Yan was also familiar with the place; it wasn’t her first time here either.

She had just never been up to the third floor before.

After all, it was quite expensive. Not everyone was willing to spend tens of thousands on a single meal.

The only ones who were a little surprised were Yu Xuan and Ning Qian.

It was truly their first time here, and they were stunned by the indoor landscape artistry.

’This isn’t a restaurant, it’s like we’ve been transported to the landscapes of Jiangnan.’

A glance at the menu revealed that the prices were also incredibly high.

They hesitated to order anything.

Seeing their hesitation, Xu Yun didn’t bother asking. He turned directly to the waiter beside him and said, ”Just bring us a serving for each person of your best, most delicious dishes, according to your highest standard.”

”President Xu, would you like some red wine?” the waiter asked.

Xu Yun turned to him and chuckled. ”What, are you trying to sell me another 88,888 yuan bottle of red wine?”

”...” The waiter’s face immediately flushed red.

”How about this? Just bring me a decent bottle of wine.”

”Right away, President Xu.” The waiter quickly scurried out.

Liang Yan asked, confused, ”What’s this about an 88,888 yuan bottle of red wine?”

”Ah, that’s a funny story.”

Li Jinshu smiled. ”That was actually the first time I met Xu Yun. He treated me and Susu to dinner right here. Guess how much that one meal cost?”

”How much?” Ning Qian asked, her curiosity piqued.

Li Jinshu looked at Xu Yun and replied, ”120,000! A single meal cost 120,000 yuan! And 88,888 of that was for one bottle of red wine.”

”...” Everyone was speechless.

That’s ridiculously rich!

No wonder the restaurant owner was so welcoming to him earlier.

It would be strange not to curry favor and build a good relationship with a cash cow like that.

Xu Yun said, embarrassed, ”I’d never tried it before, so I just wanted to order a bottle to see what it was like. Turns out, it only tasted a little smoother than ordinary red wine.”

”Haha, you feel like you got ripped off, don’t you?”

Liang Yan smiled. ”If you like red wine, you should come to me. My wine cellar at home has plenty of excellent bottles. Why don’t you come over to my place tonight and try some?”

”...”

Hearing this, Su Mu couldn’t help but curse inwardly.

’Are you just asking him over for a drink?’

’You want to drink him right into your bed!’

Su Mu cut in, ”He probably doesn’t have time. We have to discuss some things tonight.”

Liang Yan retorted, ”Is that right, Xu Yun?”

”That’s right. We have to have a late-night discussion about a script.”

Xu Yun improvised on the spot, ”We’re very optimistic about the short-form drama market. We’ve already hired people to write scripts.”

”Already?”

Liang Yan didn’t grow suspicious. She said, ”I just got a script myself. I’m thinking of shooting another one.”

”You don’t need my investment this time?”

”Nope.”

Now that she had her own capital for a project that was clearly going to be profitable, she was naturally unwilling to give Xu Yun another cut.

Xu Yun joked casually, ”Without my lucky charm bonus, I’m afraid you might end up losing money.”

”The short-form drama market is a blue ocean right now. It’d be stranger to lose money than to make it.”

Before the food arrived, Su Mu took the opportunity to speak. ”Today is a great day, and it’s also the official first day of our company.”

”So, let’s make today our official monthly payday from now on. What do you all think?”

”Great idea!”

At the mention of getting paid, both Ning Qian and Yu Xuan lit up and enthusiastically agreed.

”President Xu, I’ll go ahead and send out the salaries then.”

Su Mu smiled and asked Xu Yun, ”Even though nobody has worked a full month yet, I was planning to pay everyone for the full month. Do you agree?”

”Of course!”

Xu Yun said, ”Especially Ning Qian. She worked hard supervising the construction site and even got a tan. Let’s raise her salary by ten thousand, effective immediately.”

”Thank you, President Xu,” Ning Qian said, overjoyed.

”And Jinshu. Even though you waived your design fee, your work was so good and you put so much heart into it. It was hard work, so let’s give you a 100,000 yuan bonus for your effort!”

Hearing this, Li Jinshu was thrilled and said with playful formality, ”Thank you, President Xu.”

”As for Yu Xuan, her performance has been excellent recently. Raise her salary by ten thousand, too!”

”Thank you, boss.” Yu Xuan couldn’t hold back a wide smile.

Who wouldn’t be happy to hear about getting a raise, let alone one of ten thousand yuan?

In front of everyone, Su Mu took out her phone and began making transfers from the company account.

All the necessary arrangements had already been made at the bank.

One by one, the phones of the three women present chimed with text notifications confirming their salaries had been deposited.

Ning Qian’s salary was 30,000 yuan, Yu Xuan’s was 60,000, and Li Jinshu received her 100,000 yuan bonus.

After sending the money, Su Mu turned to him. ”So, President Xu, what about me? How much are you going to pay me?”

”You can just decide and pay yourself whatever you see fit.”

Su Mu: ”...”

This wasn’t just Xu Yun being generous; it was a table full of his own women.

And of course, he had to treat his family well.

”President Xu.”

The only one left out, Liang Yan, asked with a smile, ”All the women here got paid. What about me? Aren’t there any perks for me?”

”You’re not my employee. You expect a salary from me?”

Xu Yun replied, ”Just remember to have your finance department transfer my share of over twenty million yuan this afternoon. Otherwise, I’ll barely be able to make payroll.”

”...” Liang Yan rolled her eyes in exasperation.

Soon, the dishes began to arrive one after another.

Since it was her first time eating such a high-end meal, Ning Qian had to take a picture of every dish before tasting it.

Yu Xuan did the same.

The other three women were more composed and didn’t have such habits, simply starting to eat right away.

After the meal, everyone moved to the adjacent tea room to drink tea, eat dessert, and relax.

Finding everything novel on their first visit, Yu Xuan and Ning Qian decided to explore the place together.

Su Mu and Li Jinshu were chatting about her grandmother.

Meanwhile, Xu Yun was chatting with Liang Yan.

Liang Yan did most of the talking, laying out her company’s strategy, future plans, and various ideas.

Xu Yun wasn’t really listening. His mind was occupied with how to celebrate his mom’s upcoming birthday.

It was only three or four days away, after all.

He definitely needed to plan for it properly in advance.

At the very least, he needed a concrete plan.

In any case, he had to go back a day or two early to celebrate Chen Xin’s birthday, so he’d have time to prepare for his mom’s as well.

He wasn’t the least bit afraid of people knowing he was rich or coveting his money.

’What’s the point of being rich if you don’t go home and show it off? It’s like wearing finery in the dark.’

His mother had definitely lost face among their relatives and friends because of what happened with his wedding last time.

This time, he had to make it up to her and restore her pride.

The more high-profile, the better!

He got so lost in thought that he didn’t hear a single word she was saying.

Finally, when Liang Yan asked, ”What do you think? Want to partner up on this?”

He answered bluntly, ”I don’t know. I wasn’t listening.”

Liang Yan: ”...”

”Look, I’ll be honest with you.”

Xu Yun said, ”Although this company is mine in name, I’ve pretty much already given it to Su Mu. She calls all the shots; I don’t get involved.”

Liang Yan: ”???”

”So, it’s useless telling me all this. If you have time, you should go talk to Su Mu.”

”As long as you can convince her, you two can partner up and do whatever you want!”

”...” Liang Yan was speechless.

’A company with fifty million in startup capital, and he just gives it away like that?’

’Just how rich must his family be?’

’With this kind of special treatment, there’s simply no comparison between me and Su Mu.’

’And here I am, trying to win his favor? What a joke. I’d only have a fighting chance if he were ever that generous with me.’

’To put it bluntly, I’m just a fling to Xu Yun at best. My position in his heart is nothing compared to Su Mu’s.’

”Xu Yun.”

Liang Yan asked tentatively, ”If I just gave you my company, would you dump Su Mu and be with me?”

”No.”

Xu Yun said with a confident, cocky air, ”With the scale of your company... if it’s not pulling in a few hundred million a year, I’m really not interested.”

”...” Liang Yan was speechless.

The very thing she was most proud of, her greatest achievement, was being looked down upon.

It was a crushing blow.

Liang Yan looked at Xu Yun and asked another question.

”As far as I know, Su Mu has been divorced before, too. Why do you think she’s better than me?”

”Because she was the first woman I wanted so badly I couldn’t sleep at night.”

Xu Yun smiled. ”And even though she was married before, I was her first.”

”...” Liang Yan was speechless.

Hearing Xu Yun’s explanation, she finally gave up all hope.

’A woman who throws herself at you and a woman you truly desire are two completely different things.’
