War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

Duan Ling Tian stood in the center of the battle ring and stared at his opponent from the Title Temple.

Duan Ling Tian’s opponent had only displayed the strength of a top Four Star God of War so far so he was not as outstanding as Hong Yuan and Sima Rui who had shown the strength of a Five Star God of War.

Duan Ling Tian did not think his opponent was the Title Temple’s hidden ace since he could tell his opponent had a hard time during his previous match against another participant with the strength of a Four Star God of War. Although he tried to hide it, it did not escape the notice of Duan Ling Tian who had been observing the participants from the Title Temple.

A low and guttural growl rang from Duan Ling Tian’s opponent’s throat suddenly. Although he was aware that he was no match for Duan Ling Tian, he went all out and cast his most powerful technique.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Duan Ling Tian’s opponent specialized in the law of water. The surroundings seemed as though they had turned into the ocean when he cast the profundities from the law of water. Killer waves surged toward Duan Ling Tian in just a blink of an eye. The waves, unlike ordinary waves, held a pulling power so strong that they seemed capable of pulling everything into the depths of the ocean.

Duan Ling Tian’s opponent had gone all out because he had received a Voice Transmission instructing him to go all out to force Duan Ling Tian to show his hand. The Title Temple wanted to see if Duan Ling Tian was still hiding his strength. Alas, with his strength that on par with a top Four Star God of War, it was impossible for him to force Duan Ling Tian, who had shown the strength of a Five Star God of War, to show his hand even if he had gone all out.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Everyone watched as Duan Ling Tian hovered in the air calmly without any changes in his expressions, despite the killer waves sweeping toward him, as his robes fluttered in the air. Just when the waves were about five meters away from him, a shocking scene appeared before everyone’s eyes.

Duan Ling Tian seemed to have transformed into a huge whale from the depths of the ocean before he opened his mouth and easily devoured the killer waves coming his way.

The expression of his opponent changed greatly when he saw Duan Ling Tian was not the slightest bit affected. He could not maintain such high-intensity attacks for long, after all.

Duan Ling Tian hovered in the air and used the Mastery Dao he had comprehended to manipulate the space around him as he devoured waves after waves of his opponent’s attacks. None of the attacks affected him at all.

“Surrender.”

At this moment, a voice rang in Duan Ling Tian’s opponent’s ears. It was a Voice Transmission from the person who had told him to go all out earlier. The person who sent the Voice Transmission was none other than Xu Kong Hai, the Vice Temple Master of the main Title Temple, who was presiding over the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses. Since Duan Ling Tian was far stronger, it was pointless to continue the fight. His eyes flashed with greed as he looked at Duan Ling Tian.

“I surrender,” Duan Ling Tian’s opponent called out.

Following that, Xu Kong Hai said with a straight face, “Duan Ling Tian, number 12, wins the match.”

When the match between the participants with the numbers 13 and 14 began, no one really paid attention since most of them were still discussing Duan Ling Tian.

“How do you think Duan Ling Tian will rank?”

“He’s too young. He’ll rank in the top 5 at most; it’s still an amazing feat. However, I don’t think it’s possible for him to rank in the top 3.”

“I agree.”

Due to Duan Ling Tian’s age, many people did not think he would rank in the top 3 of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses, let alone rank number one, despite his strength.

Duan Ling Tian was naturally unbothered by the crowd’s opinion. There were so many people who had looked down on him in his life, and he had learned the best response was to prove them wrong with his actions.

As soon as Duan Ling Tian returned to his seat, Zhang Tian You began to gush, “Duan Ling Tian, your Mastery Dao is really terrifying! It’s amazing! Your opponent is like a defenseless baby in front of you. None of his attacks affected you at all! On the contrary, you easily neutralized all his attacks!”

As Zhang Tian You spoke, Wang Ting and He Jian Yi, who were sitting at the side, nodded to show their agreement.

…

The match after Duan Ling Tian’s match was between two participants with the strength of a Four Star God of War. It was a tight match; both opponents were almost evenly matched. In the end, the winner was so injured that he could no longer exert his full strength. Based on this, it could be seen that neither participant had hidden their strength. After all, if they truly possessed the strength of a Five Star God of War, they would injure themselves to this extent just to hide their strength.

Subsequently, when the participants with the numbers 15 and 16 stepped into the battle ring for the next match, everyone broke out in a commotion again when they saw participant number 15.

“Yu Dong Fang!”

Yu Dong Fang, the third true disciple of the Heavenly Emperor of the Pavilion Shaft Heaven, had already revealed his strength that was comparable to a Five Star God of War so it was not surprising that his appearance generated a commotion.

His opponent, on the other hand, seemed to only possess the strength of a top Four Star God of War.

‘It’s him…’ Duan Ling Tian’s attention, unlike everyone else, was not on Yu Dong Fang, but Yu Dong Fang’s opponent.

The participant with the number 16 was a young man dressed in a long white robe. He had a medium build, and his appearance was so average that it would be difficult to identify him in a sea of people. Most of the time he seemed a little timid and introverted. However, at this moment when facing Yu Dong Fang, his aura seemed to change slightly. He seemed determined.

“You’re no match for me,” Yu Dong Fang said indifferently as he stared at his opponent, certain of his victory.

“Perhaps.” Although the young man’s voice was not loud, everyone heard his reply clearly.

“I’ll defeat you now if you’re not going to surrender,” Yu Dong Fang said before he shot out like an arrow and arrived near the young man in just a blink of an eye. He lifted his hand, reading to send a blast of energy out.

At this moment, no one doubted Yu Dong Fang’s victory. Moreover, his opponent was standing unmoving as though he was in a daze.

However, time seemed to freeze in the next moment. The scene that appeared was beyond everyone’s imagination.

Yu Dong Fang’s hand was still raised in the air, frozen. Even his expression seemed to have frozen on his face.

“Law of time!”

“It’s the law of time!”

Upon seeing this, many people, including a few Heavenly Emperors and high-ranking officials from the Title Temple branches, rose to their feet immediately.

The law of time was the most unique law among the Four Supreme Laws. It allowed one to manipulate time, and there were not many known countermeasures for it. In fact, there were many who thought the law of time was the strongest law due to its heaven-defying ability. How terrifying was it to be able to stop time?

Needless to say, such a law was not easy to comprehend. Moreover, the progress was slow as well. Therefore, many who were capable of comprehending the law of time would give up and comprehend another law due to the slow progress.

Like most laws and profundities, the law of time was only effective against a weaker opponent. For example, if one cast the Freezing Profundity that could stop time, it would only affect weaker opponents. Unless the caster had comprehended Fused Profundities, it would be useless against opponents who had comprehended Fused Profundities.

As such, how could everyone not be shocked that Yu Dong Fang was frozen? Yu Dong Fang’s strength was well known to all. His strength was definitely among the top Five Star Gods War. For the young man’s Freezing Profundity to be effective on Yu Dong Fang, the young man had to be as strong as or stronger than Yu Dong Fang.

Everyone watched as the young man, who had just revealed strength comparable to a Five Star God of War, shot out two beams of gray light from his eyes that entered Yu Dong Fang began to move again.

Before Yu Dong Fang could retaliate, something terrifying happened to him. His jet-black hair turned white in just a blink of an eye, and his skin wrinkled swiftly. He had aged from a healthy young man to an old man at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Everyone gasped upon seeing this horrifying scene.

“From what I know, for him to be so skilled in manipulating time, he has to be as strong as a top Five Star God of War at least…”

Tang San Pao’s words reverberated in Duan Ling Tian and the others’ minds.
