War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

At this time, Duan Ling Tian had already been in the Nine Serenities Battlefield for more than two months now; he had gotten used to the environment there. Although it was similar to the Purgatory Battlefield, there were certain aspects that were different as well.

In the Nine Serenities Battlefield, it was common for titled Celestial Emperors to form alliances to take down other titled Celestial Emperors and snatched their possessions. Without a strong group or sufficient strength, it was usually difficult to survive in the Nine Serenities Battlefield.

‘I think I’ll join the Heavenly Dao Alliance,’ Duan Ling Tian thought to himself. Over the past few months, he had been attacked more than once. Although he did not have problems killing his opponents, it was getting troublesome. He had found remote places to cultivate, and yet, someone would interrupt his cultivation every time in hopes of obtaining his possessions. For this reason, it was difficult for him to immerse himself in his cultivation. After being repeatedly interrupted, he knew it was impossible to cultivate in peace in the Nine Serenities Battlefield. Hence, in order to cultivate, he decided to join one of the alliances so he could cultivate in their base.

Over the past two weeks, he had been gathering information on various alliances near him. In the end, he concluded the Heavenly Dao Alliance was the strongest among all the other alliances. Most of the alliances would need to join forces just to take down the Heavenly Dao Alliance alone.

‘There are two Eight Star Gods of War leading the Heavenly Dao Alliance so most people don’t dare to provoke them… The alliance recruits members once a year so I’ll have to wait another three months before joining them.’

While waiting for the day of the recruitment to arrive, Duan Ling Tian no longer cultivated. Instead, he wandered around the area near the Heavenly Dao Alliance’s base. When he ran into those who harbor ill intentions, he would kill them without showing mercy even if they pleaded for their lives. This world was one where the strong were revered after all.

During this time, he decided to battle to gain experience and to deepen his comprehension of the laws and the Four Daos of Heaven and Earth. Although the improvement he made from this was not too much, it was still progress. Apart from that, whenever he was asleep, he would continue to comprehend the law of space using the Supreme Powerhouse Divinity.

In just three months, Duan Ling Tian had made a name for himself in this area. He was known as the Purple-clad Nobleman.

In the Nine Serenities Battlefield, some alliances had built cities where one could trade. At this time, Duan Ling Tian had entered one of those cities called the Vast Heaven City. He could hear the people around him discussing him as soon as he stepped foot into the city.

“Recently, there’s a rise in the number of people wearing purple. I don’t know about the other alliances, but people from my alliance would run as soon as they see someone dressed in purple. It’s better not to take chances.”

“Is that Purple-clad Nobleman so terrifying?” someone asked.

“Of course! I was watching from the distance when the Linking River Sect’s Left Guardian, Ye Xiang, fought with the Purple-clad Nobleman. Ye Xiang died within a second. You must know Ye Xiang is a top Five Star God of war!” a member of the Vast Heaven Gate said.

“Heavens! A top Five Star God of War died within a second? Not even Six Star Gods of War are capable of such a feat, right?”

“That’s right! In any case, the Purple-clad Nobleman has to be a top Six Star God of War, at least. He could even be a Seven Star God of War.”

“A Seven Star God of War? The Leader of the Vast Heaven Gate is the only Seven Star God of War, right?”

“Yes. That’s why our leader has prohibited us from attacking anyone who’s dressed in purple in case we end up provoking the Purple-clad Nobleman. It’d be fine if he just killed those who offended him, but what if he decides to vent his anger on the Vast Heaven Gate?”

“But your leader is a Seven Star God of War as well, right? There’s no need for him to be afraid of the Purple-clad Nobleman, right?”

“Yes. However, do you think it’s possible for our leader to protect all the members of the Vast Heaven Gate all the time? All the Purple-clad Nobleman needs to do is to go after our members, and it won’t be long before the Vast Heaven Gate is destroyed.”

“After listening to you, I really want to meet the Purple-clad Nobleman.”

“I don’t know what he looks like. Although I witnessed his fight with Ye Xiang, I didn’t have a good look at his face since I was too far away.” After a moment, this person added, “Hey, look, that person’s back looks just like the Purple-clad Nobleman!”

The member of the Vast Heaven Sky had just seen Duan Ling Tian’s back. Naturally, he did not think the person he saw was the Purple-clad Nobleman. He assumed it was just someone who was dressed in purple and similar build as the Purple-clad Nobleman. Nevertheless, he did not dare to attack the person at all. After all, there was a small chance that person could be the Purple-clad Nobleman. Rumor had it that everyone who had provoked the Purple-clad Nobleman had died.

‘The Purple-clad Nobleman?’ Duan Ling Tian shook his head slightly as he smiled faintly. ‘Who knew I managed to make a name for myself after wandering around for three months. I wonder if I’d be able to join the Heavenly Dao Alliance using this identity without taking the recruitment test.’

At this time, there were three days left before the recruitment started. Hence, Duan Ling Tian was now making his way to the Heavenly Dao Alliance’s base.

Although killing was the norm in the Nine Serenities Battlefield, many people were very restrained. After all, no one knew how powerful their opponents would be. Naturally, there were also those who were very strong who would just kill their opponents directly.

‘Recently, the number of people attacking has decreased. The reputation of the Purple-clad Nobleman is quite formidable. However, there are many impostors as well…”

As Duan Ling Tian walked on the streets of Vast Heaven City, he noticed five out of ten people he had seen wore purple robes. It was as though it was now trendy to wear purple.

Duan Ling Tian chuckled to himself. ‘Did I start a fashion trend?’

…

Two days later, Duan Ling Tian finally arrived outside of the Heavenly Dao Alliance’s base.

There was a huge crowd gathered there at this moment. A large number of the people were dressed in purple, acting mysterious as though they were experts. There was no lack of people who looked at them disdainfully and skeptically.

“These clowns… Do they really think the Heavenly Dao Alliance will treat them differently just because they’re pretending to be the Purple-clad Nobleman? Ridiculous!” a middle-aged man said with a scoff.

“They’re all clearly impostors,” a young man mockingly.

Just as Duan Ling Tian arrived, someone said, “Look, there’s another impostor!”

People shifted their eyes to Duan Ling Tian immediately. Those who were wearing purple as well looked at him in disgust and annoyance while those who were not wearing purple looked at him mockingly.

“Young man, heed my advice and leave,” a blue-clad young man approached Duan Ling Tian and said contemptuously, “I just received news that those who’re dressed in purple won’t be allowed to take the recruitment test at all. The Heavenly Dao Alliance refuses to be associated with a group of impostors.”

Duan Ling Tian glanced at the blue-clad young man and calmly asked, “Why do you think I’m an impostor?”

“If you’re not an impostor, why are you here? A month ago, the Heavenly Dao Alliance had already extended an open invitation to the Purple-clad Nobleman to join them… If he’s willing to join them, they make him the ninth Guardian of the alliance.”

Duan Ling Tian was stunned when he heard these words. When did the Heavenly Dao Alliance extend an invitation to him? He was completely unaware of it. If he had known about it, why would he wait for three months? He would have joined the alliance immediately so he could cultivate in peace.

Meanwhile, many people in the surroundings had heard the blue-clad young man’s words as well.

“Is this true?”

“Is he telling the truth? Where did he hear about this?”

At this time, three figures flew out from the Heavenly Dao Alliance’s base. An old man was flanked by two middle-aged men as they descended from the sky.

The old man was dressed in a silver robe, and he had an extraordinary bearing. His hair and brows were completely white, giving him a dignified air.

“It’s Meng Shan, the seventh Guardian of the Heavenly Dao Alliance!” someone cried out at this moment.
