War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

The Purgatory Battlefield and Nine Serenities Battlefield were independent realms created by the collision between the Realms of the Gods that occurred every 10,000 years. They were slightly similar to the Realms of Gods’ Realms Battlefield. However, the Realm Battlefield was a means for supreme powerhouses to amuse themselves, watching gods slaughter each other to obtain cultivation resources, fortuitous encounters, and treasures. Unlike the Realm Battlefields, the Purgatory Battlefield and the Nine Serenities Battlefield were not filled with treasures or fortuitous encounters since they were just the results of the collision between Realms of Gods.

In one way or another, the Purgatory Battlefield, the Nine Serenities Battlefield, and the Realm Battlefield were all related to the supreme powerhouses. However, the supreme powerhouses were only focused on the Realm Battlefield and left the Purgatory Battlefield and Nine Serenities Battlefield to their destruction.

However, due to the cultivation base restriction in the Purgatory Battlefield and the Nine Serenities Battlefield, they had gradually become training grounds for Celestial Lords and Celestial Emperors from all the Devata Realms.

Previously, Duan Ling Tian had gone to the Purgatory Battlefield as well where many powerful Celestial Lords were gathered. Some of them even possessed the Divine Elements. Due to the realm’s characteristics, all of them could safely reveal and use their Divine Elements. During his time in the Purgatory Battlefield, Duan Ling Tian had also managed to evolve his Five Divine Elements.

Just like how the Purgatory Battlefield was like a stage for Celestial Lords, the Nine Serenities Battlefield was like a stage for Celestial Emperors. The ranking on the battlefield had also become a way that the Title Temple used to measure the strength of Celestial Emperors.

The lowest rank was One Star God of War while the highest rank was Nine Star God of War. Usually, One Star Gods of War were as strong as ordinary titled Celestial Emperors while Nine Star Gods of War were Ten Directions Celestial Emperors who were on the brink of attaining godhood, otherwise known as demi-gods.

‘There are many gods from the Title Temple who are in the Devata Realms. With my strength now, I won’t be able to stand up to them at all. Due to the restrictions in the Nine Serenities Battlefield, gods won’t be able to enter it. This means even if the Title Temple sends someone after me on the battlefield, it’d only be a Nine Star God of War at most. Hence, the battlefield would be a safe place for me. It’s not practical for me to hide in the Devata Realms. I need a place to cultivate safely and also to gain experience. It seems like going to the Nine Serenities Battlefield is my best option now…’

After making up his mind, Duan Ling Tian did not waste time and bade farewell to Elder Huo and Meng Luo before he hurriedly left the Solitary Destructive Heaven.

Elder Huo and Meng Luo could only watch helplessly as Duan Ling Tian left. There was nothing they could do to help him now since he had now surpassed them.

“Elder Huo, I bet you didn’t expect the young lad you met in the mundane realm would achieve so much in just a few hundred years, right?” Meng Luo asked.

Elder Huo nodded. “You’re right. Seeing his achievements, I can’t help but feel that I’ve lived in vain all these years…”

“We should put in more effort into our cultivation. Otherwise, the gap between our strength and the Young Master will only widen,” Meng Luo said with a sigh.

…

The independent realm where the main Title Temple was located was called the God’s Realm. It was named by the founder of the Title Temple.

The sprawling estate that occupied the independent realm naturally was the main Title Temple.

In one of the main halls in the estate, two rows of seats were arranged across from each other on the left and right side. At this time, two people were sitting at the center of the two rows of chairs respectively, facing each other. The person sitting on the left was Wu Hong Qing, the Temple Master of the Title Temple while the person sitting on the right was a young man. If Duan Ling Tian were present, he would have recognized the young man immediately. The young man was none other than Tang San Pao whom he had met during the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses.

As Wu Hong Qing’s successor, Tang San Pao was the Young Master of the Title Temple. Due to seniority, Tang San Pao had to be respectful toward Wu Hong Qing, and he would usually stand while Wu Hong Qing was seated. However, at this moment, Tang San Pao was sitting in a leisurely manner with his legs crossed across from Wu Hong Qing.

“I want to enter the Nine Serenities Battlefield,” Tang San Pao said in a manner that completely lacked respect.

Wu Hong Qing was not displeased at all by Tang San Pao’s lack of respect. He only raised his eyebrows slightly as he asked, “Will you be able to enter the battlefield? Although the body you possess is that of a Ten Directions Celestial Emperor, your soul is that of an intermediate King of Gods. You won’t be able to bypass the battlefield’s restriction.”

Clearly, Tang San Pao had already been possessed by Mi Xuan, the former Clan Leader of the Phantom Clan, who was an intermediate King of Gods.

Half a year ago, Tang San Pao had coincidentally visited Wu Hong Qing while Mi Xuan was around. At that time, Mi Xuan had been convinced that Tang San Pao was the perfect person to possess. Despite Wu Hong Qing’s objections, Mi Xuan possessed Tang San Pao and inherited Tang San Pao’s memories and comprehension of the laws.

Although Wu Hong Qing was displeased by Mi Xuan’s actions, there was nothing he could do. He was not capable of killing Mi Xuan now that Mi Xuan possessed Tang San Pao unless he wanted to destroy Tang San Pao’s body as well.

After possessing Tang San Pao, Mi Xuan made a deal with the Title Temple, knowing that the Title Temple could help him with his cultivation.

At that time, Mi Xuan had said, “I must kill Duan Ling Tian no matter what… I only want the Clear Heavens Divine Wood; the Title Temple can have the others. In exchange for the four Divine Elements, the Title Temple has to help me attain godhood as soon as possible.”

Since Mi Xuan had possessed Tang San Pao, his cultivation base was now restricted by Tang San Pao’s cultivation base, which was that of a Nine Palaces Celestial Emperor. Hence, Mi Xuan’s physical body could not keep up with his soul that was an intermediate King of Gods. Despite the restriction from his physical body, his soul attacks were still very strong.

Due to this deal, Wu Hong Qing and the Title Temple had spared no efforts in obtaining another Exploding Element Celestial Fruit for Mi Xuan. It took them almost a month to obtain the fruit.

After consuming the Exploding Element Celestial Fruit, Mi Xuan successfully became a Ten Directions Celestial Emperor after half a year.

“Of course, I know about the restrictions of the Nine Serenities Battlefield,” Mi Xuan said dismissively. After a pause, he said in a tone brimming with arrogance, “The Phantom Clan members have many tricks, after all.”

However, after Mi Xuan finished speaking, the arrogant expression suddenly vanished and was replaced with an expression of fury as though he had just recalled something.

Wu Qing Hong nodded. “That might work. However, once you seal your soul, you won’t be able to unseal it when you’re in the Nine Serenities Battlefield. If you unseal it, who knows what the repercussions would be like? It could range from something as light as being ejected from the battlefield to something as serious as being instantly killed…”

“Why do I need to unseal my soul in there?” Mi Xuan asked indifferently.

Wu Hong Qing was reminded again that Tang San Pao had been possessed by Mi Xuan. Although physically Mi Xuan was only a Ten Directions Celestial Emperor now, with his experience and comprehension of the laws, he was easily as strong as a Nine Star God of War. He was more than strong enough to deal with those who entered the Nine Serenities Battlefield even if his soul was sealed.

After a moment, Wu Hong Qing asked, “I don’t understand… Why do you suddenly want to enter the Nine Serenities Battlefield? It’s meaningless for someone like you.”

“No, it’s not meaningless.” Mi Xuan shook his head. “My soul is incompatible with this body. I need to enter the Nine Serenities Battlefield to let my soul adapt to it through battles. Through battles, I will be able to perfectly display the profundities I’ve comprehended. After all, this body is still unable to perfectly unleash my full power…”

Wu Hong Qing nodded. “I see. When do you plan to enter the Nine Serenities Battlefield? I’ll send you there…”

“Now,” Mi Xuan replied.

…

Meanwhile, Duan Ling Tian, who had already entered the Nine Serenities Battlefield, was unaware that Mi Xuan, who had forced Feng Qing Yang to detonate his clone, was about to enter the Nine Serenities Battlefield using the body of someone whom he was familiar with.
