War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

Although Su Li was stronger compared to those who had just broken through, his current strength was nowhere near that of a top Four Star God of War. It was already an amazing feat that he managed to make it into the top 30 of the Devata Realms’s Battle of the Geniuses; it would be difficult for him to rank above 23rd place.

Bang!

Regardless, Su Li was fearless and unyielding when faced with a hopeless situation and gave it his best.

As expected, Su Lu was defeated by his opponent who was as strong as a top Four Star God of War in the end.

Soon enough, the other matches concluded as well, and the winners were determined. With that, the ranks were reshuffled again.

Swoosh!

At this time, the names of the top 30 participants began to appear in the air.

Needless to say, the 11 participants with strength comparable to Five Star Gods of War and the participants who had won their matches during the first bout of the final round of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses earlier occupied the first to the 16th place on the list.

The 17th to 23rd place was occupied by the participants who won their matches during the second bout of the final round of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses.

Finally, the 24th to the 30th place was occupied by those who had lost their matches during the second bout of the final round, like Su Li.

After all the names appeared, Xu Kong Hai, the Vice Temple Master of the main Title Temple, said loudly, “I’m sure all of you know these ranks aren’t permanent, and they’re not a reflection of your strength yet. According to the rules of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses, those who ranked from the 21st to the 30th place can only challenge the participants in the20th place or lower, at most. You can only challenge those who are ranked 10th or lower if you manage to rank in the20th place. You can only challenge the top nine participants if you’re ranked in 10th place.”

While Xu Kong Hai spoke, everyone, including Duan Ling Tian, was focused on the list of 30 names. Out of the 30 names, the temporary ranking for the top 11 places were as followed:

Zhong Gui Yu

Tang San Pao

Duan Ling Tian

Zhou Yong Qi

Ling Jue Yun

Sima Rui

Ye Dong Li

Hong Yuan

Huang Quan An

Liu Xu Yan

Yu Dong Fang

Following that, was a group of participants with the strength of a Four Star God of War.

Su Li was ranked in 24th place, the first among those who lost their matches during the second bout of the final round of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses.

At this time, many people were discussing among themselves as they looked at the list of names in the air.

“Hey, did you notice that…”

“It seems like these temporary ranks are ranked in accordance to the time the participants revealed their strength…”

“You’re right. Zhong Gui Yu was the first to reveal his strength that was comparable to a Five Star God of War so he’s temporarily ranked first. Following that is Tang San Pao and Duan Ling Tian…”

It was true for Su Li too. Among those who ranked at the bottom seven places, he was the first to reveal the strength of a Four Star God of War.

At this moment, Xu Kong Hai began to speak again. “The person who’s ranked in the30th place can now step forward to issue a challenge. Please remember that you can only challenge participants in 20th place or lower for now.”

The final round of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the geniuses was one of the longest, if not the longest, rounds. The third bout allowed the participants who ranked at the bottom to challenge those in front of them to improve their ranks. Naturally, participants could also choose not to issue a challenge and maintain their rank, but if they were challenged, they had no choice but to accept or surrender. If they lost or surrendered, they would naturally drop in rank.

Swoosh!

After Xu Kong Hai finished speaking, the participant ranked in 30th place, an expressionless white-clad young man, flew into the battle ring. He shifted his eyes to Su Li and said, “I want to challenge Su Li who’s ranked 24th.”

The white-clad young man’s words caused a small commotion among the crowd.

“It seems like he’s given up on making it into the top 20.”

“Isn’t it obvious? He would’ve challenged the person in 20th place if he’s aiming to enter the top 20. He’s only trying to get a better rank now… After all, the higher the ranking, the better the rewards.”

“So he chose the 24th place, the top rank among those who lost the second bout of the final round?”

Meanwhile, Su Li was as calm as usual despite being the first to be challenged during this bout. He won his match in the end, but he barely managed to secure his victory and secure his rank. He was injured despite his win; his opponent’s attack had landed on him, causing him to spit out two mouthfuls of blood.

When Su Li returned to his seat, Duan Ling Tian asked worriedly, “Are you okay?”

“It’s not a big deal.” Su Li smiled faintly. “I’ll take a few medicinal pills and recover very soon.”

After taking the medicinal pills, Su Li closed his eyes and waited for his injuries to heal.

According to the rules of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses, the next challenger was not allowed to challenge Su Li. He would be given time to rest and heal for the duration of one match. This applied to everyone who was challenged.

Although those at the bottom could only challenge the participant in 20th place at most, if the participant in 20th place was unable to be challenged, an exception would be made, and they could challenge the person in 19th place. This applied for those in 10th and 9th place as well.

While Su Li was nursing his injuries, the 29th participant, who was not confident about challenging the person who ranked 20th, challenged the participant in 25th place since he could not challenge Su Li. His opponent was almost evenly matched with him, but in the end, he won. With that, he rose from 29th place to 25th place while his opponent fell from 25th place to 26th place. Those behind 26th place fell one rank accordingly.

The next participant decided to challenge Su Li, who had just recovered, but Su Li managed to defend his rank.

After that, those in 28th, 27th, and 26th place stepped forward one after another to challenge their opponents. The person who rose from the 29th to 25th place was not allowed to issue a challenge since he had just done so.

At this time, there were a few people who challenged the participant in 20th place, but none of them succeeded. After a while, the participant in 22nd place finally managed to defeat the 20th participant, pushing the 20th participant down to the 21st place.

With this, the participant who had just been pushed down to the 22nd place can issue a challenge. If he wanted to raise his rank, he could only change the participants in 20th or 21st place. However, since these two participants had just fought, he was prohibited from challenging them. With this, he could only give up challenging someone and wait for someone else to challenge him or he could challenge the person in 19th place. In the end, he was ambitious enough to challenge the person in 19th place. However, one’s ambitions would only come true if they were backed by strength. He was not strong enough and was defeated by the participant in 19th place.

At this time, Xu Kong Hai called out for the participant in 18th place to step forward.

“I want to challenge the person in 12th place.” Number 18 was very ambitious as well. He had challenged the first person ranked below the 11 participants with strength comparable to Five Star Gods of War.

The participant in 12th place was called Meng Fan Gui. He was the first person to reveal the strength of a top Four Star God of War during the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses. He was from a heaven-grade sect, the Profound Dream Sect, in the Pavilion Shaft Heaven that specialized in illusory techniques. In fact, his true strength was not that of a top Four Star God of War; he only possessed such strength thanks to his Emperor Grade Celestial Weapon that had a soul.

“Meng Gui Fan, you are just lucky you come from a powerful sect that provided you with an Emperor Celestial Weapon with a weapon spirit. Your weapon is the only reason you’ve made it this far.” Meng Fan Gui’s opponent was a black-clad young man with a devilishly handsome appearance. He sneered as he said, “Do you are to fight me, Yuan Hao Jun, without using that Emperor Grade Celestial Emperor.”

1

“Stop talking,” Meng Fan Gui said indifferently, “You’re humiliating yourself with such lousy provocation. So what if I come from a powerful sect? Luck is one’s ability as well.. You can stay in whatever godforsaken place you came from and continue being jealous and envious of me.”
