War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

Everyone watched as Duan Ling Tian hovered above Yu Dong Fang with a gray sword beneath his feet. The sword looked strange; as it flashed, the void around it seemed to distort and ripple. It was as though it contained spatial energy. Following that, a sword ray shot out, leaving a tear in the void.

“How did you escape?” Yu Dong Fang looked at Duan Ling Tian with a horrified expression. He was certain he had trapped Duan Ling Tian earlier. It was impossible for Duan Ling Tian to teleport out of the cage he had weaved since he had intentionally disrupted the void within the cage. How did Duan Ling Tian escape? Did Duan Ling Tian really manage to teleport or did Duan Ling Tian utilize another skill?

There were some people who could guess how Duan Ling Tian had escaped and avoided the attack; needless to say, they were all impressed.

As for those who could not figure out what was going on, they did not think much of it. In their opinion, it was not shocking since Duan Ling Tian comprehended the law of space.

Duan Ling Tian continued hovering in the air as he responded indifferently, “That was a nice move, disturbing the void to prevent me from teleporting. If I didn’t master the Space Sword Dao, it would’ve been impossible for me to escape, and I would have to bear the brunt of the attack.”

“Space Sword Dao?” Yu Dong Fang’s expression turned unsightly. He did not expect Duan Ling Tian had also formed and comprehended the Space Sword Dao.

“The Space Sword Dao has both the Sword Dao and the law of space,” Duan Ling Tian said, “You stopped me from teleporting by disturbing the void, but you didn’t expect I’d be able to calm disturbance in the void with my Space Sword Dao before teleporting out of the cage. Since you said that we’ll decide the match with one move, it should be my turn now that you’re done with yours…”

Yu Dong Fang’s expression changed drastically upon hearing these words. In just a second, the golden orb hanging at his back swiftly expanded and shrouded him as hundreds and thousands of sword rays circled him. It looked like a solid defense, and it was clear he was going all out to withstand Duan Ling Tian’s attack.

The crowd fell silent immediately as they looked at the calm purple figure in the battle ring. In contrast, Yu Dong Fang was glowing so brightly that he looked like an immortal who had descended on the mortal realm to chase away the darkness.

Bang!

When Duan Ling Tian made his move, everyone was surprised since it was so simple; they had expected some ostentatious technique. Instead, all Duan Ling Tian did was bring his hand down.

Bang!

Despite the simple move, a thunderous explosion rang in the air and the void shook and rippled when Duan Ling Tian’s hand fell. Following that, sword rays that seemed like they appeared out of thin air began to shoot out one after another.

The sword rays that contained the law of space seemed to have merged with the void as they flew out. If one did not look closely, one would not be able to see the sword rays.

At this time, someone suddenly cried out, “Duan Ling Tian’s attack landed!”

The sword rays landed on Yu Dong Fang. In just an instant, the golden light around him surged and intensified. The sword rays continued to circle him as though they were fortifying his defenses.

Contrary to everyone’s expectations, there were no dramatic clashes. There were only soft and strange noises.

Yu Dong Fang’s defenses showed no sign of dimming. However, Duan Ling Tian’s attack easily breached his defenses like a hot knife through butter. It was as though his defenses were not there at all! Upon seeing this, he was stunned.

The crowd only saw Yu Dong Fang again when the golden light finally vanished along with the sword rays. Shock and disbelief filled their eyes in just an instant. They were quickly replaced with terror when they shifted their eyes to Duan Ling Tian; it was as though they were looking at a terrifying beast.

Yu Dong Fang’s body was riddled with wounds, and he was drenched in blood! The wounds were all cuts left behind by Duan Ling Tian’s sword rays. If the cuts were any deeper, he would have died. After he regained his senses, he hurriedly healed his injuries by circulating his Celestial Origin Energy. Soon enough, he managed to heal all the cuts. Following that, when he looked at Duan Ling Tian again, he was no longer arrogant like before. Instead, a complex expression could be seen on his face as he looked at Duan Ling Tian. He was aware that Duan Ling Tian had shown mercy. Otherwise, he would have died. Before he returned to his seat, he spat out two words. “Thank you.”

Yu Dong Fang was defeated just like that.

At this time, most people only looked at the defeated Yu Dong Fang briefly before they shifted their attention back to Duan Ling Tian. All of them were in shock and disbelief. No one expected the young man who was only slightly over 600 years to be so strong.

“This… As expected of the only true disciple of the legendary Heavenly Emperor of the Solitary Destructive Heaven!”

“Only someone like him is worthy of becoming the only true disciple of the legendary Heavenly Emperor Feng Qing Yang!”

“His strength is really terrifying! Yu Dong Fang’s attack isn’t something that ordinary Five Star Gods of War can withstand, and yet, Duan Ling Tian easily dodged it. Duan Ling Tian must be as strong as a top Five Star God of War. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to defeat Yu Dong Fang so easily!”

“Based on the strength he has shown so far, he should only be second to Huang Quan An.”

Everyone did not doubt Duan Ling Tian’s strength was comparable to a top Five Star God of War and could easily overpower those ordinary Five Stars God of War. After all, Yu Dong Fang was stronger than ordinary Five Star Gods of War.

“Yu Dong Fang lost two matches consecutively after he revealed his strength…”

“First, he lost to Huang Quan An, and now, he lost to Duan Ling Tian. How’s he so unlucky?”

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s traumatized by this experience…” someone said to lighten the atmosphere

…

When Ding Fu, the Heavenly Emperor of the Primeval Heaven, regained his senses, he could not help but look at Feng Qing Yang in awe as he asked, “Brother Feng, Junior Nephew Duan’s strength is truly remarkable… Did he go all out or is he still holding back?”

Feng Qing Yang only smiled meaningfully in response.

Ding Fu was further shocked. Based on Feng Qing Yang’s expression, he knew Duan Ling Tian must still be holding back his strength.

…

At the same time, on one of the floating islands.

“I must have his body!”

Great Master Miyan, who had possessed Ru Lai, stared at Duan Ling Tian greedily.

Duan Ling Tian had impressed him during all his matches. With this, his desire to possess Duan Ling Tian grew even stronger than before. He really wished he could make a move now.

…

‘The Title Temple must have Duan Ling Tian!’

Similarly, despite his outwardly calm appearance, Xu Kong Hai, the Vice Temple Master of the main Title Temple was thoroughly impressed by Duan Ling Tian.

Duan Ling Tian’s performance had exceeded his expectations. His usage of the Space Sword Dao and the law of space was impeccable for him to escape Yu Dong Fang’s attack unharmed. Even some top Five Star Gods of War were not capable of such a feat.

…

When Duan Ling Tian returned to his seat, Tang San Pao looked at him with bright eyes and said with a smile, “Duan Ling Tian, you surprise us every time you fight… Do you still have any tricks up your sleeve?”

“Don’t worry, I’ll challenge you when it’s my turn to do so. You’ll know at that time,” Duan Ling Tian replied with a smile.

Duan Ling Tian had assumed Tang San Pao would refuse. Contrary to his expectations, Tang San Pao, who usually liked to joke around, solemnly said, “I’ll be waiting then…”

Xu Kong Hai caught everyone’s attention again as he said, “Liu Xu Yan, the tenth participant, please step forward.”

Liu Xu Yan was the last to reveal her strength that was comparable to a Five Star God of War. She was also one of only two women to have advanced to the final round of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses.
