The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 651: Chapter 653: We Will Try Our Best to Have a Child

Xia Xiaonuan’s eyes lit up: ”Grandfather, really?”

”Of course, when have my words, Nangong Jinlie’s, ever been ignored? Including this brat!” Nangong Jinlie said, pointing his cane at Nangong Yaoling.

Nangong Yaoling swiftly dodged, seeing the triumphant look in Xia Xiaonuan’s eyes, his face turned sullen.

”Grandfather, how could you...” Want him to agree to Xia Xiaonuan’s request? This woman would definitely give him a hard time! Who’s the real grandchild here?

”Why, don’t you believe my words?”

”I do... believe.” Nangong Yaoling warned Xia Xiaonuan with a look and added, ”But it can’t be something beyond my capabilities!”

Xia Xiaonuan smiled insincerely and said malevolently, ”Don’t worry, I’ll think it over carefully!”

Nangong: ”...”

”Come with me!” Nangong Jinlie stood up and headed upstairs.

Nangong Yaoling frowned helplessly, his gaze landing on Xia Xiaonuan. This woman was doing better than he had expected; he had initially been worried that the reporters might make her cry.

It proved that this woman was braver than he had imagined!

But, when would she show a bit of vulnerability in front of him?

Xia Xiaonuan noticed him staring at her and mocked, ”Why are you looking at me? Don’t worry, I didn’t bring disgrace to you, Nangong Yaoling!”

Nangong Yaoling’s face darkened. He looked at her with a faint smile, ”I’ll need to watch the press conference content to be sure of that.”

With that, he turned and went upstairs.

With a troubled expression, he went upstairs.

Watching Nangong Yaoling’s back, Xia Xiaonuan suddenly had a thought.

Since Grandfather asked Nangong Yaoling to agree to one of her requests, could she ask him to release Liang Shaochen?

If so, Nangong Yaoling would have no chance to refuse and would have to comply.

A brief smile flashed across Xia Xiaonuan’s face, and she nodded.

She would bring it up to Nangong Yaoling soon!

During dinner, Nangong Jinlie suddenly said to Xia Xiaonuan and Nangong Yaoling, ”Ling’er, you and Xiaonuan have been married for a while now. It’s about time you had a child...”

Xia Xiaonuan, who was eating, suddenly choked and started coughing violently.

Nangong Yaoling frowned, quickly patting her back. The butler hurriedly poured a glass of water, which Nangong Yaoling took and handed to Xia Xiaonuan.

Nangong Jinlie said, ”Xiaonuan, Grandfather didn’t want to bring this up, fearing it would pressure you! But... since the reporters mentioned it today, I might as well use my seniority! You and Ling’er need to work hard to give me a great-grandchild, understand?”

Xia Xiaonuan drank plain water and regained her composure.

She looked at Nangong Jinlie, ”Grandfather...”

”Alright, Grandfather, don’t worry, we will work hard on that,” Nangong Yaoling interrupted Xia Xiaonuan, smiling as he looked at Nangong Jinlie.

Nangong Jinlie nodded in satisfaction.

He looked at him seriously, ”You’ve upset Xiaonuan, and now she doesn’t want to have a child for you! You must make her happy. If I don’t get to hold a great-grandchild, I’ll settle the score with you!”

Xia Xiaonuan’s cheeks turned red like a tomato.

”Grandfather, this matter... didn’t you say it should happen naturally...”

”That was in front of the reporters!” Nangong Jinlie coldly looked at Xia Xiaonuan, deliberately putting on a stern face. ”Should I have told the reporters that I’m eagerly waiting for a great-grandchild but you two are letting me down?”

Nangong Yaoling’s face darkened.

Did he miss something at today’s press conference...?
