The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 551: Chapter 553: An Eye for an Eye

As he spoke, tension surged, his grip tightening suddenly.

Nangong Yaoling’s face changed, he quickly and nervously said, ”Calm down, don’t hurt her!”

His gaze fixed on Xia Xiaonuan, she was stunned, like a frightened doe, eyes wide and watery.

A flash of pain crossed his heart.

”Xiao He, you know better than anyone how much money you’ve embezzled from the company behind my back. I’ve already turned a blind eye and didn’t report you to the police, yet you repay me with betrayal!”

Xiao He’s emotions were intense, his eyes bloodshot as he shouted, ”How much have I contributed to this company? Since you took over, Nangong Yaoling, you’ve been removing all the company’s veterans to cultivate your cronies! Have you ever thought about our feelings?

Now that I’m old and useless to the company, you want to kick me out! All I ask for is a deputy director position, why can’t you give it to me?”

”Because you all are too greedy!” Nangong Yaoling said through gritted teeth, stepping forward cautiously, ”Your crimes are enough to warrant your death a hundred times over. Your greed knows no bounds! Xiao He, did you ever think that with my capabilities, getting rid of you would be a piece of cake? Why do you think I’ve kept you around?”

Xiao He pointed at Nangong Yaoling, ”Don’t come any closer!”

Nangong Yaoling raised his hands, ”Alright, I won’t come closer... just calm down! Xiao He, though your current position is just a financial manager, how many people are vying for it?

Why have I kept you? Isn’t it out of old sentiment?

Do you think it’s difficult for me, Nangong Yaoling, to remove someone?” He said slowly, his gaze locked onto the knife in Xia Xiaonuan’s hand.

A look of complexity and guilt flashed through Xiao He’s eyes, ”I... you... you won’t fool me! I won’t believe your lies!”

Xia Xiaonuan glared anxiously at Nangong Yaoling. What’s the use of saying so much?

If he doesn’t take action soon, she’ll really be killed!

Nangong Yaoling sensitively noticed Xiao He’s shift, ”Your target is me, you should know that I’ve already divorced this woman.

Hurting her brings no benefit to Nangong Empire! How about this, we switch. I’ll be your hostage, you can take me and leave here, to somewhere safe.

My people, for my safety, will definitely not harm you! But this woman is different. In a moment of crisis, they might not care so much!

I think you’re a smart man, you should know what choice to make, right?!”

Xia Xiaonuan’s eyes widened incredulously at Nangong Yaoling’s words.

Is he crazy?

Xiao He still has explosives on him, just a pull of the string and they’ll all be blown to pieces!

By exchanging himself as a hostage, isn’t he jumping into the fire pit?

Is he insane?

Xia Xiaonuan signaled desperately to Nangong Yaoling with her eyes.

No...

A trace of emotion appeared in Xiao He’s eyes, ”How can I trust you?”

”You have explosives on you. If you find out I’m lying, you can pull the string anytime and we’ll all die together! But I won’t lie to you! You were Mr. An’s most cherished subordinate. Back then, Mr. An lost his life saving me.

To this day, I still feel profound guilt.

So... rest assured, I won’t harm you! As long as you leave, you can go wherever you want, I will never pursue you again!” Nangong Yaoling said each word slowly and clearly.
