The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 555: Chapter 557: Are You Asking Me?

He spoke indifferently.

Xia Xiaonuan stepped forward, standing in front of him. Looking at his handsome face, she said, ”But... the Xia Group has already been affected. The company is in chaos now... If this continues, I’m afraid...” Although she knew it was somewhat embarrassing to talk to him about this at this moment.

However, he was the only person she could think of now. She couldn’t let her father’s company deteriorate like this.

”What are you afraid of?” Nangong Yaoling suddenly reached out and hooked her chin.

”Are you afraid that the Xia Family will get implicated? But... won’t the Nangong Empire get implicated as well? Why aren’t you concerned about me?”

Xia Xiaonuan was taken aback.

Indeed, the Nangong Empire would also be affected, but given its immense wealth and power, even if impacted, it wouldn’t be shaken to its core.

But the Xia Group was different.

After all, this incident was too shocking.

It involved the Nangong Empire, the Liang Family, and the Xia Group.

Among these three major corporations, the Xia Group was the weakest.

It was very likely to become the scapegoat in this event.

She couldn’t let the Xia Family be destroyed just because she and Nangong Yaoling got divorced.

”You... you’ll definitely have a solution.” A trace of embarrassment flickered across Xia Xiaonuan’s face, and she lowered her head as she spoke.

Nangong Yaoling’s fingertips tightened, causing her pain, and her brows furrowed slightly.

Inhaling, she could faintly sense his familiar scent.

The feeling between her and him seemed to change overnight; it was a subtle feeling, one that Xia Xiaonuan couldn’t quite understand why.

”Xia Xiaonuan, are you begging me?” Nangong Yaoling gazed at her, raising an eyebrow, and asked word by word.

His pupils were deep and bright, with a hint of amusement playing on his lips as he smiled and asked.

Xia Xiaonuan’s body inexplicably stiffened.

A trace of embarrassment flashed across her face, ”I...”

”Is this the attitude you take when begging someone?” Nangong Yaoling suddenly leaned closer, lowering his face.

She quickly turned her face away as his warm breath brushed past, making the roots of her ears heat up and her entire face inexplicably redden. She took a quick step back, only to lose her balance, and Nangong Yaoling’s palm suddenly guided her, pulling her directly into his embrace.

Xia Xiaonuan struggled immediately, but he swiftly turned, kicking the door shut, and then pressed her heavily against the door.

Xia Xiaonuan felt dizzy from his actions, but as she regained her senses, his kiss had already landed behind her ear.

Her whole body trembled, and she quickly said, ”I... I’m fine now...”

Nangong Yaoling kissed her earlobe, then slowly lifted his face.

His handsome face had a slight flush, like he was tipsy, looking at her ambiguously.

”I haven’t done anything to you yet. Why are you so tense?”

”...”

He reached out his hand, his warm fingertips gently tracing her cheek, wandering to behind her ear, slowly sliding over her skin like an electric current, his warm, dry palm gently brushing over her neck.

”Many people are asking for my help. If you are sincere, I might consider it. After all, we have nothing to do with each other now. You are not my wife anymore. Tell me, why should I help you?”

He stared at her without blinking, raising an eyebrow as he asked.

Xia Xiaonuan felt her entire body enveloped by his aura, and scenes of their past intimacy flashed involuntarily through her mind.

Especially his intense gaze, which, although serious, seemed tinged with a hint of sensuality.

It made her feel utterly hot all over.
