The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 581: Chapter 583: An Inexplicable Feeling

Xia Zhennan quickly said, ”This has nothing to do with the Liang Family, it’s all the reporters making things up... For Mr. Liang to say this, I’m truly grateful.”

Xia Xiaonuan was pouring tea beside them, listening to their conversation. She accidentally spilled hot water on her hand.

She cried out in surprise and dropped the cup.

Liang Shaochen rushed over and grabbed her quickly, ”Are you alright?”

Startled by Liang Shaochen’s actions, Xia Xiaonuan was taken aback. Liang Shaochen also realized something and quickly let go of her hand.

She lowered her head and said, ”I’ll just go to the restroom and handle this...” She turned and rushed out the door.

In the restroom, Xia Xiaonuan held her hand under the running water.

Her mind was in turmoil.

Just now, a strange thought suddenly popped into her mind, and for a moment, she felt like she had been struck by lightning.

Back then, at the orphanage, when she got scalded by hot water, Nan Mo had grabbed her hand like this and rushed to the water faucet.

His concerned look was so similar to what she just saw.

Could it be... Could it be that Liang Shaochen remembered something? Does he know something?

”Miss, are you done?” A female voice sounded behind her, bringing Xia Xiaonuan back to reality. She had been standing there for quite a while. Others needed to use the faucet too.

”I’m done... Sorry.” She left the restroom, feeling a bit dazed.

When she returned to the ward, Liang Shaochen was about to leave.

Mrs. Xia saw her and said, ”Xiaonuan, perfect timing, please see Shaochen out.”

Xia Xiaonuan looked at Mrs. Xia’s smiling face and Liang Shaochen’s expectant gaze. She nodded numbly.

”Alright...”

She and Liang Shaochen walked to the elevator together.

The elevator was crowded; at every floor, more people squeezed in. Among them, there was someone whose face was covered in red rashes and had a strange odor. Xia Xiaonuan stood at the side, and as that person squeezed in, they kept moving closer to her.

She frowned slightly. Liang Shaochen glanced at her, stepped forward, and directly used his body to shield her, guiding her closer to his side.

A warm current surged in Xia Xiaonuan’s heart. She looked up and met his gaze. His eyes shone, and they exchanged a knowing smile. The light green tea fragrance from him was pleasant; Xia Xiaonuan’s face was almost pressed against his chest.

Because the elevator was crowded, even being this close didn’t seem too awkward. She actually hoped the elevator would slow down so she could stay in his embrace longer.

However, with a ”ding,” the elevator door quickly opened.

Everyone walked out, and Liang Shaochen stepped aside to make way for her.

As they walked out of the hospital lobby, a breeze blew by.

Xia Xiaonuan stood at the entrance and said to him, ”Thank you for coming to see my father.”

”It’s what I should do.” Liang Shaochen stared at her, ”You...” He hesitated to continue.

Xia Xiaonuan was momentarily confused.

He finally asked, ”Can I ask you a question?”

”What question?” Her heart pounded, but she tried to appear calm.

”You and the Crown Prince... did you two really get a divorce?” Liang Shaochen gazed at her intently.

Xia Xiaonuan felt something inside her start to shake.

Looking at his handsome face, his eyes seemed to contain complex, indefinable emotions that pierced straight to her heart.

Her lowered hand clenched slightly. She wanted to speak, but it felt difficult.
