The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 556: Chapter 558: Startled Little Rabbit

The next second, she bit her lip, then suddenly extended her hand and forcefully pushed his body away.

”Nangong Yaoling, you... shameless!” she said angrily, her face flushed red as she glared at him hatefully before turning around and rushing out the door.

Nangong Yaoling didn’t give chase, simply leaning lazily against the door frame.

Watching her run away like a startled little rabbit, he curved his lips into a devastatingly beautiful smile.

Xia Xiaonuan, you will come back...

...

The elevator doors opened, and as the people inside walked out and Xia Xiaonuan stepped in, ready to close the door, suddenly a figure flashed by. The person wore sunglasses and a hat. Xia Xiaonuan was startled for a moment before the person had already rushed in.

Before she could see who it was, her wrist was grabbed. She froze.

What’s happening? She had just been kidnapped; could there be another thug?

She struggled hard, wanting to scream, but suddenly her lips were covered. A faint minty scent wafted over, and she reached out to forcibly tear at the person’s head. He let out a pained grunt. An urgent voice sounded above her: ”It’s me... Xiaonuan...”

Upon hearing the voice, Xia Xiaonuan stiffened all over.

The elevator doors had already closed, leaving only the two of them inside.

He slowly let go of her, and as Xia Xiaonuan raised her eyes, she saw Liang Shaochen taking off his sunglasses, looking at her with a complicated yet anxious expression.

”You...” she was completely stunned. Wasn’t he in the hospital? Why was he here?

”Are you alright?” Liang Shaochen gave her a once-over, asking worriedly.

Xia Xiaonuan felt her brain slow down by half a beat. Several seconds passed before she shook her head blankly: ”No... nothing...”

Seeing her state, Liang Shaochen realized that he’d gotten a bit too worked up. He quickly took a step back to keep his distance, an awkward expression flashing across his face as he said, ”I heard something happened here, and since there are many reporters outside, I...”

So you dressed up like some kind of special agent?

Xia Xiaonuan looked at Liang Shaochen and asked incredulously, ”You... your head...” She had been so agitated earlier that she had hit him several times.

Liang Shaochen adjusted his hat and smiled: ”It’s fine, my injury is almost healed.” He paused before adding, ”Though you did hit me pretty hard just now.”

That’s classic Qiqi for you—never holding back when dealing with bad guys.

Blushing, Xia Xiaonuan said awkwardly, ”Sorry... I didn’t know it was you.”

”I should be the one apologizing...” Liang Shaochen shook his head, his eyes reflecting the faintest hint of pain as he looked at the bandages around her neck: ”I heard you were abducted...”

Thinking of the earlier events, Xia Xiaonuan still felt a lingering fear.

”Yeah, luckily, I’m fine...” she replied, then looked at Liang Shaochen curiously. Did he come because he heard what happened to her?

”Did you come from the hospital?”

”There were some issues at the company recently, so I was discharged a day early... I just finished dealing with them when I heard about this, and I was worried about you... and the Crown Prince, so I rushed over.”

Xia Xiaonuan felt a warm glow in her heart.

Thinking of something, her face turned pale again.

”You... you know everything?”

Seeing her nervous expression, Liang Shaochen laughed: ”I’ve read the reports in the newspapers. They’re just malicious media hype; I won’t pay any attention to them.”

Xia Xiaonuan couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

In the narrow elevator, it was just him and her. Vaguely, she could smell his scent, with a faint medicinal odor. She suddenly felt very warm, as if she were dreaming.
