The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 569: Chapter 571: Why Are You Shy When I Didn’t Even Take Everything Off?

He already loathed her long ago, didn’t he?

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have forced her to divorce!

But... when she thought of the moment he exchanged hostages for her, something soft in her heart seemed to unfurl bit by bit.

What that was exactly, she couldn’t say.

But there was one thing she believed in.

Given the current situation, both the Xia Family and Liang Family were already in a state of turmoil.

There was no need for Nangong Yaoling to step in and make things worse; they were already on the brink of collapse.

She bit her lower lip, feeling the lingering touch of his palm on her neck. She reached out and wiped her neck with the back of her hand.

However, his scent still lingered in the air, difficult to shake off.

With a helpless sigh, she bit her lip and turned to look at the man on the bed.

He lay there with his hands clasped behind his head, looking calm and relaxed, as if the tense moment earlier was just an illusion.

She felt a surge of resentment but could only move her lips slightly instead of speaking.

Then she turned and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window.

The window reflected her image; her face was pale with a hint of blush. She reached up and pretended to fiddle with her hair in front of her forehead.

Her gaze then fell on his reflection on the bed.

Was he really asleep?

How was she supposed to get through this long night?

Was she actually expected to share the bed with him? No way...

To her, this man was like a dangerous creature, a ticking time bomb.

She’d better keep her distance from him.

But... surely she couldn’t sleep on the floor?

Xia Xiaonuan sat on the sofa, looking around the room.

The European-style bed, the room decor, everything was understated and luxurious.

The golden Italian velvet carpet beneath her feet felt soft and comfortable against her toes.

She absentmindedly rubbed her foot against the carpet with her slipper, pondering that since Old Sir Nangong liked her, perhaps she could ask him for help to get the Xia Family through this crisis?

Asking Nangong Yaoling would surely result in him taking the opportunity to ask her to do this and that, just thinking about the last time at his company made her furious.

Instead, it would be better to seek help from Old Sir Nangong.

But... Old Sir Nangong, although he was very fond of her, didn’t seem like someone simple to deal with. If he knew she and Nangong Yaoling were divorced, he might not help her so easily.

As she was lost in her chaotic thoughts, the man lying on the bed suddenly spoke: ”If you have nothing else to do, turn off the light. I want to sleep.”

While speaking, he unbuttoned his shirt, casually taking it off.

Underneath, he wore a white vest that exposed his well-built chest and a hint of wild, sexy chest hair.

Xia Xiaonuan glared at him in dissatisfaction: ”It’s still so early, you... you’re already going to sleep?”

Nangong Yaoling glanced at her as if she was speaking nonsense: ”What else am I supposed to do if not sleep? Stay up and stare at you till dawn? If you like sitting there, suit yourself, but I’m going to sleep, okay?”

As Nangong Yaoling spoke, he started to unbuckle his belt, about to take off his pants.

”Hey...” Xia Xiaonuan’s face went dark: ”It’s just the two of us here...”

”So what?” Nangong Yaoling glanced at her: ”I’m not completely naked, so what are you embarrassed about?”

Xia Xiaonuan: ”...”

As he spoke, he had already removed his suit trousers, leaving only a pair of boxers that explicitly exposed that area to her.
