Chapter 514: Chapter 516: Deep in Memory, You 2

Nangong Yaoling nodded.

For some reason, a trace of disappointment flashed in his eyes.

”Alright, let’s eat.” He said with a faint smile.

Outside the window, someone started to set off fireworks.

Nangong Yaoling looked outside, and the girls passing by couldn’t help but scream.

Jiang Xue seemed not to notice and continued eating.

He suddenly remembered that time on the yacht when he celebrated Xia Xiaonuan’s birthday.

He would never forget how excited Xia Xiaonuan looked when she saw the fireworks.

It was really cute.

A trace of softness flashed in Nangong Yaoling’s eyes.

”They’re setting off fireworks outside, do you want to take a look?” Nangong Yaoling asked as he looked at Jiang Xue.

”No, there’s nothing worth seeing. Those people are so noisy.” Jiang Xue glanced outside with contempt in her eyes.

Nangong Yaoling smiled and said nothing more.

...

Back home, the whole house was left with only one person.

Nangong Yaoling looked at the Christmas tree inside.

He walked to the Christmas tree and picked up a Santa Claus ornament from it.

In his mind, that night fifteen years ago emerged.

”Mr. Cheng, you’re hurt, and there are many people chasing us...” The young Nangong Yaoling didn’t yet understand the dark sides of business, how to be a dominant force meant crushing numerous enterprises and climbing up step by step over countless corpses.

At that time, the Nangong Empire was just preparing to establish a new industrial chain domestically, thus offending many enemies.

At that time, he was on vacation, had returned from the United States, and his grandfather asked him to learn from Mr. An.

Only, that night they met clients at the hotel, and then more than a dozen people came at them with knives.

The bodyguards rushed forward, while the acting domestic director Mr. An Zongcheng took him into the car and told the driver to drive away.

However, some sharp-eyed ones chased after them.

At that time, several cars chased them, and their car was forced into an alley.

Two bodyguards rushed forward, Mr. An Zongcheng led him inside, Mr. An’s shoulder got slashed, and he pulled him along as they ran, the hot blood from his hand flowing into his palm.

Nangong Yaoling was only fifteen years old then.

Mr. An hid him in a garbage bin and told him not to come out.

Mr. An ran to the other side, but got caught, and was hacked to death with multiple knives on the spot.

Nangong Yaoling would never forget Mr. An’s screams at the time, under the dim streetlight next to the stinking garbage bin, he pinched his nose, knowing he couldn’t go out, if he did, he’d end up like Mr. An.

However, he was too scared, his body uncontrollably shivering, a burly man chasing from this side found him and yanked him up with a knife in hand.

He kicked that man hard in the leg, still clutching a brick and smashed it onto the man’s head.

The man didn’t expect such ferocity from a scared boy, stunned for a moment. Blood flowed from his head, he yelled and chased after.

Nangong Yaoling ran for his life, but was caught after a few steps.

The man, with his face covered in blood, grabbed him and kicked him wildly; the man was tall and strong, and since Nangong Yaoling had exhausted himself from running, he soon collapsed beaten.

”Brat, so you’re the future heir of the Nangong Empire? Your little life is worth a fortune, enough for me to enjoy for lifetimes! Today, it’s your death day. Don’t blame me!”

He felt himself about to pass out, his mouth filled with blood, his vision blurred, he watched the man raise an iron rod to smash his head, he closed his eyes but suddenly heard a woman’s voice shouting from afar.
