The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 502: Chapter 504: Crawling into a Box to Escape

Nangong Zhongli’s eyes reddened: ”Of course I know, he doesn’t love me. But... this is my only chance, I can’t give up again! Besides, he remembers nothing now; this is when he needs help the most!”

”But what he needs, will never be you!” Nangong Yaoling tried to shatter Nangong Zhongli’s delusions with the coldest words.

Nangong Zhongli looked at him, wounded: ”Brother... I’m your sister, don’t you want me to be happy?”

”It’s precisely because I want you to be happy that I don’t want you to entangle yourself with him anymore! Zhongli.” Nangong Yaoling said with a firm chin.

Nangong Zhongli was slightly annoyed: ”I don’t care, he is my happiness! Anyway, I forbid you to mention Qiqi in front of him again! Also... Brother, what is going on with you and Jiang Xue?”

Nangong Yaoling frowned slightly: ”Leave that matter to me.”

”But it concerns Xiaonuan... Xiaonuan will be deeply hurt if she finds out!”

”She would be hurt?” Nangong Yaoling sneered, would Xia Xiaonuan be hurt for him? He felt a flash of anger thinking about her indifferent expression this morning.

”Enough! My affairs are none of your concern. Take care of yourself!” With that, Nangong Yaoling turned and left.

Nangong Zhongli: ...

...

In a few days, it would be Christmas.

A Christmas tree was brought into the house and placed in the living room. The servants were overjoyed. Everyone spent the whole day wrapping gift boxes and candies, and decorating the big tree.

”Young mistress, come join us! This tree was specially sent by the young master, surely for you!” One of the maids said excitedly as she looked at her.

Xia Xiaonuan shook her head and sat on the sofa: ”You go ahead. I’ll just watch.”

There were many Christmas hats in the box, each servant got one, along with various other Christmas decorations.

It was her first time preparing for Christmas in such a lively way, but it was the least she had ever looked forward to it.

Did Nangong Yaoling think that by getting her these things, he could keep her caged like a canary?

Xia Xiaonuan bit her lip.

Suddenly, she looked at the large box the workers had put down.

Her mind started racing with ideas.

Later in the evening, the workers would take the box outside.

If... if she got into the box, could she escape?

The thought excited Xia Xiaonuan instantly.

She eyed the large box in the corner and the busy workers beside it.

She walked over.

Turning to a nearby maid: ”I forgot my phone upstairs when I came down. Could you fetch it for me?”

The maid was slightly taken aback, then quickly smiled: ”Of course, young mistress!” She hurriedly went upstairs in a flash.

Because the Christmas tree was so large, it blocked everyone’s view. This box was used for rubbish and was already packed, ready to be taken out.

Xia Xiaonuan seized the moment while everyone was distracted, and opened the box.

She climbed in.

The box was filled with foam and planks. It made her sneeze several times. Fortunately, it was too noisy outside for anyone to notice.

She reached out and closed the lid. Then she covered her head with a foam bag.

The box was over a meter high—she crouched down inside, just fitting.

It was pitch dark inside the box. After a while, she heard a maid outside ask curiously: ”Where did the young mistress go? I couldn’t find her phone.” Xia Xiaonuan took out her phone, which was with her all along.
