The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 44: Chapter 44: Whoever Destroys Her Dream of Being a Salted Fish, She’ll Thwart Them Like Thanos

As for Old Master Song protecting other women in front of her, Song Ci herself didn’t have much feeling about it. After all, she had no feelings for this man.

But if he wants to take in a second wife, that won’t do. Isn’t that clearly just going to mess up her family?

Song Ci knew that disputes were common in big families, mainly because of the number of people and the chaotic chatter. With many so-called masters, naturally, there are more disputes. After all, everyone has personal interests and wants to seek benefits for themselves.

Is it only at the court that people vie for power and profits? No, the backyard and the harem are likewise battlegrounds for power struggles, sometimes even darker and bloodier than the outside. The methods of the women would endlessly emerge.

Combining her own memories with what she had learned openly and secretly from Nanny in the palace, Song Ci naturally knew that the Song Family was one of the few peaceful families in the capital, without much nonsensical mess. It was not because the Song Family, a rising noble from a poor family, did not understand, but because the Song Family did not have many people.

At present, the Song Family, although there are concubines, they are the Old Master Song’s two concubines, who have not borne children and are merely lowly concubines for entertainment, the kind that could be sold off to marry at any time, unable to stir up any trouble.

Meanwhile, the second generation of the Song Family, three of them married, none have taken concubines, so all their children are legitimate. As a result, all the masters combined can be counted with two hands, naturally keeping the household peaceful.

But if there comes a second wife, a proper good concubine that can be listed in the family genealogy and whose sale is documented, such a person, if scheming, could easily overshadow your legitimate children, even replace them.

Song Ci admitted she was not some expert in household conflict; she had no interest in engaging in household battles. After all, at her age, spending mental energy to fight, was she in a hurry to die?

Song Ci had already thought it through these days. Whether or not she could return to the modern times was one thing; in these ancient days, with her status, she just wanted to be a respectable salted fish -- eat what she should eat, sleep what she should sleep, play what she should play, argue when she should argue, and just peacefully pass away at the end—this was quite good.

But if she had to engage in daily household battles, always guessing and fighting, with her weak body, it’s hard to say if she could endure it.

Therefore, she had to safeguard her peaceful days, like now, quiet, wealthy, and joyful.

That old scoundrel Song wouldn’t have a chance to mess up her serenity!

Anyone who stands in the way of her dream of being a salted fish will be snapped like Thanos.

Also, since she occupied the original owner’s body, she had a tiny responsibility to keep things for her sons.

Thinking of this, Song Ci couldn’t help but give the plump old man a fierce glare.

”Let me tell you, you old bastard, as long as I’m here, you can forget about taking any concubines or second wives. This Song Family belongs to my sons, and it won’t be split in half. You want to make the children embarrassed, but I won’t allow it, and I don’t want people laughing at my eldest son. Also, my fourth son hasn’t married yet. If the girl hears she has to serve some small mother, she’s going to shake her head, and I won’t allow it.”

Song Zhiyu’s eyes darted, and he said, ”Dad, there’s nothing wrong with you taking a concubine, but don’t ever have a child. I like being the youngest.”

The last child and the apple of the eye, if another apple comes, he wouldn’t be happy.

”If a child is born, Su’er would have to call some nursing little runt uncle or aunt in the future, haha... ow!.” Song Zhiyu held his head and looked at his father with grievance: ”Look at you, I said just a few words and you throw a bun at me. If you have another child, I’d have no status in this family. I won’t stand for it!”

Everyone: ”...”

Stupidity can be hereditary.
