The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 12: Chapter 12 Grandma Becomes Generous

Song Ci liked all beautiful things, including people; she loved both beautiful women and handsome men.

At the moment, two handsome young boys were sitting by her feet, massaging her legs, making her beam with joy.

”You don’t need to do this, Grandmother loves you very much already.” Song Ci said with a smile, gently touching the topknots of both boys and withdrawing her feet slightly, ”Come on, get up, don’t hurt your hands.”

Song Lingzhao and his twin brother exchanged a glance, somewhat surprised at how eloquent Grandmother was today, and they replied with smiles, ”Serving Grandmother with filial piety doesn’t hurt at all.”

Song Ci was deeply moved, her heart softened even more, and she said, ”Good children.”

Madam Song, standing to one side, laughed and said, ”Mother, Zhao’er and Jie’er are so filial, you must reward the brothers generously.”

Song Ci also remembered that as elders, they habitually rewarded the younger generation for fun.

”Reward, they must be rewarded.”

As the saying goes, one does not cherish what isn’t theirs. Song Ci thought that the original owner had lived in luxury for so many years, she should have some private savings, and since it’s not hers now, rewarding her descendants seemed appropriate.

Song Ci looked at Nanny, blinking with a quick-to-reward look in her eyes.

Nanny stepped forward with a smile, and said, ”What does Madam wish to reward the Second Young Master and Third Young Master with?”

Song Ci looked at the twins, ”What do you both like?”

The twins froze a little, feeling as if they were really going to be given whatever they wanted. Since when had Grandmother become so generous?

They looked at their mother, who shook her head slightly, and they said, ”We’re not picky, whatever Grandmother rewards us with, we will be happy.”

This stumped Song Ci a bit; being new here, how was she to know what would be appropriate to give?

However, didn’t she have her personal secretary?

She looked again at Nanny, who then said, ”The Second Young Master likes martial arts, there’s a black dagger in Madam’s treasury, how about rewarding him with that? As for the Third Young Master, who likes literature, there’s also a fine piece of Cloud Smoke Ink; it’s up to Madam if she is willing to part with it.”

Madam Song’s pupils constricted slightly upon hearing Cloud Smoke Ink, though her smile remained unchanged, her eyes were burning with interest.

”What’s there to hold back? All my things will be theirs in the future. Reward them.” Song Ci said with great generosity.

Madam Song’s heart gave a sudden beat, resentfully glancing at her younger daughter, a foolish one, if she had come to massage too, she might have gotten the ink.

Speaking of which, although Madam Song was born into an honored family and now held a high position, she’s not lacking in good items. Naturally, she wouldn’t be reluctant over a piece of ink.

But fine Cloud Smoke Ink was already rare, mostly found in the collections of scholarly and noble families. Unexpectedly, Madam had it here and was giving it to the third son. If Su’er had been there, using this ink, he undoubtedly would write better characters.

Madam Song couldn’t admit it, but she felt a bit sour.

Song Ci, however, hadn’t forgotten her granddaughter, pointing to Song Ruqi, saying, ”And this child, don’t forget about her. I seem to recall a red bracelet in the jewelry box; she has fair skin, let’s give it to her. It will look bright and beautiful on the young girl.”

Nanny glanced at Song Ruqi, smiling and nodded, and then instructed the maid to bring it together.

Hearing this, whatever little resentment Madam Song had inside her vanished instantly, she playfully chided Song Ruqi, ”Qi’er, aren’t you going to thank your Grandmother? The things she owns are all rare treasures.”

Song Ruqi hadn’t expected that just by sitting there, she would receive a reward, she couldn’t help but be a bit surprised.

Receiving someone’s gift, naturally, it wouldn’t do to have a long face. She stood up, respectfully saluted to Song Ci, thanked her, and when she received the round and smooth bracelet, the joyful smile on her face was impossible to hide.
