The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Do You Have the Vitality to Take a Young Wife, Elder?

Song Zhiyu’s words caused the room to fall silent.

”Old Fourth, what nonsense are you spouting?” Song Zhiyuan frowned, glaring at his younger brother.

Song Zhiyu shrunk his neck and mumbled, ”Then what’s the good news? Could it be that Father is taking another concubine? Heh, in that case, Father, you’re certainly old but vigorous.”

The latter part of his words seemed somewhat suggestive, causing several women to blush.

”That’s right.” The old master of the Song Family clapped his hands and said, ”I’m going to bring you all a new young stepmother.”

Bring a young stepmother.

The air suddenly turned quiet.

Everyone looked fearfully at Song Ci beside the old master of the Song Family.

”Mother, what does bringing a young stepmother mean?” Song Lingzhou was a daring fool, asking his mother.

Madam Lu covered his mouth with a hand, looking at the old master awkwardly while tugging at the corners of her mouth, feeling somewhat shameful and annoyed.

Equally embarrassed and annoyed were the first and second Madams of the Song Family. If you insist on taking a concubine, so be it, but saying it in front of your daughters-in-law and children just goes too far.

Song Ci was also angered. This shameless old scoundrel, what, a young stepmother?

With two pretty maids attending him not enough, he wanted to take another one. It must be that so-called peony and osmanthus little vixen.

Song Ci put down her chopsticks, ”First attend to the young master and young ladies returning to the courtyard.”

The first Madam of the Song Family immediately gave Nanny Fang a wink, who then led the children out, along with the maids stepping out.

Once the children were gone, the adults remained, and only then did Song Ci look at the old master of the Song Family, sneering without smiling, ”Thinking of taking a young stepmother?”

Grinding her teeth audibly.

The old master met her gaze, feeling a bit guilty, but thinking of his peony flower, he lifted his chin and said, ”That’s right, it’s Lady Peony. I want to take her as a second wife. Help arrange it, no need to invite many people, just call the in-laws to witness and recognize faces.”

”Song Kun, what makes you think I’d agree for you to take a second wife?” Song Ci grabbed a chopstick and tossed it at him, rising to her feet, ”Because you’ve got a big face? You say take and then you take, where’s your confidence? Dare to say this once in front of your parents’ tablets in the ancestral hall? If it doesn’t anger them out of their graves, I’ll admit defeat.”

A perfectly united family about to split apart, is he mad?

”I’m just taking a second wife, what’s wrong with that, you’re just being jealous.”

”So what if I’m jealous, divorce me then, I dare you!” Song Ci sneered, ”Who was it that said I shouldn’t die back then, saying it’s not easy for the eldest son to become a prime minister, and now at this point, slapping your own face so hard it doesn’t hurt? Want to take a second wife, and invite the in-laws to witness? Oh my, you with your round belly and fat meat, you aren’t ashamed, but I am.”

Song Zhiyuan placed his hands on his legs, his expression still gentle and calm, but his eyes were somewhat cold. Lady Peony, could she really be so skilled as to charm Father into taking her as a second wife?

The old master of the Song Family felt a bit guilty, not daring to look at his eldest son, muttering, ”Just taking a concubine...”

”A properly elevated second wife isn’t just any concubine, you still want to take a young stepmother, is your old waist up to it?”

Song Ci nearly choked on her breath, speaking to Nanny Gong, ”Go and bring me that peony, I need to see how she bewitched this idiotic old man, or which family sent this spy, trying to disturb our Song Family’s home, letting outsiders laugh at us, she wants my eldest son to call her young stepmother, pah, as if she’s worthy!”

Nanny Gong responded and went out.

The old master of the Song Family sighed and said, ”She’s just outside, don’t scare her.”

Everyone: ”...”

He really is an idiot, defending another woman in front of his old wife, is he asking for death!
