The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Heaven is big, Earth is big, but Grandma is the biggest

Madam Song was coaxed into a good mood, standing under the corridor watching Song Zhiyuan leave, she held the hand of her trusted nanny with a smile as she walked back into the house.

The Nanny Fang glanced at her and joined in with a smile, ”Now that the Grand Madam has awakened, you can be at ease too, Madam, you finally have a smile on your face.”

Madam Song sat down, touched her cheek, and said, ”This great burden on my heart can indeed be set down. Nanny Fang, later take two taels of bird’s nest from my storage and stew it in the small kitchen, I’ll take it to my mother tonight.”

”Two taels?”

Madam Song nodded and said while holding the tea, ”It’s not just two taels, this bird’s nest can nourish her body for a long time, and I would even get two hundred pounds for her. The past two days, you know, how could I dare to truly close my eyes and sleep?”

Nanny Fang, being her dowry maid and having been with her since childhood, naturally understood her meaning and said, ”Madam, you can be at ease now. You have indeed weathered the storm.”

The Prime Minister’s wife, with the status of an Imperial Decree, her honor follows her husband’s nobility, and from now on only others will pay heed to her demeanor.

Madam Song became somewhat emotional, holding her hand, her eyes slightly reddened as she said, ”Nanny, I know people outside have been waiting to see me make a fool of myself, saying that I, Gu Xiangyi, have no luck or fortune, they spoke so maliciously, now they must be gnashing their teeth and tearing up countless handkerchiefs.”

Nanny Fang gently patted her hand to comfort her.

”Thus, Nanny, no matter how much I dislike her, I must honor her, hoping she lives a long life. As long as she lives, the Prime Minister will still be the Prime Minister, and I, Gu Xiangyi, will be the Prime Minister’s wife.” Madam Song straightened her back.

Nanny Fang pondered for a moment and said, ”The Grand Madam may be crude and was once a child bride, having gone through hardships, without her strength, how would there be today’s Song Family? Madam, don’t blame this old servant for speaking too much, compared to those haughty mothers-in-law from other grand families, the Grand Madam is much better, at least she hasn’t sent anyone into your room even after you bore two daughters. She’s confused in small matters, but have you ever seen her mess up in big ones? Now that she’s ill, to say something unfortunate, who knows how long her body can endure, the days she could oppose you are limited, why bother to mind it?”

”Good Nanny, I understand, I was young then, I wouldn’t dare in the future.” Madam Song said blushing, ”These years the Prime Minister has been single-hearted with me, which sister in the family isn’t envious of me? It’s just that my womb didn’t cooperate, only giving him one son, Su’er, if Qian’er and Qi’er were both sons, what would I have to worry about?”

Nanny Fang sighed too, for this was the only blemish on the Madam’s perfect life.

”The Prime Minister said, the Lu Courtyard’s doctor remarked that after this stroke, the lady may have some sequelae, perhaps her temperament may change a bit, Nanny Fang, you’ll keep an eye for me, any servant below not attentive in serving, regardless of whose person they are, replace them all with clever and proper ones. Also, add two more maidservants and old women to her courtyard.”

As vast as the heaven and earth, the mother-in-law is largest, especially at this juncture, she must serve the Grand Madam comfortably, wishing her a long life.

”Adding maidservants, why not look for a medical girl? First, she can attend to the Grand Madam’s health, second, having a medical girl in the house would also be convenient if the womenfolk faced any discomfort.” Nanny Fang suggested.

Madam Song’s eyes lit up, ”Why didn’t I think of that? Later I’ll go back to my maiden family and ask my father to find someone.”

Nanny Fang smiled and said, ”Madam, before asking Old Marquis, discuss with the Prime Minister, see if he knows any experts in this area, couples discussing matters together only strengthens the relationship.”

Madam Song nodded with a blush and softly said, ”He said to make a grand celebration for my birthday. Nanny, I am truly happy.”

Nanny Fang gently tidied the hair at her temples and smiled mildly, who wouldn’t be happy?
