Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

”When your condition improves, I’ll have Ye Feng handle everything,” Beitang Yao soothed her to sleep.

”Young Master Yao, you don’t need to worry about me. It’s the peak season for the company now, and you must have many remote meetings to host. You should go and take care of that first.” She gave him a reassuring smile.

”You got hurt because of me, I have no reason to ignore and neglect you.” The vulnerability in her smile tugged at Beitang Yao’s heart.

Xia Qingqian knew she didn’t need to deal with those who had harmed her; Beitang Yao would not let them off.

She looked at Beitang Yao with gratitude, her throat moved slightly, and she said softly, ”Young Master Yao, thank you for everything you’ve done for me, and thank you for not despising me for it.”

Her words touched his heart, leaving him unsure of how to respond. Her life had originally been peaceful and steady. But ever since she met him, everything changed.

”Keep in good spirits and don’t overthink. I’ll have Sister Huan come up to take care of you,” Beitang Yao said as he helped her lie down, gently arranged her legs, tucked the quilt, and then went out to call Sister Huan.

Watching Xia Qingqian fall asleep peacefully, Beitang Yao returned to the study, picked up the remote control, and started a remote meeting. Throughout the process, his mind was elsewhere, merely waiting for the people on the video to report various performance results.

Halfway through the video meeting, Sister Huan knocked on the door and came in, telling him that Xia Qingqian seemed off again. He quickly picked up the remote control and said to the computer, ”Alright, that’s it for today’s meeting. Dismissed.”

The people on the other side of the video were dumbfounded: This meeting hadn’t even reached its main points yet? Why was it suddenly over?

Beitang Yao put down the remote control, left the study, and returned to the room. As he walked, he asked, ”Sister Huan, what’s wrong with her?”

Sister Huan followed Beitang Yao’s stride, speaking softly, ”Miss Xia seems to have a fever again, but she won’t let me near her. Young Master, I’m sorry, I came to you because I have no other way!”

Upon hearing she had a fever again, he quickened his steps to the bedside, immediately noticing the beads of sweat on her forehead.

He took the clean towel from Sister Huan, sat down, and gently wiped the sweat from her forehead, holding her frail shoulders.

”Sister Huan, go make a bowl of ginger water, quickly.” Beitang Yao continued to wipe Xia Qingqian’s body, his gaze settled on her tightly knitted brows, stopping his hand on her forehead, trying to relax her expressions.

Ten minutes later, Sister Huan came in with a bowl of ginger water, and upon entering, she saw Young Master fastening Xia Qingqian’s pajama buttons, presumably after wiping her down.

She had been here for years and had never seen Young Master doing these things. She couldn’t associate these delicate tasks with their tall, cold, and handsome Young Master.

”Young Master, Miss Xia certainly relies on you. As soon as you personally attend to her, she calms down.” Only after Beitang Yao fed Xia Qingqian the bowl of ginger water did Sister Huan feel at ease and spoke lightly.

Beitang Yao handed the empty bowl to Sister Huan, his low voice resonating in the air: ”Sister Huan, go and change the water.”

”Oh, oh.” Sister Huan carried the basin from the bedside table, went into the bathroom, and came out with a fresh basin of warm water.

Sister Huan intended to take the towel from Young Master’s hands, but Beitang Yao turned around and placed the towel into the water, carefully wringing it out himself.
