Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

”Qian Qian, are you asleep?” Beitang Yao’s tone was very gentle, inexplicably stirring Xia Qingqian’s heart. As she hesitated whether she should answer him, the next moment she felt a chill as the blanket was already lifted.

When she regained her composure, she was nestled against a solid chest, her eyes reddening, misted with a gentle haze, meeting Beitang Yao’s concerned gaze.

She quickly turned her head away, unwilling to let him see her helpless look.

However, Beitang Yao did not comply, lifting her chin, forcing her to face him, as he softly said, ”I apologize for the promises I made but didn’t fulfill. I’m sorry.”

There was a time when he explicitly promised her that he would ensure she never got hurt again. Yet, staying by his side, she had experienced no shortage of hurt.

Xia Qingqian’s body froze, and tears rushed forth like a spring. She shook her head, her voice trembling, ”Young Master Yao, this has nothing to do with you...”

”Silly girl, why do you cry more fiercely?” Unable to bear seeing her tears, his voice was extremely gentle.

Tears stung the corners of her eyes, while sadness welled up within his heart.

She cried so fiercely because of Beitang Yao’s tenderness. She didn’t want him to witness her weakness, but he had caught her red-handed. Ye Feng and Beitang Huan had just left, and Beitang Yao had come in, clearly aware of her situation.

”Young Master Yao, I...” She choked, unable to utter a single word, all thoughts stuck in her throat.

”Don’t worry, I will do everything I can to heal your glass legs.” Beitang Yao raised his hand to brush away the scattered hair on her forehead, gently promising, then paused, his eyes deep with a touch of guilt in his voice, ”The harm Huan caused you, I will make sure you get back in full.”

Xia Qingqian shook her head and reached out to hold his hand resting on her face, pleading softly, ”Young Master Yao, please don’t! This isn’t Huan’s fault, don’t do anything to her, okay? Besides, you promised not to make things difficult for Huan.”

Xia Qingqian’s constant mention of Huan made him quite uncomfortable. He wanted her to call his name, but she hesitated, yet when calling Beitang Huan, she was so smooth?

”...” Beitang Yao silently gazed down at Xia Qingqian, seeing in her refined face qualities he found in no other woman.

What other women had, she too possessed, but what others lacked, she also possessed. It was the purity and innocence to bear any hardship alone, quietly hiding away to nurse her wounds.

”Young Master Yao, I want to return to my room.” Xia Qingqian, noticing Beitang Yao’s silence and his unwavering gaze, felt her face flush red.

”From now on, you’ll sleep in this room until it’s time to return to the castle.” He gazed slightly into the distance, knowing it would soon be time to take her back when she was a bit better.

Xia Qingqian looked at Beitang Yao in astonishment, not understanding his words, furrowing her brows as she asked, ”Young Master Yao, return to the castle? Do you mean... you’ll take me back?” Why would he consider taking her to the castle? She never thought of it that way. Wasn’t the castle home to all members of the Beitang Family? How would he introduce her?

She really was overthinking. To take a woman back to the castle, did he need a certain status? Everyone at the castle feared Beitang Yao, didn’t they?
