Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Chapter 939: Chapter 941: Going Out

”You said it’s evening already?” A wave of unease swept over her heart. Wasn’t it just getting light? How did it become evening so quickly?

”Yes, Miss Xia, you’ve slept the whole day, the Young Master was quite worried.” The servant moved around the bed, tidying up.

”What?! I’ve been sleeping the whole day? Why didn’t you wake me up?” She spent her last day in bed, she felt like cursing herself. She couldn’t handle drinking, so why did she try to drink like others! Being drunk ruins everything!

”When will the Young Master be back?” She thought of talking to Brother Zhenyu as soon as possible before the Young Master returns. She promised herself to protect the things he left behind!

Xia Qingqian went downstairs, just about to leave when she was stopped by Uncle Quan, who came out of the kitchen, ”Xiao Qian, where are you going? Dinner is ready.”

”Uncle Quan, you and Maria enjoy your meal, I have something to do and need to leave first.” Xia Qingqian said this and was about to step out, but as she reached the door, it opened.

She furrowed her brows and took two steps back. The Young Master and Ye Feng had just left, they wouldn’t be back so soon, would they?

Sure enough, the door slowly opened, and the first to enter was Beitang Yao, dressed in a sharp suit. His deep, dark eyes reflected a faint light resting upon Xia Qingqian.

Xia Qingqian, who seldom dressed up, wore light makeup today. Her delicate and beautiful features appeared even more ethereal and captivating, with long black hair cascading down her shoulders. Her black knit cardigan was both casual and comfortable, enhancing her fair skin like snow.

A collared shirt underneath made her look more elegant and refined, the subdued light color lending her a perfect ladylike charm, the bright yellow belt accentuating her slim figure, making it look more graceful and appealing.

Seeing her makeup, his face darkened, and he asked in a deep voice, ”Where are you planning to go?”

No need to ask Ah Gui, it was clear she was going to see Qiao Zhenyu. His heart felt clogged, growing increasingly stifled.

”I’m leaving now.” She said flatly, intending to leave through the door. However, as she passed by him, her soft hand was tightly grasped by him with considerable force.

”There’s an evening event tonight, you accompany me,” he said in a cold tone, the words slipping out unconsciously. He wasn’t sure if she would choose him or choose to guard Qiao Zhenyu at the cemetery tonight.

Of course, he hoped she would let go of Qiao Zhenyu and choose to go with him.

”You have no shortage of company, and... I’m not available tonight.” She tried to struggle free, but unexpectedly, the more she struggled, the tighter his grip became.

”The cemetery’s visiting hours are over, going there now would be futile.” Beitang Yao suppressed the anger within him. This fool, still thinking of visiting Qiao Zhenyu at night? How important could a deceased person be in her heart? She even dressed up for Qiao Zhenyu, yet never once for him.

Xia Qingqian paused, gazing slightly at Ye Feng, who nodded, and only then did she abandon the idea of going to the cemetery, feeling waves of disappointment in her heart.

Beitang Yao glanced at Ye Feng, signaling him to hand over the item to Xia Qingqian.

”Miss Xia, this is your dress for tonight.” Ye Feng handed a big gift box to Xia Qingqian.

Xia Qingqian looked dazedly at the gift box, her expression still faint, but following Beitang Yao’s lead, she took the box and returned to her room to put on the dress.

”Miss Xia, you’re truly beautiful!” The servant walked over, adjusting Xia Qingqian’s dress, and praised her.

”Thank you.” Xia Qingqian’s lips moved slightly, then she walked up to Beitang Yao, looking up at him, ”So, when do we leave?”
