Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Chapter 914: Chapter 916: Falling for Her

”Do you think that by sitting here reminiscing about things real or imagined, Qiao Zhenyu will come back?” Beitang Yao said dully, astonished that he was actually helping his plaything find a man?

It seems he really should go to the hospital to check if something went wrong...

Qiao Zhenyu! Qiao Zhenyu! Just what kind of man is he, that makes Xia Qingqian love him so deeply, shed tears for him, even willing to die...

Beitang Yao’s grip on the document tightened, a flicker of indistinct emotion flashed in his cold eyes. He had never put any thought into a woman before; if he ever did, it would be only for Xia Qingqian.

He always wanted to torment Xia Qingqian, yet when he saw her heartbroken for another man, he, he felt somewhat... somewhat unwilling to torment her, destroy her. He even wanted to preserve her, cherish her tenderly.

Such thoughts made him laugh at himself. What a ridiculous joke; when did Beitang Yao ever get moved by a woman?

Xia Qingqian turned her face suddenly, her eyes slightly red, her deep gaze like a pond of blue water that refused to ripple, making her look so pitifully charming.

When Beitang Yao met Xia Qingqian’s wistful eyes, it felt like something sharply pricked his heart, his brow flinched in pain. He feigned clearing his throat, reaching for a glass of water.

Gululu—

It was the bewitching sound of Beitang Yao drinking water, but Xia Qingqian was startled, her throat rolled as she swallowed hard, her voice quivering, ”Young Master, that glass of water...” In fact, she wanted to say, that glass of water, she had drunk from it. Indeed, she had drunk from it just now when Beitang Yao forcibly kissed her and snatched the glass from her hand, placing it on the nearest table.

Now parched, he wanted to drink; was he too focused on work, or absentminded? Did he pick the wrong glass? Plus, he never drank plain water—or even lemon water; he only drank black coffee.

Beitang Yao’s gaze shifted to the glass in his hand, his brow slightly furrowed as the water warmed in his mouth. The next moment, he actually swallowed it down in front of Xia Qingqian.

She mimicked Beitang Yao’s action, swallowing, her lips twitching slightly; she shivered with a cold tremor. Between the two of them, who was really at fault?

”Rather good...” Beitang Yao said casually, his eyes flashing with a color Xia Qingqian couldn’t discern before it vanished.

Xia Qingqian clutched her heart, shuddering, and lowered her head, mulling over the perplexing things, like what exactly was going on with the Young Master lately. Could it be for her? At this thought, she shook her head vigorously; no, the Young Master would never change for her.

Besides, she must not fall in love with the Young Master; the Young Master once said she must never harbor any love for him, not even a hint.

Hehe... Who is the Young Master? He’s the brightest star of City A, a global business legend, though the public never sees his handsome face.

She was just a plaything bought by the Young Master with money in times of danger; how could she dare have delusions about him? Moreover, her heart solely belonged to Brother Zhenyu. She reminded herself that she was allowed to love only Zhenyu in this lifetime.

When Beitang Yao spoke those words, he too wanted to bite his tongue off. He really was hopeless, swallowing something this woman had drunk. Still, didn’t saying such a thing reveal everything?
