One-Eyed Monster

Kuyi Tulan felt as though he was slowly entering the world of the Shadow Ghosts, surrounded by darkness.

The boundless abyss was the feedback of power, and the bottomless energy fluctuations made Kuyi Tulan feel exhilarated all over. This craving for power drove him to exert more force; he wanted to become the Shadow Ghost, to replace the Shadow Ghost!

Now the Shadow Ghost’s division was exposed, and as long as he continued to fan the flames, the division would broaden into conflict. He wanted this conflict to happen sooner.

”To be oneself or not to be oneself” is a choice made in a moment. You may find that you’re not so great, yet you can’t let go of that feeling, even in the face of an immensely powerful force, you can’t abandon that feeling at the door.” These profoundly meaningful words were Kuyi Tulan’s tools for fanning the flames.

The Spirit of the Shadow Ghost was quite angry at such words, but he knew he couldn’t sever himself from this main body, because he was an awakened Spirit. In the face of Equivalent Exchange, he couldn’t abandon the consciousness that awakened him. If he did, he would fall into slumber, and he feared slumber more than anything over the years. Once asleep, he didn’t know when he could awaken again, a result he couldn’t accept. He was to be the king who ruled the entire Spirit World, he couldn’t sleep.

In his plan, this world was an endless resource, and as long as the Devouring Power was controlled, the Spirits of the Spirit World could remain in a perpetual state of Awakening!

But now his Awakener was in a state of extreme loss of control, why this was happening, he couldn’t understand, but he couldn’t tolerate this lingering desire to be himself. That naive boy only had contributions in his mind, wanting to make the entire world free of disputes, free of any conflicts, to exist peacefully, but such a thing was something he was not willing to let happen. Because if things continued like this, the whole world would fall into a blandness, a tedious monotony, devoid of any meaning. This feeling was just like slumber, no difference at all.

The Spirit didn’t want such a thing to happen; he still wanted to continue conquering, continue possessing.

He agreed to let that guy come to this graveyard to see his former self; he knew that doing so wouldn’t have any impact because a pile of skeletons couldn’t change what happened. Moreover, this skeleton might even change this guy’s thinking and make him speed up his pace.

The skeleton naturally had more advantages than disadvantages, but he couldn’t figure out why things turned out this way.

Originally, their plundering of the skeletons went just as expected, with strong resistance encountered, but nothing that posed any real threat. Everything was under control, everything was within their grasp. Time was the least valuable thing, as long as they could unite their front, nothing was beyond their reach.

Yet now, why did divisions appear, why was his Awakener resisting like this!

This kind of resistance was apparent during a backlash before, but why is this sense of oppression appearing again now.

Engaging in a showdown with the Awakener was not an easy task; if not handled well, it would dissipate the Awakener’s consciousness, and he would fall into slumber as well.

He knew the consequences, yet he couldn’t swallow his pride, he couldn’t endure how the Awakener was ordering him around!

This was the most unstable part of himself after gaining emotions.

This instability was caught by Kuyi Tulan and utilized by Kuyi Tulan.

Now the Awakener had the upper hand, and he couldn’t change this.

Equivalent Exchange, such a law bound him, preventing him from rebelling.

If only he could have completely overwhelmed that guy using Devouring Power back then, maybe it wouldn’t be so troublesome now. To blame can only be himself, for being too hasty back then, devouring weak and frail Low Rank Awakeners.

At that time, even High Rank ones couldn’t make a move!

If now there was a Devouring Power that could directly devour the corresponding Awakener, then he would have a chance to turn the tables!

But such an assumption doesn’t exist, because his Awakener can be said to be the best at utilizing Devouring Power among the Soul Devourers. No one in this world could take his place...

The turning of events towards a bad direction seemed to be entirely because of this person named Kuyi Tulan. It was his existence that made his corresponding Awakener continuously recount the past, and these past stories were like waves of poisonous weeds, unknowingly spreading poison on them.

Unfortunately, even knowing it was a trap, he didn’t prevent it, which was indeed too careless.

Why did this cemetery elicit the memories of his corresponding Awakener, resulting in such an unexpected outcome!

Why could these long-buried memories make this guy become so determined, what was the reason, he could never figure it out.

When one reaches the pinnacle of a state, they no longer want what is right in front of them.

”Hmph, I know, you must be very confused, very confused.” The boy within the Shadow Ghost laughed aloud.

”I thank you for letting me come here, coming here has no benefits for you, of course, if not for this change, I don’t think I would have become like this now.”

Kuyi Tulan was quite astonished; he heard a different undertone from the Shadow Ghost’s words.

It seemed, the entire actions of Kuyi Tulan were all known by this Shadow Ghost.

”I’m not a fool, and neither are you, it’s just that you can’t control your emotions, and I can’t step out of my own mindset.” The Shadow Ghost continued, now the Spirit was completely suppressed, leaving only this youthful face to keep speaking.

”This guy named Kuyi Tulan has always been luring, he’s very smart, but also very arrogant, thinking a nobody like him can compete with you and me, how naive!”

This left Kuyi Tulan very puzzled, that all his plans were completely seen through by someone.

”This Kuyi Tulan even found our point of division, and you, this emotional one, actually fell for it, it’s really a pity!”

”Originally, I wanted to teach this guy a lesson, but now I realize, I can’t defeat him anymore.”

”The same backlash, yet he can maintain his own form, while I even abandoned myself, this, I can’t transcend.”

”So, you know, the next contest is between you and him!”

This statement startled both Kuyi Tulan and the Spirit, what on earth did this guy mean, what exactly did he want to do!

”I want to be freed, I want to return to my original self, don’t worry, the part that awakened you will remain in this guy’s consciousness; he’s a master of backlash, he knows what to do.”

”As for you, seize all of this well, and don’t let this Kuyi Tulan backlash you.”

”I’m going now, thank you for accompanying me for so long, although I didn’t fulfill my wish, in the end, I realized, I’m still that ignorant youth, blindly walking in a wasteland…”
