One-Eyed Monster

There are only four cemeteries in Xinbal. These cemeteries are all in the suburbs of Xinbal. Among these four cemeteries, two are public cemeteries, one is a private cemetery, and another is the Royal Cemetery.

The public cemeteries are well-known places, located on the east and west sides behind Circle Mountain in Xinbal, burying various people of Xinbal on their journey to the Eternal Tranquility Realm.

The private cemetery belongs to some ancient families, and only a few know of it, as these families have their own secrets they wish not many to know, while some hope that once they’ve gone to the Eternal Tranquility Realm, they’ll not be disturbed again. This cemetery is located on the east side of Xinbal, by the South Star River, where these families wish the river could carry away the sorrows of the deceased, cleansing their spirits...

The Royal Cemetery is a secretive place, its location known to only a few, as it buries members of the Kayne Royal Family. Naturally, the cemetery of the Kayne Family must be kept confidential; no one wishes for the hardworking royals to be disturbed even in death.

The Kangen Family is the only family that knows the locations of these four cemeteries, as they possess the Soul Guardians. The Soul Guardians not only guard these secrets but also protect the Royal Cemetery, and the cemeteries of those ancient families.

They must protect these Undead Souls from being disturbed, safeguarding their only peace after death.

The Royal Cemetery of the Kayne Royal Family is known only to the Soul Guardians of the Kangen Family. This secret hasn’t reached the Thunder and Electricity level in the Kangen Family’s secret hierarchy, so the elders responsible for the Soul Guardians still know of this secret.

The Kayne Royal Family’s cemetery is located on the west side of Xinbal, at the foot of Bess Mountain, linked to the Bess Mountains, hidden and steep. To the southwest lies Bistal, the place of origin of the Kayne Empire, the ancient Imperial Capital. This cemetery gazes toward the southwest, resonating with the ancestors.

The entire cemetery remains in a state of harmony, tranquil and misty, resembling the Eternal Tranquility Realm, free of any noise and conflict.

The Kangen Family carefully analyzed these cemeteries and believed that the Royal Cemetery was the most likely to be targeted by enemies.

Igor also felt this inference was plausible, he tried to deduce it himself, and the result also pointed towards this Royal Cemetery.

The reason is simple, among the enemies is a traitor of the Soul Guardians, which is undisputable. Although Death is no longer existing in their impressions, and Willem has died, the enemies hold Willem’s memories, making them well aware of the matters concerning the Royal Cemetery.

Additionally, only the Royal Cemetery would prompt them to act, for buried there are members of the Kayne Royal Family, whose secrets or memories are worth these Soul Devourers fighting over.

Of course, this is merely speculation and deduction, it remains to be seen if it is indeed the case.

After obtaining the consent of Princess Juliette, the Kangen Family began to investigate the entire Royal Cemetery...

Of course, they also did not forget about the other cemeteries, it was just an issue of how many people were allocated.

This process made Igor deeply sense the profound heritage of the ancient family; even though they had nominally left the whole family, these people still carried the family’s distinctive style in their actions.

They still acted with great vigour, as different teams followed instructions to explore each cemetery. These people were the top intelligence gatherers of the family; they knew what was most important in Xinbal. To them, time was everything, and they quickly carried out their tasks.

With the help of Princess Juliette’s plants, Igor and his team quickly received responses.

The first piece of information came back from the east side of Xinbal by the South Star River. The intelligence gatherers there reported it was very quiet, with no movement at all, except for the rushing sound of the river.

This information was within expectations, as Will Kangen and others had determined the anomaly should occur at the Royal Cemetery, so they continued to wait patiently.

Before long, another piece of information, accompanied by the rustling sound of plants, came back, this one from the direction of the Royal Cemetery.

This was the information they had been waiting for, and they felt that they were about to take action!

However, at that moment of receiving the information, they were dumbfounded. Neither Igor nor Will Kangen could believe the content of the message, thinking the intelligence personnel must not have observed carefully...

Because the message stated that there was no anomaly at all!

This was impossible, after several deductions, the conclusion was that the anomaly would occur at that Royal Cemetery! Igor could not believe it.

But the intelligence gatherers sent to the foot of Bess Mountain were elite family members; such significant errors should not occur. Thus, Will Kangen frowned deeply, feeling that many things did not align with their predictions!

What were these situations! Igor’s head was aching; he felt like going there personally to see what had happened.

”Two cemeteries have not yet reported back!” Will Kangen said, his heart in turmoil, his mood not particularly good. Because the remaining two cemeteries were the most ordinary ones, public cemeteries known to everyone.

Only two intelligence gatherers were sent to these cemeteries, which now seemed a little too few in number.

If conflict truly happened there, then the whole situation would be quite thorny...

However, if an anomaly did occur there, it would be impossible for all of Xinbal not to have noticed. These public cemeteries have people visiting almost every day; how could there be no movement?

Could it be that the enemy has a way to obscure information completely? Or has everyone who arrived there lost the ability to speak?

Regardless of the potentiality, the outcomes all seem unfavorable.

”To Circle Mountain!” Will Kangen said decisively, without hesitation in his tone.

”Aren’t we going to wait a bit longer? Perhaps information will come from the other two places soon!” someone below asked in surprise.

”No need to wait, inform everyone to go to Circle Mountain. There are two public cemeteries, one east, one west, we’ll split into two teams; launch fireworks if anything happens!”

”Yes!” In no time, the whole Kangen Family split into two groups, promptly executing Will Kangen’s orders.

Destination, the public cemeteries of Circle Mountain.

They didn’t know if Will Kangen’s gamble was correct, but given the situation, things really might happen at the public cemeteries, since the more public something is, the more complex it becomes, sometimes secrets aren’t as complicated.
