Our Family Has Fallen

This guy can’t bear it, when he suffers a loss, he has to turn the tables.

If I say to return to Ovando City, and he can’t vent his anger, wouldn’t the torture fall on me, the person in charge?

So I must find a way to let him release his anger, better for others to suffer than for me to be punished.

Obviously, Hamlet is the place he chose to vent.

”It should be their responsibility to eliminate these bandit robbers. Now that we have suffered losses due to their incompetence, it’s natural that we demand an explanation.”

Gene added, ”More importantly, the Barbarians can run, but Hamlet cannot.”

Upon hearing this, Michelle’s eyes, surrounded by dark circles, couldn’t help but open, revealing a gleam of excitement.

”Good! We’ll set off for Hamlet early tomorrow morning.”

Once Michelle made a decision, the others couldn’t and didn’t dare oppose it; touching a sore spot now was a death wish.

However, the others couldn’t help but focus their attention on Gene. This person is not simple...

Gene didn’t care about the attention from others. The reason he proposed to go to Hamlet, apart from allowing Michelle to vent, was because he couldn’t just go back like that.

He said there were no losses, but it’s impossible for a hundred people to plunder without taking anything. He had to claim that to pacify Michelle, but in reality, quite a lot was stolen. If he can’t make up for the losses, he would suffer too.

Moreover, so many people died, including a noble. He needs some leverage to handle this matter when he goes back.

In other words, he wanted to return even less than Michelle. He needed to find a way to balance the accounts, so plundering was an excellent method.

Michelle could kill to vent, and he could plunder brutally.

As for the survival of Hamlet or the casualties of the Personal Guard, they were not within his consideration range.

Meanwhile, as Michelle made the decision, the fleeing Barbarian Mercenaries regrouped.

In fact, both sides had armor, so there weren’t many direct deaths, more were injured. Moreover, those Personal Guards retreated after being ambushed once they came out. So the Barbarian team only lost a dozen or so people, but there were still some injured.

However, they did manage to loot some supplies, temporarily resolving their food shortage issue.

Everyone exchanged information on the front and rear battlefield situations, and the Barbarian front line understood the reason for retreat when they heard the dead were resurrected by the Imperial People’s sorcery.

Similarly, those in the rear were shocked by the ferocity of the Personal Guards, realizing that this territory’s noble soldiers were even more formidable than Bastia’s infantry.

”They will definitely leave at daybreak, what shall we do now?”

”Hunt them.” The Barbarian carrying a large bow spoke as the others remained somewhat silent.

”Don’t let their people break through for reinforcements. Then, the Gunners and Archers continuously harass them. If they can endure it, they will endure slow attrition. If they can’t, lead them into the forest.

But to accomplish these, we must unite. The tribal management won’t gain everyone’s consent, so let’s follow the rules of the Mercenary Corps.”

The smart ones understood that he wanted to seize this opportunity to consolidate everyone, but they remained silent.

Seeing this, the Archer added, ”Don’t just focus your gaze here, such elite forces won’t be too many. As long as we take them down, wouldn’t this place become our hunting ground? Can’t we achieve what the Fang Tribe did?”

”Alright, I support this.”

”I agree too.”

”...”

The Barbarian Mercenaries got unified, and the previous war is bound to continue…
