Our Family Has Fallen

Lance watched her, poured another glass, but instead of giving it directly to her, he mixed it into the fruit wine in the oak cup from earlier, ”Now try this.”

Boudica picked up the cup and took a big gulp.

”It tastes strange, but definitely better.”

Lance had his judgment, using Boudica as a test subject, but she mustn’t be taken as the target audience; she’s a negative example, which actually indicates that the sweetness of that [Maiden’s Dream] should be fine.

”More!”

Clearly, Boudica was already a bit tipsy; her alcohol tolerance wasn’t great, and the raw brew she greedily gulped was several times stronger than regular beer, now the intoxication was starting to hit.

And she lacked good drinking habits; otherwise, why would Lance ignore old drinkers like Balistan and focus on her?

It’s a bad habit fostered in the tribe, drinking and liking to brag and fight, hitting whoever she didn’t like with a couple of punches; few could withstand it, and she’d have to clean up the mess if anyone got hurt.

But today, Lance didn’t seem concerned, letting her drink to her heart’s content.

After all, she wouldn’t possibly hit him, and even if she did, wouldn’t win.

Lance thought even if she got carried away, she wouldn’t lose her mind enough to hit him, but didn’t expect Boudica to be so unreasonable, getting tipsy and floating up.

But when she saw Lance not drinking too and pondering, she frowned involuntarily.

Obviously, Boudica felt quite dissatisfied; was the point of drinking? The point was bragging and showing off, then beating up anyone who questioned it to earn everyone’s admiration.

But what could she brag to Lance about here? Plus, Lance kept zoning out, which made her anxious heart flare up even more.

Only challenging him could prove herself!

Normally, she wouldn’t dare to make a move, but under the influence of alcohol, Boudica finally unleashed her suppressed nature.

She immediately cast aside all rationality and lunged at Lance.

”Give me the wine!”

This shout jolted Lance out of his thoughts, and then he saw Boudica reach towards him.

But she wasn’t grabbing the wine; she was grabbing Lance.

”What are you doing?” Lance leaned back, dodging the hand; his reflexes were too quick to be caught by a drunkard.

”What are you dodging for!” But this move seemed to anger Boudica, who immediately grabbed the table, attempting to flip it, ”If you can’t play... then don’t play!”

Before Boudica could flip the table, Lance pressed down with a hand, making the table leg, which had just left the ground, instantly fall back on it. The bottles on the tabletop shook, but Lance calmly placed them back into the crate.

Boudica’s face was flushed and veins bulged, yet even with her hands on the table edge, she couldn’t shake his single hand.

Since completing the mission, Extraordinary Equipment was to be retrieved and placed. Even if she had two pieces of equipment, she couldn’t necessarily confront Lance, let alone now.

But don’t expect a drunk to have logic.

Flipping tables was a common opening move in tavern brawls, but more directly damaging was grabbing bottles and cups nearby to smash heads.

Only saw her raise her hand and grab the heavy oak cup, swinging it towards Lance’s head, even tipsy she didn’t forget the combat skills.

But to Lance, it was like a gentle breeze through willows; he raised a hand, caught it out of thin air without a single shake.

Instead, Boudica’s forceful move directly snapped the cup handle, her body, due to drunkenness, lacking previous balance and swaying back as she fell; luckily, she reacted in time, getting up and staggered to steadiness.

But looking at Lance, her gaze lacked that clarity, instead seeming to return to the wild and frantic aura from their first meeting, like a raging beast.

”What~ still want to come?” Lance watched her yet slowly placed the cup back on the table.

Lance wasn’t much of a drinker, also curious why drinking made Boudica go berserk.

Not knowing the cause, but blaming it all on the old ancestor would suffice, it must be his mischief.

Isn’t it just loving to fight? Lance chose this place already having anticipated it.

Lance stood up, without any extra motions, casually walking towards Boudica.

This behavior was undoubtedly provocative, Boudica tossed the cup handle away and charged fists bare.

Only to say she must have fought many drunken brawls; her steps swayed, yet she didn’t fall, accuracy was off but strength was greater.

Lance raised a hand, blocking her attack; his attitude of seeming mockery further enraged Boudica.

”waaagh!”

A roar that triggered the power of the war pattern, the lioness phantom emerged, issuing an extraordinary menace towards Lance, simultaneously bursting speed trying to grapple Lance.

Yet the phantom was instantly dispersed by Lance’s glare, but Boudica had already charged up, clutching his waist, exerting full force trying to tip him over.

Except she seemed to be holding an iron pillar, unable to push, pull, or break it.

And Lance had no intention of stopping her.

Yet Boudica was clearly not willing to let go just like that, changing tactics trying to move him, but despite her face flushing, veins bulging, she was helpless.

Bragging really stemmed from wanting others’ admiration and recognition; such people especially cared about face; once tipsy, unless beaten into submission, don’t expect them to be honest.
