Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Chapter 493: Chapter 493: Meeting Lunatics at the Asylum; Dangerous Building 3 Patients

Actually, Qin Xin was in a hurry to return to school, not entirely to avoid the man.

She really had something to do.

The next day, as soon as she returned to school, she applied a disguise makeup, had Xiangxiang bring some baked animal cookies, and took a taxi to the Imperial City Mental Hospital.

The mental hospital had been closed for several days during the Spring Festival, and today was the first day it reopened. It was rather lively, with a lot of visitors.

However, upon closer inspection, most visitors were volunteers from city organizations completing their tasks in bulk, and there were few family members of patients.

People who have gone mad have done various strange and troubling things, leaving their families eager to avoid them, so why would they eagerly come to visit?

At this moment, Qin Xin’s identity was also as a member of a volunteer organization.

This was thanks to Lan Qingxin.

Because she was good at cultivating plants, she was recruited by the Pharmacy College’s volunteer team to help grow various herbs beneficial for mental and physical health, which were routinely sent to orphanages, mental hospitals, and pet hospitals.

Qin Xin and Xiangxiang, one carrying a basket of cookies, the other holding a large box of flower seedlings, squeezed into the visiting crowd.

”Girl, why didn’t your school send any boys to help?” the administrator of the mental hospital, who was familiar with Lan Qingxin, greeted them.

Qin Xin replied calmly, ”They’re too clumsy. Today’s double-flowered peppermint is very effective in calming patients, so I have to plant it myself.”

Then she handed half of the cookie basket to the administrator: ”My classmate baked these, have a taste.”

The administrator liked these tactful young girls the most: ”You go ahead with your work, I’ll give you an extra two days recorded as volunteer work in your logbook, so you don’t tire yourself out. Just plant the mint in buildings 1 and 2, and don’t go to building 3, it’s full of severely neurotic patients with strong aggressive tendencies. I don’t want you to get hurt.”

Qin Xin nodded and, leading Xiangxiang, headed toward the patient ward.

Trained volunteers know how to interact with general psychiatric patients, and those with milder conditions are just confused in speech, vacant in their gaze, and not very intelligent; they have no aggressive tendencies.

Qin Xin had Xiangxiang plant mint around building 1.

While she carried the basket and the remaining half-box of mint seedlings and walked inside.

Xiangxiang was a bit worried, ”Little Miss, let me come with you.”

Qin Xin: ”No need, I’m familiar with this place.”

Xiangxiang: ”The administrator just said not to go to building 3, Little Miss, please really don’t go.”

Qin Xin: ”Okay. Wait for me here.”

Xiangxiang obediently stayed in place, and after planting a few seedlings, looked up to find Qin Xin was already out of sight.

”Little Miss...”

She wanted to call out a few times, but a psychiatric patient sunning himself approached, earnestly saying, ”Are you calling me? Little servant girl, I am your lady... I’m hungry, go cook for me!”

Ahhh, what is it like to be pestered by a psychiatric patient to cook? And he even shoved a pot of soil at her, demanding pumpkin soup!

Qin Xin continued on her way inside, heading straight for building 3.

She had done her research; Wolff’s brother, Wu Zhiming, was detained in a small separate courtyard on the first floor of building 3.

She stood at the courtyard gate and knocked on the door.

There was no response inside.

She glanced up at the surveillance camera. She had hacked the lines when she entered the gate; the camera couldn’t see her.

With a gentle twist of her fair hand, the lock opened with a click.

The courtyard was silent, a bit gloomy, and even carried an unpleasant smell.

Qin Xin stepped forward.

Suddenly.

A wooden stick swung towards her from behind: ”Hey! Want to steal Old Sun’s robot? Taste Old Sun’s stick first!”
