The storm had arrived with almost no warning.

As a result...

The entire Wingull was thrown into frantic activity.

Standing by the window...

Chen Mo watched the torrential rain and the dark, surging sea beyond.

Nearby...

He could hear someone trying to keep their voice down.

Even so...

The fury in the repeated reprimands still broke through from time to time.

After a moment of thought...

Chen Mo turned around and slowly walked toward the cruise manager and Hao Tianyu.

The middle-aged manager immediately fell silent.

After shooting Hao Tianyu one last fierce glare...

He quickly replaced it with an apologetic expression and bowed deeply to Chen Mo.

”Teacher Mo...”

”About that Wishiwashi, I...”

”It’s alright.”

Chen Mo waved a hand, interrupting his apology.

”I never intended to keep Wishiwashi from leaving.”

”If it wanted to go...”

”Then let it go.”

”You’ve already apologized for this once.”

”And I’m not someone who holds grudges.”

”So don’t worry about it.”

”Compared to Wishiwashi...”

”I’m actually more concerned about this storm.”

”I overheard some crew members talking earlier.”

”They said this storm appeared completely out of nowhere, didn’t they?”

Hearing the question...

The manager’s expression immediately became serious.

Since the Wingull had been assigned to serve someone as important as Chen Mo...

Everything about the ship—

Its equipment...

Its crew...

Its personnel...

Represented the highest standard in the industry.

Almost every hour...

The ship used satellites, radar, and various other technologies to generate detailed forecasts of the route ahead.

Wind speed.

Wind direction.

Weather.

Wave height.

Thunderstorm probability.

Every prediction was backed by extensive data.

While they weren’t perfect...

The error rate was already extremely small.

Yet...

Despite all that...

This storm had appeared completely without warning.

Not only was it enormous...

It had formed almost instantly.

After listening to the manager’s explanation...

Chen Mo fell into thought.

”Teacher Mo...”

”Could this storm have something to do with Pokémon?”

The manager was quite perceptive.

When something extraordinary happened...

There was usually a reason behind it.

As an experienced sailor who had kept up with the times...

He understood that ever since Pokémon appeared...

The sea occasionally produced phenomena modern science couldn’t explain.

After all...

Quite a few Pokémon species could manipulate the weather.

”I’d say that’s almost certainly the case.”

Chen Mo nodded.

The manager immediately became nervous.

”T-Then...”

”What should we do?”

”There’s no need to panic.”

”I assume your crew already has emergency procedures for storms like this?”

”Just follow those.”

No sooner had the words left his mouth...

Than an unusual cry drifted through the rain.

”Woooooo~~~”

”It’s Lapras!!”

One of the sailors shouted from the deck.

Chen Mo wasted no time.

He immediately recalled Absol...

Gible...

And Magikarp into their Poké Balls.

Then...

With the remaining four Pokémon...

He hurried toward the deck.

The manager stared blankly after him.

A moment later...

He finally snapped back to his senses and rushed after him.

Braving the violent wind and rain...

His already thinning hair whipped wildly in every direction.

He shouted toward the young man’s retreating figure.

”Teacher Mo!”

Chen Mo paused.

Turning back...

He smiled.

”Don’t worry about me.”

”I’ll be back.”

”You just follow the emergency procedures.”

”When everything’s over...”

”I’ll come find you.”

”Trust me.”

Leaving those words behind...

Chen Mo planted one hand on the ship’s railing.

Then...

To everyone’s astonishment...

He vaulted overboard.

Fortunately...

Pidgeotto had already been waiting.

The instant Chen Mo jumped...

It swooped underneath him...

Caught him effortlessly...

And flew toward the Lapras herd.

Just then...

Hao Tianyu emerged from inside the ship.

Seeing the scene...

He anxiously turned toward his uncle.

”Teacher Mo...”

”Just focus on doing our own job.”

The manager replied quickly.

”Teacher Mo is a Trainer acknowledged by the Prince of the Sea.”

”Out on the ocean...”

”He’ll be fine.”

”What we need to do...”

”Is trust him.”

”And before he returns...”

”Get this ship out of the storm.”

Meanwhile...

With Pidgeotto’s help...

Chen Mo had already landed on the back of a Lapras.

”I’ll be relying on all of you.”

”Lapra~”

As the one who had sounded the Lapras Calling Whistle...

Chen Mo was treated with great affection by the entire herd.

Surrounding the Lapras carrying him...

They sped toward the heart of the storm.

In truth...

After confirming through Wishiwashi that something really had gone wrong in these waters...

Chen Mo had returned to his cabin earlier that evening.

Then...

He had immediately asked Jirachi to use its wish-granting power to uncover exactly what was happening.

After all...

Although Jirachi’s wishes had limited influence over Legendary Pokémon...

Finding out information about matters below that level...

Was incredibly easy.

The result?

The source of the disturbance...

Was a fierce territorial war between two extremely powerful Pokémon tribes.

Every three days...

A minor battle.

Every five days...

A major one.

Under those circumstances...

Forget ordinary Pokémon.

Even normal schools of fish couldn’t survive peacefully.

They had all fled.

Without question...

The prolonged conflict between the two tribes had severely damaged the area’s ecological balance.

Chen Mo had originally intended to wait until dawn before dealing with it.

Who would have expected...

That shortly after he lay down to rest...

The two tribes would erupt into another massive battle.

Looking at the enormous storm before him...

Chen Mo couldn’t help thinking that Wishiwashi had made the right decision by running away.

Neither tribe was at the level of Legendary Pokémon.

But...

Both were undeniably powerful.

Any weaker Pokémon caught in their battle...

Could easily lose their lives.

”...Looks like I have to settle this first.”

Chen Mo murmured.

Given the Bureau’s current strength...

They simply lacked the means to manage conflicts deep within the sea.

Combined with the fact that both tribes were exceptionally strong...

Among all existing Trainers...

Chen Mo was probably the only one capable of intervening.

Soon...

As the Lapras herd ventured deeper into the storm...

Chen Mo glanced behind him.

The Wingull had already vanished among the towering waves.

”Lapras.”

”Let’s stop here.”

He gently patted the Lapras beneath him.

”Lapra~”

The obedient Pokémon immediately came to a halt.

Despite the raging storm...

The Lapras herd floated upon the sea like immovable rocks.

Chen Mo looked upward.

There...

Jirachi hovered amidst the pouring rain.

Curiously looking around.

”Jirachi.”

”Jirachi?”

The little Wish Pokémon immediately turned toward him.

The next second...

It covered its mouth with both hands...

And burst into giggles.

Chen Mo’s hair had been completely soaked.

It clung to his forehead.

Although he still looked handsome...

The drenched appearance was admittedly rather amusing.

Chen Mo laughed helplessly.

”This storm really is annoying...”

Then...

Recalling the cruise ship being tossed about by the waves...

He thought for a moment before asking,

”Jirachi.”

”Using your wish-granting power...”

”Can you stop this storm?”

Now that they had left the Wingull...

Far out on the open sea...

There was no livestream.

No spectators.

No need to worry about hiding Jirachi’s abilities.

Since he possessed such an extraordinary treasure...

It only made sense to make proper use of it.

After all...

If anything happened to the Wingull...

Then even if Chen Mo managed to stop the conflict between the two Pokémon tribes...

The aftermath would become unimaginably troublesome.

Reducing risks...

Had always been one of Chen Mo’s guiding principles.

”Jirachi~”

(I’ll try~)

Jirachi clasped its tiny white hands together in prayer.

At the same time...

The three wish tags hanging from its head...

Which hadn’t moved even in the violent wind...

Suddenly began fluttering wildly.

The next instant...

Tiny white lights began glowing across Jirachi’s body.

”...That’s...”

Chen Mo immediately recognized them.

Back on Mount Cangqing...

When the wild Pokémon had gathered to oppose Suicune...

The Pokémon responsible for competing with Suicune’s weather control...

Had emitted almost exactly the same light.

Sunny Day.

Chen Mo instantly understood what Jirachi intended to do.

Wrapped in brilliant white radiance...

Jirachi slowly floated higher into the sky.

Rain poured endlessly from above.

Chen Mo looked upward.

Watching the little Pokémon suspended in midair...

Hands clasped together...

It resembled a holy angel.

Thunder rumbled.

Lightning split the heavens...

Then vanished.

For an instant...

The entire world seemed swallowed by darkness.

At that exact moment...

A pale golden light erupted from Jirachi.

Its terrifying energy instantly vaporized the surrounding rain.

Then...

It condensed into a dazzling pillar of light...

Shooting straight toward the storm clouds overhead.

The thunderclouds...

Filled with countless flashes of lightning...

Attempted to resist.

But...

Jirachi was still a Legendary Pokémon.

More importantly...

While using Sunny Day...

It had also infused the move with part of its power as the Wish Maker.

The storm...

Created through the combined efforts of countless Pokémon exploiting the ocean itself...

Held out only briefly.

Then...

It was utterly crushed.

The clouds shattered like rotten wood.

Silence suddenly descended upon the world.

The next instant...

The brilliant pillar exploded like fireworks.

Countless specks of white light drifted gently across the sky.

Under that overwhelming power...

The thunderclouds completely dispersed.

Moonlight once again bathed the ocean.

Carried by the gentle breeze...

Jirachi slowly floated back down.

Chen Mo reached out.

Catching the little angel in his arms.

”Chen Mo...”

”I did it...”

Although exhaustion covered its face...

The moment Jirachi saw Chen Mo...

It couldn’t help smiling brightly.

It was happy.

Every wish it had granted since yesterday...

Had helped Chen Mo.

Deep inside...

Jirachi secretly celebrated.

”Jirachi can help Chen Mo!”

”Thank you.”

Chen Mo gently stroked Jirachi’s head.

Then...

He exchanged a few Comet Shards through the system.

Handing both the Comet Shards and the exhausted Jirachi over to Gengar...

He asked it to take care of the little Pokémon.

Meanwhile...

Aboard the Wingull...

Just moments earlier...

The crew had been desperately battling the storm.

Now...

As they watched that dazzling pillar of light pierce the heavens...

Every sailor stood frozen in shock.

Even the normally composed cruise manager couldn’t help leaving his mouth hanging open.

Gradually...

The wind calmed.

The waves settled.

After several moments of stunned silence...

One sailor finally cried out excitedly.

”That had to be Teacher Mo!”

”That light...”

”It had to be Teacher Mo!”

The entire crew immediately erupted into discussion.

Not a single person doubted it.

The manager sighed with heartfelt admiration.

”So...”

”This is the Hero of Ideals...”

”The Trainer who counts countless Legendary Pokémon among his friends...”

”The world’s strongest Pokémon Trainer.”

Standing beside him...

Hao Tianyu looked up at the moon shining through the now-cleared sky.

Then...

He looked down at the rain-soaked deck beneath his feet.

Everything felt like a dream.

Yet...

It had all truly happened.

Suddenly...

He regretted something.

He hadn’t recorded that incredible moment.

At that instant...

The manager seemed to read his thoughts.

Patting him on the shoulder...

He smiled.

”Now that Teacher Mo has ended the storm...”

”There’s a good chance he’s already solved most of the problem.”

”So...”

”Grab your equipment.”

”If we hurry over now...”

”We might still catch him finishing the job.”

Hearing that...

Hao Tianyu nodded without hesitation.

He quickly ran back inside...

To retrieve the camera.

Far away...

On the opposite side of the sea...

Centered around a vast field of pink coral...

Two Pokémon tribes simultaneously raised their heads toward the sky.

One resembled giant blue jellyfish.

The other looked like seahorses.

For a long while...

They silently stared at the clouds dispersing overhead.

Eventually...

Both tribes came back to their senses.

They turned toward one another.

The fear inspired by that overwhelming Legendary power...

Was instantly overwhelmed...

By their mutual hatred.

”GROOOAAAH!!”

A towering column of water erupted.

In the blink of an eye...

It slammed directly into one of the seahorse Pokémon.

Instantly...

The battle resumed.

The entire sea descended into chaos once more.

Neither tribe noticed...

High above them...

A gigantic bird Pokémon was silently circling.

Its enormous wings beat through the night sky as it observed everything below.

After watching for only a brief moment...

It turned...

And swiftly disappeared into the darkness.
