”Another Legendary Pokémon’s blessing!?”

The moment Chen Mo said those words, everyone in the hospital room revealed expressions of utter shock.

The government’s plan to provide suitable trainers with starter Pokémon was still being prepared in secret.

Most of the rookie trainers participating in the Pikachu Cup had obtained their Pokémon through their own efforts in the wild.

Everyone knew exactly how difficult that was.

To put it simply—

Among the nearly twenty thousand rookie trainers who entered the Pikachu Cup, the vast majority owned common Pokémon such as Caterpie.

And there was a reason for that.

Just encountering a rare Pokémon in the wild was enough to make many people ecstatic.

As for Legendary Pokémon?

Most people had only ever seen them through Chen Mo’s livestreams.

In reality, they had never even had a chance to encounter one.

After all, the word legendary did not merely describe a Pokémon’s strength.

More importantly, it referred to its rarity.

Rare enough that people could only hear about it in legends.

So—

Learning that Ah Hui had met Entei, one of the Three Legendary Beasts, earned its recognition, and received its blessing was already enough to leave everyone astonished and envious.

But now—

Chen Mo was saying that Ah Hui had also received the blessing of another Legendary Pokémon.

Even Chen Haoran, one of Ah Hui’s closest friends, couldn’t help feeling a trace of jealousy.

”The difference between people is really this huge?”

Chen Mo was one thing.

Ever since he had single-handedly resolved the crystallization incident on Mount Zangqing, many people had already begun viewing him as a heroic figure of this era.

Given his abilities and knowledge, having connections with Legendary Pokémon felt natural.

But Ah Hui was different.

To everyone else, Ah Hui was simply someone from the same generation as themselves.

Sure, he was talented.

But receiving blessings from two Legendary Pokémon?

That felt a little excessive.

”Amazing! That’s incredible!”

”Brother Hui, how did you do it?”

”I want to meet a Legendary Pokémon too—even just once!”

Gao Tianming leaned over the bedside, his eyes sparkling with undisguised envy.

”I...”

Under everyone’s intense gaze, Ah Hui looked completely lost.

”I don’t know either.”

”Besides Entei, I never—”

Suddenly, he paused.

Actually...

If he thought carefully about it, he had met another legendary-level Pokémon.

The mysterious Ultra Beast Chen Mo had called—

Blacephalon.

A dangerous visitor from another world.

But...

That couldn’t be right.

If Entei hadn’t shown up back then, Blacephalon would’ve drained away his life force.

A Pokémon like that giving him a blessing?

A curse sounded more likely.

”Brother Mo, what’s going on?”

Unable to think of an answer, Ah Hui felt increasingly uncomfortable beneath everyone’s piercing stares.

Yet Chen Mo remained completely calm.

He first placed a basket of fruit he’d purchased on the way to the hospital beside Ah Hui’s bed.

Among the fruit sat a brightly colored flower wreath.

Only then did he ask slowly,

”Ah Hui, during your match against Zhao Xue’er, did anything strange happen?”

”Something strange...”

Without hesitation, Ah Hui recounted the odd sensations he had experienced during the battle.

Chen Mo listened quietly, occasionally nodding.

But the trainers gathered around, led by Chen Haoran, could no longer remain calm.

”According to what Teacher Mo mentioned in his livestream before, the highest realm of a trainer’s command ability is becoming completely connected with your Pokémon.”

”No words.”

”Just thoughts.”

”And the Pokémon instantly understands.”

”Ah Hui, have you already reached that level!?”

”That doesn’t make any sense!”

”Even Teacher Mo himself admitted he can’t do that!”

The Top 16 contestants weren’t idiots.

Very quickly, they realized this was probably related to the blessing from the second Legendary Pokémon.

But what kind of Legendary Pokémon possessed such miraculous abilities?

Everyone became unbearably curious.

They immediately turned toward Chen Mo, waiting for an explanation.

”What else?”

Chen Mo remained calm.

”You saw and heard more than that, didn’t you?”

”...”

Ah Hui frowned deeply.

After a long pause, he closed his eyes as though reliving the battle.

Then he murmured,

”Light...”

”I saw colorful lights falling from the sky.”

”They gathered together and illuminated the path of Frosmoth’s attacks.”

”And?”

Chen Mo prompted.

”There’s more?”

Ah Hui’s brow furrowed even tighter.

In a daze, he seemed to return to that battlefield.

The world was dark.

Endless snowflakes drifted downward alongside countless multicolored lights.

Everything around him was silent.

Only the howling wind remained.

The fierce roar of the storm...

Sound...

Wait!

Ah Hui’s eyes suddenly snapped open.

He remembered.

”Brother Mo!”

”I heard something!”

”Within the sound of the blizzard, I heard someone softly humming.”

”The voice was gentle.”

”Very, very gentle.”

”Mm.”

”I understand now.”

Chen Mo nodded.

Then he turned toward Hu Chengliang and Zhou Yichuan.

Hu Chengliang stepped forward first.

His gaze swept across all the trainers in the room, lingering briefly on Xiao You, Qiao Cheng, and Wu Zhenghao before he spoke.

”I hope all of you can keep what you’re about to hear confidential.”

Everyone nodded immediately.

At the same time, Zhou Yichuan took a lightweight laptop out of his bag and placed it on the table.

He opened a video file.

The next moment—

Everyone saw a mysterious humanoid Pokémon floating in the air.

It had pale green hair patterned like musical staff markings and emerald-like eyes.

”Meloo~”

The Pokémon spoke softly.

Its voice sounded like mountain spring water flowing through a valley.

Pure.

Beautiful.

Enchanting.

Half-sitting up in bed, Ah Hui’s eyes widened.

”That’s the voice!”

At the same time, Chen Mo smiled and explained,

”This Pokémon is called Meloetta.”

”Judging from its appearance, you can probably tell that it has a very deep connection to music and song.”

”According to the legends I know, Meloetta can influence the emotions of both humans and Pokémon through its singing.”

”The reason Ah Hui was able to achieve complete mutual understanding with Butterfree during today’s battle wasn’t solely because of their bond.”

”Meloetta also helped.”

The listeners immediately revealed expressions of realization.

So that’s what happened.

But Ah Hui still looked puzzled.

”Brother Mo, I have a question.”

”I’ve never met Meloetta before.”

”So why would it help me?”

”It wasn’t helping you.”

”It was your bond with Butterfree that activated the blessing Meloetta left behind in the stadium.”

Chen Mo replied.

”During the opening ceremony of the main tournament, Meloetta most likely arrived above the arena after being drawn by the music and the bonds between humans and Pokémon.”

Beside the laptop, Zhou Yichuan replayed the footage of Meloetta circling above the stadium and scattering its blessings.

After everyone watched in silence for a while, Chen Mo continued.

”As you can see.”

”Meloetta left its blessing upon the Pikachu Cup stage.”

A faint smile appeared on Chen Mo’s lips.

”Unlike Entei’s blessing, which was specifically bestowed upon Ah Hui and Butterfree, Meloetta’s blessing was left for all trainers participating in the tournament.”

”To put it simply—”

”As long as you stand on that stage, you have a chance to activate the blessing Meloetta left behind.”

”It isn’t permanent.”

”But it can greatly assist your future growth.”

”Ah Hui should understand that better than anyone.”

The moment those words were spoken—

Qiao Cheng, Xiao You, and Wu Zhenghao all visibly reacted.

The Pikachu Cup had already reached its final stages.

Aside from Ah Hui, who was currently hospitalized, only the three of them remained undefeated.

A chance to experience a Legendary Pokémon’s blessing.

A chance to feel what it was like to become truly one with their Pokémon.

They wanted it.

No matter what.

They absolutely wanted to experience it.

Seeing that his objective had been achieved, Chen Mo smiled.

”So do your best in the remaining matches.”

”And here’s a hint.”

”Choice goes both ways.”

”Never forget the feelings you and your Pokémon have carried together throughout your journey.”

...

Outside the hospital.

Summer evenings arrived a little later than usual.

Chen Mo, Hu Chengliang, and Zhou Yichuan walked together along the road home.

Hu Chengliang’s brows remained tightly furrowed.

His face was filled with worry.

”Xiao Mo.”

”Mm?”

”Do you think those kids can really do it?”

Hu Chengliang couldn’t help asking.

”Probably.”

Chen Mo gazed at the golden clouds glowing beneath the setting sun.

At first, Chen Mo—and everyone else—had assumed Meloetta had merely made a brief appearance at the stadium and left behind a simple blessing.

Something symbolic.

A gesture of goodwill.

Nothing more.

But during Ah Hui and Zhao Xue’er’s match, Chen Mo, whose sensitivity toward legendary auras had become increasingly sharp, immediately sensed that something was wrong.

Initially, he thought it was Entei’s power.

After all, using the Eye of Detection, Chen Mo had known from the beginning that Butterfree carried Entei’s blessing within its body.

However—

After witnessing the extraordinary synchronization between Ah Hui and Butterfree, Chen Mo realized something else was at work.

Entei’s Sacred Fire did not possess such abilities.

Once he understood that, Chen Mo immediately used the Eye of Detection again to investigate Butterfree during the battle.

As expected—

Within Butterfree’s status screen, he discovered two separate forms of energy that the system couldn’t identify.

Both were continuously influencing Butterfree.

One was obviously from Entei.

The other immediately reminded Chen Mo of the Meloetta that had once scattered blessings over the arena.

Later, recognizing that his understanding of Legendary Pokémon was still insufficient, Chen Mo sought help from a more qualified expert.

”Marshadowmon, I choose you!”

After being swindled out of ten more boxes of red Pokéblocks, Chen Mo still failed to obtain the exact answer he wanted.

The reason was simple.

Although Marshadow and Meloetta were both Mythical Pokémon, they weren’t particularly familiar with one another.

Even Marshadow couldn’t identify the source of the energy based solely on a faint aura.

Still—

As payment for the ten boxes of Pokéblocks, Marshadow did provide one important piece of information.

Some Legendary Pokémon indeed possessed the ability to bestow blessings upon humans and Pokémon they acknowledged.

However—

Such blessings generally required a living vessel.

Just like the blessing Entei granted to Butterfree.

Without a vessel, the blessing’s power would rapidly dissipate over time.

It could not remain intact for long.

Which meant—

If the mysterious energy inside Butterfree truly originated from Meloetta’s blessing...

Then things were far more complicated than they appeared.

In short—

For a blessing of that magnitude to remain preserved for so long and still be activated by Ah Hui and Butterfree, Meloetta must have paid an enormous price.

And Chen Mo wanted to know why.

That was why he had specifically explained Meloetta’s existence in Ah Hui’s hospital room and deliberately planted those hints.

His goal was simple.

He wanted someone to trigger Meloetta’s blessing again.

And if possible—

To lure Meloetta back.

Then he could finally ask the Mythical Pokémon directly.

”For now...”

”We can only place our hopes on those three.”

Chen Mo murmured while staring at the sky.

Zhou Yichuan sighed softly.

”What a shame.”
