Absurd!

Anyone hearing this news for the first time would certainly feel this way.

A player suing an award for infringing on their portrait rights?

And the award... indeed infringed on this player’s portrait rights!

It’s simply outrageous!

In fact, violations of portrait rights are common and frequent.

And often misunderstood.

But Lu Yang’s accusation is very clear.

Firstly, French Football and the Golden Ball Award are not nonprofit projects of nonprofit organizations.

Simply put, French Football aims to profit from the Golden Ball Award.

How they earn is their business, but they intend to profit anyway.

In this case, they can’t just use a player’s image freely.

This is different from photos taken of Lu Yang during matches and then used.

Of course, because the issue was escalated, French Football immediately responded, claiming they have Serie A’s authorization.

They can use Lu Yang’s player portrait.

Every year, various organizations provide funds to leagues and teams for such consumption, which is standard practice.

But where French Football went wrong is that the photo they chose of Lu Yang... wasn’t his player portrait.

It was a personal photo of Sofia sharing a picture of herself and Lu Yang before attending the Oscars.

This is Sofia’s personal photo.

It can be shared and appreciated on social platforms but cannot be used for commercial profit purposes without permission.

Sofia is very popular, and Lu Yang looks quite handsome in a suit in that photo.

French Football’s friends choosing a highly exposed photo is understandable.

Not only was the player photo not used, but using a personal photo is not an issue either.

Some stars use personal photos as well.

But... no one has ever been so ”shameless.”

To actually sue the Golden Ball Award.

This...

From a procedural standpoint, there’s really no issue.

The public is in an uproar.

Lu Yang is really daring!

And the Golden Ball Award has truly been sued!

This case doesn’t even need a trial; the outcome is crystal clear.

The key point is that Lu Yang has already consulted with Europe’s famous legal team.

A considerable consultation fee has been paid.

This obviously isn’t just for show.

This is aiming to sue, and to win.

French Football is filled with countless expletives inside.

Is Lu Yang really a dog?

Biting everyone?

And not letting go after biting?

You’ve been given thirtieth place, what more do you want?

Even if you’re not satisfied, just say so.

You didn’t say anything and then just sent a lawyer’s letter, who taught you this?

Mainland entertainment circle?

Damn!

Lu Yang’s demands are simple.

Firstly, the Golden Ball Award must apologize publicly for this issue.

Secondly, pay compensation!

The amount isn’t much, but it’s at least several hundred thousand euros.

The rights of European celebrities are quite valuable.

If Lu Yang insists, he could even get more compensation.

Those lawyers are formidable.

This farce didn’t last long.

The Golden Ball Award quickly reached a private settlement with Lu Yang, compensating him for his losses.

They also publicly stated that they used his personal photo without his consent, infringing on his portrait rights and so on.

It seems the problem was resolved.

But this was based on the complete fallout between Lu Yang and the Golden Ball Award.

The Golden Ball Award doesn’t want any connection with Lu Yang anymore; he has been completely excluded from them.

The previous Golden Ball Award ranking list was also changed.

Thirtieth place became blank.

No portrait, no name, but with league information and some basic data.

Those in the know can confirm that this is Lu Yang.

But those who don’t know would have no clue.

This is the Golden Ball Award’s counterattack after being ”bitten by a dog.”

Using their influence to make Lu Yang invisible.

And due to this incident, people realized just how brave Lu Yang is.

This year’s Golden Ball Award saw a sharp increase in notoriety due to this series of events, even trending outside traditional circles.

Benefiting from this was Izalelt.

Because he became Mr. Golden Ball at the most widely publicized Golden Ball Award.

Lu Yang also became a bigger news sensation than even Robben, who narrowly missed the Golden Ball Award.

But this newfound fame was not good for the Golden Ball Award committee.

The reputation and fairness built up by the Golden Ball Award over decades began to be questioned due to this selection.

Very few things in the world can withstand scrutiny.

Once such questioning begins,

within three to five years, or even ten years, if not handled well, this award is bound to fall from grace.

And the Golden Ball Award is not irreplaceable.

...

On December 2, the third round of the Italian Cup began.

San Remo did not participate.

Because as last year’s Italian Cup champions, they can wait until the fourth round to compete, which is good news.

But with their early advancement in the Champions League, it’s not entirely good news.

Because then, San Remo will have to compete on three fronts.

This didn’t align with San Remo’s initial expectations.

This season, San Remo aimed to focus on just one front, the league.

The Champions League was a play-it-by-ear approach; advancing would be seen as a bonus.

But the Italian Cup...

San Remo’s coaching staff unanimously agreed that in the fourth round of the Italian Cup, the team should field a backup lineup.

Losing the game would be the best choice.

If they don’t lose, then deliberately losing from the fifth round onwards becomes difficult.

After all... the team that initially shouted about respecting the Italian Cup was San Remo.

If they take these matches lightly later on, it would not only lessen their legendary status but also create extra work for Martivini.
