I AM the Football Star

There are many players with balanced left and right feet, but true ambidexterity is rare, because this not only requires balance but also means both feet are strong.

This free kick is undoubtedly taken by Lu Yang.

Not because Lu Yang needs three more goals, but because this type of ball should be Lu Yang’s responsibility.

The angle for this free kick goal is relatively small.

Sassuolo’s goalkeeper is confident to face this challenge, adjusting the wall to the right to block the far corner.

He faces Lu Yang head-on.

If the goalkeeper relies more on the wall, he might let the wall block the near corner and himself go for the far corner.

But the distance to the near corner is too short, if the ball flies over the wall, the goalkeeper has no time to react.

If the wall guards the far corner, the goalkeeper might have a chance to react.

This thought process reveals the goalkeeper’s confidence.

Bang!

Lu Yang takes the free kick, curling the shot.

A curved ball.

Aiming for the far corner!

The ball successfully flies over the wall, then descends towards the goal.

Sassuolo’s goalkeeper dives to save, slapping the ball.

But he doesn’t show a joyful expression.

Because the ball he slapped hit the side netting.

From inside the goal, hitting the side net.

The ball is in.

He managed to touch it, but didn’t fully save it.

His confidence was defeated by Lu Yang’s foot.

Lu Yang looked at Sassuolo’s goalkeeper and found him interesting.

A goalkeeper like this, if he can’t become a top goalkeeper, might quickly be eliminated by Serie A teams.

Because he loves to take risks.

He has too much faith in his abilities, always wanting to challenge high difficulty.

Indeed, if he saved that free kick, it would have been thrilling.

But conversely, if he trusted the wall, fully guarding the far corner himself, and let the wall guard the near corner, Lu Yang’s free kick might never have crossed the wall.

This risky free kick setup is detrimental to the team.

Only top goalkeepers have such a high margin for error.

A stunning save in a major match can allow them to slack off for a season without being dismissed by the team.

But ordinary teams still need a more reliable goalkeeper.

Of course, later opinions on goalkeepers also changed.

Some strong teams pursuing defensive stability gradually favor goalkeepers who are not as spectacular but are steady enough.

No trend remains unchanged.

”This is Lu Yang’s eighteenth league goal; since the Golden Ball Award controversy, his form has become very good.”

”We eagerly anticipate Lu Yang’s continued performance.”

”Oh! It can’t be! Naji doesn’t want Lu Yang to steal the spotlight, he’s starting to grab attention!”

”Naji handball in the penalty area, penalty, San Remo conceded a penalty!”

”Naji really shouldn’t have, his defensive move this time is amateurish. Even Swiss players know better, hands behind back, kneeling down on one knee. Why are you spreading your hands? Playing volleyball or giving a hug?”

Less than three minutes after Lu Yang’s free kick goal, Sassuolo earned a penalty.

Their penalty taker seized the opportunity and scored.

Sassuolo 1-1 San Remo.

By the fortieth minute of the match, many people disappointingly turned off their televisions.

Because they saw that Lu Yang’s form today is not good.

Besides that free kick goal, Lu Yang had four shots in the first half, but only one was on target.

These statistics for Lu Yang are somewhat disappointing.

But the players are well aware of the situation.

Sassuolo’s home ground... watered.

This is unbelievable.

Teams focused on passing do not like watery fields, it makes the football slippery and speeds up the ball, making it hard to control.

Passing becomes more error-prone.

But similarly, this greatly increases the difficulty for attackers in dribbling, especially in the details of dribbling during breakthroughs or stopping to prepare for a shot.

The chance of mistimed shots also increases.

Sassuolo didn’t intend to win today.

They wanted a draw, sacrificing a thousand of their own at the cost of eight hundred.

From the results, their choice is wise.

Moreover, the slippery grass further affects the stability of the supporting foot during a shot, increasing difficulty.

Lu Yang is truly frustrated today.

In the last minute of the first half, Lu Yang once again got a shot opportunity.

But the ball was too slippery, his ball control was poor, and the shot was quite forced.

Almost injuring himself.

Commonly known as, pulling a muscle.

Bang!

Sassuolo’s goalkeeper saved Lu Yang’s shot this time, and Sassuolo’s center-back kicked the ball towards San Remo’s direction.

Counterattack!

Sassuolo launched a counterattack.

San Remo did not expect this Green Barça to dare to resist.

Bernulin’s acceleration was insufficient.

Naji slipped due to the wet grass, stumbled during his first acceleration, missing the best chance to intercept the opposing striker.

Bang!

The opposing striker successfully challenged Areola one-on-one, scoring a goal to help Sassuolo overtake San Remo.

Two to one!

San Remo, the situation is dire.

At this point, commentators supporting French Football, who received public relations fees from two major sports giants, began to speak out.

”Oh, San Remo was too careless! Their arrogance was punished!”

”Lu Yang squandered too many chances today; does the team not care about victory just to let him score?”

”Achieving four goals followed by a hat trick is just a legend; hopefully, Lu Yang won’t be too obsessed with statistics. Such players cannot earn true recognition of the Golden Ball Award.”
