I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 297: Chapter 213: Giant Egg (3)

But...

”...Energy disruption...”

”...The Great One has been disturbed...”

”...Don’t let these humans find it...”

”Expel the outsiders! Expel all the humans!”

His ears seemed to once again pick up the strange messages he had heard the day before yesterday in the tavern at Forest Crown Town.

His subconscious told him that there seemed to be some opportunity hidden here.

And after he leaked the information to President Rich and the others, this opportunity might slip away from them.

Moreover, just as his main body arrived nearby.

He vaguely felt a strange sound calling him to come closer.

”Gauss....”

”Gauss....”

How did it know his name?

”Gauss...” Aaliyah whispered as she leaned over to him.

”What should we do now?”

Aaliyah’s call pulled Gauss out of the strange calling voice, and he shook his head.

Only then did he realize that while he was intensely focusing on controlling the clay constructs, Aaliyah and Serdur had been waiting with him for quite a while, and they couldn’t perceive what lay beyond the black trees, so they currently had no idea what was happening.

Gauss didn’t keep anything hidden, especially regarding decisions that concerned the team’s safety, sharing the intelligence he observed through the perspective of the clay constructs with the two of them.

After a brief silence.

”Then continue controlling the clay to gather intelligence,” Aaliyah, though surprised by the existence of so many Demons behind the black trees, calmed herself and made a suggestion.

On one hand, the three of them had taken on the investigation mission; on the other hand, they harbored the thought of finding the Treasure.

Now that they had managed to get this close, how could they simply leave without at least finding out what it was?

Aaliyah’s thoughts aligned with Gauss’s.

After having the two keep watch on the surroundings, Gauss continued controlling the clay constructs as they crawled forward.

He dared not let them move too quickly.

Since the surrounding creatures remained relatively quiet, moving quickly would undoubtedly be too conspicuous.

Moreover, as they moved closer to the center, the number of constructs became fewer.

In this forested area, ordinary constructs didn’t seem to hold high status, staying only at the outermost edges, followed by ordinary Tree Demons, three of which were perched on the Tree Demons with pure white special constructs, and three gigantic Tree Demons.

Some Tree Demons noticed these two slowly moving little creatures, nudging them with their branch-like arms, but after finding nothing unusual, they paid no more attention.

Finally, the clay constructs approached the center of the forest.

In the middle of three gigantic Tree Demons, there was a depression in the ground.

The depression did not contain soil, but rather was filled with a crystal-clear green pool.

The pool was still and unruffled, seemingly endlessly absorbing the green glow emitted by the surrounding moss and the energy flowing from all the Demons present.

In the process, it emitted a special Energy Field.

And in the center of the pool, something quietly floated.

The object was about a meter high, and due to the distance and lighting, it wasn’t very clear, but one could vaguely discern it was a completely white, strangely luminous giant egg.

And... it was pulsating slowly.

It was alive!

”What is that?” Gauss instinctively murmured.

Even though he was only spying through the clay constructs’ vision and not personally present, that scene still made his heart race uncontrollably.

His heart seemed to beat in unison with the pulsating of the giant egg.
