I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 266: Chapter 206:

Despite holding great expectations for Gauss’ team, the magical phenomenon still left the young man from the remote village dumbstruck.

The completely vanished Gauss moved towards the three goblins stationed as scouts on the clearing.

A nimble short blade appeared in his hand.

Under the invisibility of the scale powder butterfly, the three goblins showed no reaction until he was right in front of them.

Only one goblin cast a glance in Gauss’ direction, but after seeing nothing in the air, it quickly withdrew its gaze.

The majority of creatures, even humans, instinctively trust what their eyes see.

So, even though the scale powder butterfly can only provide visual invisibility, the ability is actually stronger than imagined.

Gauss glanced at the positions of the three goblins.

He exerted strength with his feet, and his body instantly vanished from its original spot.

And as the short blade in his hand flicked swiftly,

vivid crimson blood flowers suddenly blossomed at the throats of the three goblins.

Before they could make any sounds, their heads were cut off in their confusion.

After silently and seamlessly dealing with the goblin scouts,

Gauss then looked towards the cave.

The environment within the cave was even worse than outside, with a layer of urine and feces underfoot.

Goblins are such dirty creatures that, even if you manage to kill them, they can disgust you in various ways.

Therefore, many professionals are reluctant to take on goblin-related commissions.

Imagine, after completing a campaign against some powerful elite demon, resting for days, on a whim taking a common commission usually taken by bottom adventurers to hone skills and relax.

Would you choose goblins, which are distressing at mere sight?

The vast majority would not, right?

Except for an oddball like Gauss.

At this moment, Gauss glanced down at the thick layer of fecal accumulation on the ground and smiled.

Based on the timing of the goblins’ appearance and the cave’s scale, this pile of feces indicated that there were clearly more than thirty goblins in this cave.

For an average bottom adventurer, they would likely curse.

But not him.

With these ordinary goblins, the more the merrier for him.

Besides, it was his own hometown he was tricked by, so he couldn’t say anything too harsh.

Although satisfied with the goblin count, Gauss had no intention of entering.

However, it had nothing to do with danger; he was simply too lazy to bother.

He took out the White Magic Wand from his hand.

”Toxic Gas Jet!”

”Wind Dance!”

In the blink of an eye, Gauss consecutively used two tricks.

Large masses of boiling toxic gas, affected by the airflow direction of the Wind Dance trick, surged into the cave.

The White Magic Wand enhanced the effects of these two tricks.

Gauss even felt that by studying more, he should be able to combine the effects of these two tricks into a spell similar to a 1st-level spell: Toxic Wind, instead of alternating two tricks.

However, now wasn’t the time to research trick combinations.

As the light green poisonous mist slowly filled the expansive cave, disturbances quickly arose inside.

Gauss remained unhurried.

After the White Bone Staff was upgraded to the White Magic Wand, the toxicity of the Toxic Gas Jet was greatly strengthened; if those goblins didn’t come out, they would soon be poisoned to death inside.

Saving him considerable effort.

No matter what means are used, as long as the goblins can be killed, it’s enough.

”Goblin killed *1”

...

Soon, sporadic kill notifications flashed in front of Gauss.

After the kill notifications appeared, the sound of footsteps began pouring out from inside.

As did the vicious visages of goblins.

However, before they could exit the cave to seek the enemy,

suddenly, a crimson firelight shone in the air from afar, and as the scarlet light flickered, surging fan-shaped flames burst forth suddenly, quickly igniting the land near the cave entrance, creating a thick wall of fire standing before the goblins.

”Wah wah wah!!”

A roaring fiery passage, several meters long, and the surging searing heat wave it brought formed an insurmountable barrier.

This wasn’t just any flame, but a magic-powered, extremely high-temperature blaze; even the bravest goblins dared not cross it.

”Wah wah wah wah!!”

The goblins in front of the cave hopped anxiously.

Surrounded by spreading toxic gas, and in front, an impenetrable wall of fire.

Aaliyah and her two companions arrived at the cave entrance as Gauss’ form slowly appeared beside them.

The raven ascended into the sky.

”I’ll let Aik check for any other hidden cave paths around here,” Aaliyah said cautiously to ensure nothing slipped through the cracks.

After all, this was Gauss’ hometown; it would be best if no goblins slipped through the net.

Goblins are like blights; even if only one remains, they could reproduce into an entire tribe.

”I’ll also wander around,” Serdur, seeing he had nothing else to do, prepared for a further check.

The young village man next to Gauss, through the firelight, heard the goblins’ agonized wails inside, his face full of disbelief.

So simple? The goblin tribe they regarded as a major enemy was about to be wiped out without resistance?

He hadn’t seen their past wicked and ferocious forms, only a group of desperate green-skinned little ghosts.
