Yan Qingsi suddenly felt embarrassed. ‘This…to eat or…not to eat?’

She licked the corner of her mouth. ‘This meat actually looks very delicious!’

Mrs. You’s face flashed an embarrassed look. “Your uncle is right. I didn’t carefully consider your condition, have some of these gentle dishes. This steamed perch is good too.”

Mrs. You quickly took the piece of braised pork and placed it on an empty plate beside.

Yan Qingsi smiled, “Thank you, you don’t have to take care of me. I can eat by myself.”

Mrs. You’s courtesy of treating her like a guest, made her feel a little awkward.

Although she was also a guest in the Su family and there were many Su family members present, having Mrs. Yue and Yue Tingfeng around, helped. The fact that Su family members did not treat her with such courtesy, made her feel more at ease.

The dining table was very quiet. Xia Anlan had not spoken at all while he was eating. That puzzled Yan Qingsi as when it was only the both of them eating together, it was not so silent.

Yan Qingsi kept her head down and ate the dishes. She felt today’s meal was rather stressful.

Perhaps it was too quiet during this meal that Mrs. You initiated a conversation, “Brother Lan, I kept a portion for Uncle. I will go to the hospital and deliver it to him later. You can have a good rest at home. I’ve contacted the hospital. They said that Auntie’s situation is stable and there shouldn’t be any major issues.”

Xia Anlan gave a simple reply, “Okay, sorry to trouble you!”

Mrs. You smiled and said, “You Xi specifically called today to ask about his Grandma’s condition. If it wasn’t because of his injury, he would have come with me. He said he would be coming over within the next few days when he has recovered a little…”

Xia Anlan said indifferently, “He has good intentions, but if it is inconvenient for him then forget about it.”

“That’s inappropriate, Auntie had always loved You Xi the most. He’s the only junior in the family. He ought to come back at times like these. Perhaps him being back here can help Auntie’s body to recover faster.”

After Mrs. You finished speaking, Xia Anlan’s face immediately changed and stopped eating. Mrs. You realized that she had misspoken and quickly apologized, “My apologies, I had forgotten. You Xi used to be the only one and now there is Qingsi. Qingsi, please don’t blame me. I’ve spoken without much thought. I will never forget it again. ”

Yan Qingsi smiled and kept quiet. She felt a little suffocating during this meal. She ought to quickly finish her meal and go back to her room.

“Qingsi, speaking of You Xi, both of you are about the same age. That kid is lively and playful. As cousins, both of you should meet up later. He had also opened a filming and multimedia company. If you need help, directly go look for him. You don’t have to be polite with him since he is practically your Cousin Brother.”

Yan Qingsi was poking the rice in her bowl with her chopsticks. She raised her head and replied with a smile. “Okay!”

You Xi!

Cousin Brother!

Yan Qingsi silently sneered. She had asked Yan Qingsi at the hospital today if she knew You Xi. However, Mrs. You is addressing him as her cousin now.

She looked up and observed Mrs. You. There were some wrinkles at the corner of her eyes. She should be quite pretty with an extraordinary gentle temperament when she was younger.

Mrs. You noticed that Yan Qingsi was looking at her and she looked back with a modest smile.

She was smiling very gently. However, Yan Qingsi was a very sensitive person. She felt the gentleness shown on Mrs. You’s face was not genuine.

Yan Qingsi turned around and suddenly said, “Uncle…”

Xia Anlan responded, “Yes?”

“Can I ask you a question?”

Xia Anlan smiled. “Ask away. What else do you want to ask? I thought you had finished asking all your questions in the car.”
