The servant nodded her head. “Yes, madam.”

She went upstairs and closed the door. Then Mrs. You started to lecture You Xi relentlessly. “Why do I keep asking you about that? Because I care about you. I know you all too well—if it’s not because of a race car, then it’s a girl. Tell me, why do you never learn? Pretty women are nice, but if you don’t have money or power, what woman would have their eyes on you?”

You Xi’s ears began to tingle at his mother’s words. “But don’t I possess both of that? I’m the Young Master of the You family, and I have the Xia family behind me. I was born with Heaven smiling upon me. Besides, that was an accident…”

“Accident? Who was that girl last time? Was it…Yan Qingsi?” The calmness in Mrs. You’s expression seemed a little frosty.

She removed her shoes and sat on the bed. She surveyed her surroundings, which was filled with old furnishings and decorations.

“Jeez, Mom. Why do you keep asking about that Yan Qingsi?” You Xi asked, tone impatient and weary. “I swear that I’m truly not interested in that girl… Why do you keep asking me about that?”

Mrs. You felt that she probably asked a little too much. “Just curious,” she said.

“No, Mom. You’re not this kind of person. I played around with so many small-time celebrities before, but you have never bothered about them. Why do you keep asking me about this one even though I didn’t make a move? Did she offend you? Tell me. I’ll find someone to deal with her.” When he finished saying that, You Xi suddenly sensed a murderous intent radiating from You Yi across him. This made him truly understand what making ‘one’s hair stand on hair’ meant.

You Xi felt agonized. ‘Goddammit, you told me to ask her, and I can’t make my mother suspicious. I can only ask in this way.’

Now, he could only hope that he would die a miserable death after the call ends.

F*ck. He really wanted him to die.

At the moment, You Xi truly did not know how long he could live. His life could not be insured after meeting this terrifying devil uncle.

A shallow smile crossed Mrs. You’s face when she heard her son’s reply. “Don’t fret about it anymore. You’ll know when you come over in a few days.”

“What do you mean I’ll know when I come over in a few days?” You Xi threw the words out carelessly after Mrs. You said that, not thinking too much about it. “Don’t tell me you’re with her now, with the way you keep asking me about Yan Qingsi.”

The look in You Yi’s eyes shifted. His eyes narrowed; questions flashed across his brain.

On Mrs. You’s end of the phone, she went silent for a while. You Xi was happy. “Wow. Mom, don’t tell me that I was right!”

Mrs. You did not confirm if he was right nor wrong. “Alright, I won’t talk to you any longer,” she said in a tired voice. “I just came back from the hospital and I didn’t sleep the whole night. My head hurts right now. I need to sleep.”

“Eh, Mom, Mom…just tell me. Did I guess correctly?” You Xi asked. “Mom…Mom…”

“Okay, my son. My head really hurts now. I’m hanging up.”

“Mom, Mom…” You Xi called for his mother, but she hung up anyway.

You Xi’s expression went blank at the sight of his darkening phone screen. “Uncle…you see…”

He felt that he did not manage to ask much. He did not know if his second uncle would really kill him this time.

You Xi did not finish his sentence when he noticed that his uncle’s expression darkened so much that it was almost cloudy. You Xi kept trembling at the sight, and his heart pounded hard against his chest. It was all because his mother! Why did she have to ask about Yan Qingsi? Why ask at all? He definitely did not dare to provoke that woman. He was so dead this time. His uncle heard everything!
