Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 926: Everyone Who Had Harmed Her, Shall Pay The Price

“The only thing that I wanted to do now and my only motivation for continuing to survive was vengeance. I can’t let my mother die so obscurely, I can’t let her carry her infamy forever. I have vowed that I must give her the life of everyone who had harmed her.” A malicious glint flashed in Yan Qingsi’s eyes when she said that.

Xia Anlan embraced Yan Qingsi in his open arms. She was headstrong, stubborn, and ruthless. She…was unlike any girls he knew.

He gently patted her back. “Uncle promises you, I will definitely get to the bottom of your mother’s death. I found both of you too late. She was the daughter of our Xia family, my sister. I didn’t manage to find her before her death. As her brother, I didn’t fulfill my responsibilities properly. I owed her at least this. I will definitely find out the truth of yesteryears. I will ensure that everyone who had harmed her, shall pay the price.”

Xia Anlan’s voice was gentle, but his eyes were extremely cold and fierce.

The only thing he could do for his sister was to find out the truth and the culprit to her murder so that she could rest in peace.

Xia Anlan closed his eyes and could almost see the little girl again, calling out ‘Brother’ vividly. She ran toward him with widely spread arms and a broad smile.

“When I was young, my mother told me, she was like a dandelion seed without any roots. Floating with the wind, never knowing where she would end up. If…she knew that I had found her family, I think…she would be very happy.”

Xia Anlan felt a sharp pain in his chest. He touched Yan Qingsi’s face and said, “Yes. If she knew her daughter was so outstanding, she would have been very happy.”

Yan Qingsi shook her head. “No, she probably won’t. When I was little, she used to tell me to grow up to be an honest and kind person, but I failed to do that. I don’t want to hide it from you. I am not a good person. I have done a lot of bad things. There is a reason why so many people hate me.”

“In the past, you had no choice. If you want to survive, you have to be more ruthless than others. In the future…I won’t let you live such a hard life again. The Xia family can protect you for the rest of your life.”

Yan Qingsi jeered at herself while spreading her hands, and said, “If you had looked through my personal information, then you should also be aware that I probably…don’t qualify to be an aristocrat’s beloved daughter.”

“You don’t need to change anything, just be yourself. You are fine.”

The secretary came over with a phone and whispered, “Sir, Old Mister is on the line.”

Xia Anlan took the phone. “Hello, Father.”

Grandpa Xia said anxiously, “Anlan, your mother was sent to the emergency room. Anlan, hurry up… Quickly bring her over!”

Xia Anlan’s face changed, “Okay, I understand. We will set off immediately. Tell the doctors that they must rescue my mother and keep her alive until we arrive. Tell Mother that I have found her granddaughter…”

Xia Anlan hung up before he could manage to explain further to Grandpa Xia. He then said to Yan Qingsi, “Qingsi, we must rush to Rong City now. Your grandma was sent to the emergency room again. Her biggest heartache and the most remorseful matter for her all these years was your mother. That matter was about to become her inner demons. Perhaps, she will recover slightly when she meets you.”

Yan Qingsi’s eyes widened in surprise, “N-now?”

“Yes, now. I know that your body has not recovered yet, but…if you don’t give your grandma something to live for, I’m afraid she would…”

Yan Qingsi quickly shook her head, “That’s not what I meant, my body is fine. I-I’ll go change now.”
