Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Chapter 298: Chapter 294: A Little Hungry

The horizon brightens, revealing a pale yellow light casting a hue onto the stark white city, bringing a hint of vitality, at least warmth can be felt.

”Boss, next time you plan an operation like this, give us a heads up at least. At least let us have some preparation...”

Lin Xiuyu looked at the disheveled Zhong Jueqing, whose clothes were in tatters and walking unsteadily, and said.

Zhong Jueqing took the black pill handed over by Cai Jing, placed it in his mouth, and calmly said, ”I met him last night.”

Lin Xiuyu raised an eyebrow and asked, ”Who?”

They still didn’t know the specifics of what had happened, only that Zhong Jueqing had ventured alone into the sea of undead last night, causing quite a stir, and subsequently issued a series of new directives that could affect the situation’s outcome.

Zhong Jueqing smiled and said, ”Su Changxing.”

Lin Xiuyu was visibly surprised, ”You mean ’Self-heating Meal’?”

Zhong Jueqing nodded and said, ”That’s him, he indeed is a powerful Extraordinary, stronger than we anticipated, it feels like he’s on a level above our other Extraordinaries.”

Lin Xiuyu’s face turned serious and continued:

”It seems somewhat illogical... If he were the first person to become an Extraordinary, it would make more sense.”

Zhong Jueqing, not too bothered, shifted the topic:

”Our goal now is to find a way to destroy the Energy Station’s core before the large-scale outbreak of zombies.”

Cai Jing stopped writing and looked up, ”Can this stop the outbreak?”

Zhong Jueqing shook his head and said, ”Probably not, but at least it can alleviate... However, given the current circumstances, the area around the Energy Station is extremely dangerous; ordinary people cannot even approach.”

”Notify the exploration team, if anything seems amiss, they can retreat first, then assemble those Extraordinaries into an exploration team to give it a try.”

Lin Xiuyu pondered for a moment and said, ”If it’s truly like this, we probably need to inform Chenxi and other organizations, and gather more Extraordinaries.”

The Extraordinaries were a scarce resource, relying solely on their Security Bureau’s Extraordinaries might not suffice to accomplish this great task.

”Contact them first; under such circumstances, no one would refuse cooperation.”

Zhong Jueqing nodded, lit a cigarette with a snap:

”Among the Hunters, there’s an extremely powerful Extraordinary, I likely can’t match her, she presumably won’t stand idly by... Make preparations for both scenarios, we must fight the Hunters to the end.”

Though their numbers far outpaced the Hunters, the challenges they faced were not just the Hunters, but also the endless zombies.

Lin Xiuyu sighed, ”These Hunters are elusive; if only we could locate their base during the day.”

Cai Jing thought for a moment and said, ”Wasn’t there news that Su Changxing and his group had already eliminated a Hunter’s base? They should have a way to track these Hunters.”

They had quite a few informants in many gathering places, able to collect some additional information.

Zhong Jueqing exhaled a cloud of smoke, saying slowly, ”This shows that his stance is particularly important... I believe he’s a person worthy of trust.”

Lin Xiuyu touched his chin and said:

”Is he interested in joining us? Boss, I trust your judgment, but betting on such a person might be too rash.”

Zhong Jueqing stood up, straightening his coat, and said:

”There’s no choice, the situation is as it is. I even feel he’s not like a fresh college graduate, his mind is exceptionally precise, meticulous.”

”Get ready to head out, let’s go check the situation over there.”

A night has passed.

Zhu Xin Xue still appeared energetic, she rushed forward, swinging a stick to send a zombie’s brain flying afar, like playing baseball.

Su Changxing saw this and praised, ”Not bad; this is a deeper utilization of your ability, targeting specific enemy parts for separation.”

Zhu Xin Xue’s eyes glinted a faint blue as she displayed a satisfied expression:

”Of course, I’m a genius. Soon my brother won’t be a match for me.”

Zhu Wenwu walking beside Su Changxing responded irritably, ”Talk when you become an Extraordinary, right now you’re not even at the level of the most ordinary Hunter.”

His injuries hadn’t fully healed yet; the peculiar abdominal wound was only halfway healed, even with the Totem’s treatment.

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said, ”I do think your sister could surpass you, quickly, if she becomes an Extraordinary.”

Zhu Wenwu raised his Steel Sword with a smile, ”If that’s the case, that’d be the best.”

They attracted a large number of zombies due to their sizable group, slowing their pace but remaining relatively at ease.

Tao Yi led at the front, slightly weakened during the day, a drawback of ghost-like creatures, previously the ”Director” seemed also appeared closer to nighttime.

Soon, Su Changxing noticed a message from Shen Jinxuan.

Xueyue: Um, asking where is our gathering place marked on the map.

Woke up in a daze.

Shen Jinxuan found herself crouched on a dilapidated chair by the window, daylight had already arrived outside.

She realized she’d been ”sleepwalking” again.

”This time seems extraordinarily long.”

Shen Jinxuan rubbed her forehead, feeling somewhat headachey, ”Earlier I faced the undead tide at the gathering place, now I’m here... Is the personality split worsening? Also, how did I end up outside?”

She perceived the existence of another her within, yet concluded it as a personality split.

”What should I do now?”

Shen Jinxuan felt lost; she counted as having no ties, the only thing to do is survive, and to survive...

Shen Jinxuan hesitated whether to contact Su Changxing; they seemingly were merely acquaintances, at most ordinary friends.

”I could go myself; the distance here shouldn’t be too far, shouldn’t be too much of an issue...”

She silently cheered herself on, opening her phone’s map to observe her current location.

But there was a problem: she didn’t know where precisely the gathering place was.

Shen Jinxuan picked up her phone, messaging Su Changxing, timidly asking: Um, asking where is our gathering place marked on the map.

Simultaneously, her left pupil bore a hint of deep blue, curling her lips into a peculiar smile.

No reply for a long time.

”He probably has other things going on right now.”

Shen Jinxuan muttered, discovering the short sword in her pocket still there, she pulled it out for size comparison: ”This should handle zombies... also a bit hungry.”
