Chapter 262: Chapter 261: Fallen Evil

The gunfire rang out crisply, shadows spreading across Su Changxing’s face.

Su Changxing aimed the gun at the fleshy face and said, ”Have you made up your mind? If you don’t speak, I’ll take it as a refusal.”

Death cannot threaten everyone, especially not someone like the Director. Would those who have died still fear death?

Su Changxing didn’t know, as he had never died and didn’t know what death felt like.

Just as Su Changxing was about to pull the trigger.

”Alright!”

The Director immediately said, his facial expression becoming clearer, with a skin-like texture appearing: ”Is there something you need me to do? Or perhaps...”

”Boom~”

Another bullet hit the Director’s ugly, rotting face, scattering it again, leaving no trace of flesh this time, dissolving completely.

”No need.”

Su Changxing chuckled, a green glint flashing in his eyes as he put away the gun and noticed the kill notification popping up on his phone.

[Killed a Twisted Human (Extraordinary), gained thirty thousand Points, rewarded item Fallen Evil Pendant]

[Fallen Evil Pendant (B crown, Extreme Rank): A mysterious item derived from the death of an Extraordinary who manipulated the Undead. It can contain a certain number of Undead... It seems there’s already an Undead or something inside?]

A jet-black pendant with a green ring appeared out of nowhere on the ground, emitting a faint green glow. On the pendant was the detailed face of a girl.

”This looks a lot like Tao Yi.”

Su Changxing confirmed that the face on the pendant resembled Tao Yi.

This was a mysterious item born right before his eyes.

”Is this considered offering flowers to the Buddha?”

Su Changxing chuckled, picked up the pendant, and held it in his hand, noticing the sneaky aspect of the Doomsday Game. The so-called reward was originally left behind by the Director.

However, the Doomsday Game must have processed it, though it’s unclear if they charged a fee.

It’s somewhat devious to say the least.

The Deceiver’s theft doesn’t require the other party’s actual consent, it just needs that moment of mental relaxation to proceed.

In fact, when Su Changxing said ”let’s make a deal,” he was already initiating the theft.

The Director didn’t have the slightest awareness of this either.

Of course, this was also because he was nearly obliterated by Su Changxing.

[Pastoral Spirit: Shepherds the Undead, can manipulate, create, and alter deceased souls, a bane to ghostly creatures. This ability is restricted for some reason.]

The information provided on the phone was extremely brief, offering little use.

After the Director’s death, the surrounding Evil Spirits did not disappear; instead, they wandered through the corridors, lacking any intelligence, like puppets.

”Come here.”

Su Changxing looked around, waved one hand, and these Evil Spirits, as if pulled by some force, came before Su Changxing, forming a long line, floating.

There were over a dozen, each with different appearances upon close inspection, with varying strengths. The stronger Evil Spirits were equivalent to Tier Nine Extraordinaries, while the weaker ones were just stronger than ordinary people.

Next.

The bond between Su Changxing and them gradually strengthened; they moved with his thoughts, extremely convenient.

But at the same time, some low, murmuring voices appeared by his ear, the spirits of these already-dead entities whispering like children chattering to adults about their thoughts.

In theory, Su Changxing could control an infinite number of Evil Spirits, but practically speaking, just the murmuring of these over a dozen was already at the limit of what he could bear.

Subsequently, these Evil Spirits disappeared from in front of Su Changxing, and the pendant’s ”Tao Yi” eyes flashed with a ghostly green light.

After killing the Director, Su Changxing’s expression remained tense; this was all a trap set by Teng Beng for him, and it seemed the man in red wasn’t dead yet, nor had there been a notification of the task of escaping being completed.

Either assessments would be done after they left this place, or there still remained danger here.

”Hey, where are those ghostly things?”

Zhou An came over, looking around with curiosity: ”Brother Su, you can control those ghostly things.”

Su Changxing nodded decisively, ”Yes, sort of. Let’s organize and get out of here; it’s still not necessarily safe.”

Zhu Wenwu looked slightly relieved and said, ”Earlier, Old Han sent a message saying he’s already gathered the people upstairs, waiting for us.”

Soon after.

Everyone reformed into a team, searching for the stairs to the upper floors.

Su Changxing could now see other things in the corridor, some energy bodies resembling lingering souls, almost fading, which he couldn’t control either.

In some of the freshly dead bodies, he could sense will, could tug at it.

The Director had tortured these Hunters to death, seemingly to forge more powerful Evil Spirits, with a purpose and plan.

But Su Changxing didn’t have the opportunity to see the latter part of this plan.

Chang Yi followed beside Zhou An, looking bewildered, murmuring:

”Brother Zhou, was that a ghost just now? I didn’t see anything, but Brother Su seemed like a Ghost God.”

Zhou An glanced at him, thought earnestly, and said:

”From my estimation, that’s likely not a ghost. That’s also an Extraordinary; I’m unsure of the specifics... So, becoming Extraordinary is most crucial, Chang Yi, once you become an Extraordinary, I’ll make you my little brother.”

Chang Yi nodded quickly, ”Brother Zhou, it’s settled then. When I become an Extraordinary, I’ll ask you if I don’t understand anything.”

He could feel it, he was very close to becoming an Extraordinary now, especially after the horror earlier, experiencing a kind of enlightening clarity.

Zhou An displayed a self-satisfied smile, ”Ha, don’t worry, I think you’ve got potential. Just ask me anything when the time comes.”

Ye Yongqiang, who was listening, interjected, ”Ah, the hardest thing is becoming an Extraordinary, it’s too mystical, I can’t grasp it.”

Zhou An patted his shoulder and said, ”Don’t overthink it. When it’s meant to be, it’ll happen. It should be a matter of course.”

Many appeared contemplative; Su Changxing’s prowess had thoroughly shocked them, truly illustrating the meaning of ”Extraordinary.”

Their desire to become Extraordinary grew, not just for survival, but drawn by this power, much like mortals’ yearning for Immortals.

Su Changxing’s earlier actions were beyond understanding, an Immortal wouldn’t be an exaggeration.

Zhang Shun glanced at Su Changxing’s departing back, making a sly comment:

”I think I’ve gotten a sense of our situation. If this were a game, Brother Su would be a high-level expert in his fifties, and Zhou An would be a newbie in Newbie Village.”

Chang Yi pondered and asked, ”And us?”

Zhang Shun’s lips curled into a playful smile, ”Obviously, we’re the passerby without accounts, not players, or you could call us NPCs, the weakest kind.”

At this claim, everyone chuckled, unable to refute it, as it indeed made sense, albeit abstractly.
