Chapter 263: Chapter 612: Necromancer Tao Yi

The passage upwards was easy to find, located on the other side of the floor, but the iron gate had already been locked shut.

Zhu Wenwu inspected the gate lock and said:

”The material of the gate is quite strong; breaking it by force would take some effort... Any of you know how to pick a lock?”

No one answered; evidently, none of the people present had this skill.

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said, ”No need, I should be able to open it.”

Evil Spirits can partially phantomize their bodies, so opening a door wouldn’t be difficult. Besides, ghost-type creatures can pass through ordinary barriers.

The Fallen Evil Pendant has a special space that can accommodate ghost-type creatures. It’s a space that’s neither too big nor too small, where aside from the ones Su Changxing controlled, an Evil Spirit already existed.

The Evil Spirit was curled up in a ball; Su Changxing hadn’t dealt with it yet. Most low-level Evil Spirits are unintelligent beings, which can be controlled and enslaved using the ”Pastoral Spirit” ability.

Just as Su Changxing was about to let one of the Evil Spirits out to unlock the gate, he discovered that some of the original Evil Spirits had disappeared, and the connection was severed.

What was happening?

Su Changxing noticed that the Evil Spirit originally in the pendant had grown larger, its form clearer. It was a girl, seemingly... Tao Yi!

Her entire body was a ghostly black translucent color, with a faintly seductive smile at the corners of her mouth, filled with alluring desire as she devoured the Undead beside her.

The Undead merely stood there blankly, allowing Tao Yi to devour it.

”······”

Su Changxing was also clueless about what was happening—this Evil Spirit should have been formed after Tao Yi’s death—and the pendant’s creation was related to Tao Yi.

”Is this the second half of the dean’s plan? To create a powerful Evil Spirit?”

Su Changxing guessed, trying to control this Evil Spirit with ”Pastoral Spirit,” but felt a weak and immature resistance.

After a brief struggle, it submitted.

[Fallen Evil Undead: An aggregation of Evil thought, possessing a Fallen Evil body, extremely difficult to kill completely, able to resurrect with a trace of Spirituality, naturally highly growth-oriented, can strengthen by devouring ghost-type creatures.]

Undead should be a more advanced existence than Evil Ghosts, possessing a true body and capable of switching between phantom and reality.

A ghostly black figure appeared before Su Changxing, its form gradually becoming clear; it was none other than Tao Yi’s appearance.

Crystalline scales covered her cheeks, layered like armor, wearing a black pleated long skirt floating in the air, with a slight smile on her face.

This gentle smile on an Undead only evokes fear.

”Is there something here?”

Zhou An shrunk his head, looking towards where Tao Yi was, unable to see but sensing something there.

Zhu Wenwu glanced at Tao Yi, then at Su Changxing, saying, ”Is she... the person from just now?”

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said, ”Yes and no, just looks somewhat similar, but fundamentally different; it’s more of a ghost-type creature.”

”Ghost!”

Zhou An looked surprised and said, ”Different from those strange things before?”

They could all see those Evil Spirits; they were just harder to deal with.

Su Changxing nodded and said, ”Yes, this is an Undead, more advanced than the Evil Spirits from before.”

Zhou An’s face was serious, ”What should we do now; Brother Su, you can handle it, right?”

Zhu Wenwu looked at Tao Yi with a peculiar expression and said:

”I think we shouldn’t have to deal with it; it’s probably on our side.”

He realized this thing was under Su Changxing’s control, just like the previous Evil Spirits... Brother Su was truly unfathomable.

Su Changxing said seriously, ”It counts as our ghost.”

The door seemed to turn slowly as if being unlocked, emitting a clicking sound, the visible disk in the iron gate turning accordingly.

Tao Yi placed a hand on the lock, following Su Changxing’s guidance to unlock it.

Zhu Wenwu observed this scene and said, ”Unlocking should be a passive skill of ghosts; if you couldn’t see it, this scene would be quite terrifying.”

In the back, the crowd watched the iron gate slowly open by itself, revealing shocked expressions.

Ye Yongqiang muttered softly, ”This is too outrageous.”

Chang Yi, however, found it normal, ”Not too bad, just expelling ghosts, even Daoists can do it, like those from Mao Mountain.”

Ye Yongqiang looked at him in surprise, ”Have you seen one?”

Chang Yi replied naturally, ”Of course not, but it seems that Daoists might have existed, maybe they’re Extraordinary too.”

The door slowly opened.

Su Changxing led the way out, heading towards the stairs. Although there were many of them, they were quiet, without unnecessary chatter.

”Don’t wander around; do you still have your memory?”

Su Changxing suddenly said, his voice echoing in the corridor like he was speaking to someone.

Tao Yi floated at the side, a misty look flashing in her eyes but said nothing, just quietly looking ahead.

No speaking ability?

It seemed not being able to speak was normal.

This thing seemed to know to follow him, and he didn’t need to expend spiritual effort to control it. Besides Zhu Wenwu, no one else could see it.

They arrived at the third underground level; the old man and four others were already waiting here, the old man severely injured and being carried.

Qian Runwei sighed with relief upon seeing Su Changxing and the others, hurriedly walking over and saying:

”Brother Su, you finally arrived; the space above seems to still be sealed off, can’t go up, but that man in red is also up there.”

Sure enough.

Su Changxing frowned slightly and said in a deep voice, ”You and Zhu Wenwu come with me; the others stay here first.”

The situation remained somewhat bewildering.

The man in red betrayed Teng Beng, seemingly siding with the dean, but it didn’t make sense.

He had no reason to betray Teng Beng.

Was it because of Tao Yi?

Su Changxing led the way up, thinking a lot, but now he wasn’t the least bit afraid, confident he could easily kill the man in red when encountered again.

Reaching the middle of the stairs, he saw the man in red standing at the first-floor stairway entrance, the surrounding space once again beginning to distort.

The man in red bore gunshot and knife wounds, lacking blood, but with weak breath, seemingly at the end of his rope.

The man in red lifted his head, looking straight at Tao Yi, murmuring, ”Really alive, he didn’t lie to me······”

Su Changxing knew what he meant and said calmly, ”You should know she is not Tao Yi, but an Undead.”

The man in red closed his eyes and opened them again, showing a slight smile, ”This is a rebirth, a deserved rebirth, the master didn’t lie to me······”

”Swish~”

A hand pierced through his heart from behind, a ghostly black hand.

The man in red’s expression didn’t change, saying, ”Let her live on, and I’ll let you leave.”

The surrounding space began to tremble, the man in red ready to perish together.
