A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 431: Chapter 431: Seraphina Sterling’s Identity Exposed (3)

”I don’t see how this concerns you, Manager Warren. You’re no longer with Keystone Technologies. Aren’t you overstepping a bit? Besides, if you hadn’t betrayed Keystone Technologies in the first place, I wouldn’t have made this decision! You took the R&D team and left without a backward glance. I couldn’t just stand by and watch the company’s employees lose their jobs. They’ve worked here for so long; I had to give them a stable livelihood. It’s so hard to find a job these days!”

A smile remained on Chester Sykes’s face. He never imagined that he and his brother of so many years would end up talking like this, about a topic like this! After all this time, talking about Kyle Warren’s betrayal of him and the company no longer made Chester as angry as it once had. ’To each their own,’ he thought. ’You can’t force someone to stay the same forever.’ All he could do was hold true to his own convictions. That was enough.

”Even if I left, there was no need for you to cut off all software R&D out of spite. If you were really thinking about the employees, you could have worked with Hale Corporation directly or accepted their acquisition offer. You’re not good at management anyway. After being acquired by Hale Corporation, you wouldn’t have to worry about managing the company and could have focused entirely on R&D. Wouldn’t that have been great?”

Kyle Warren still wouldn’t let it go. In fact, he hadn’t reflected on his own actions in the slightest. Even now, he was brazenly criticizing Chester Sykes’s decisions!

”Keystone Technologies is the kingdom we built with our own two hands! I still remember after college graduation, neither of us had any money. We rented a tiny apartment and worked on R&D day and night. There were times we were so broke we couldn’t even afford instant noodles. We survived all of that, went through hell and back to finally establish Keystone Technologies. I just don’t want the foundation we worked so hard to build to just disappear!”

Chester Sykes’s expression was impassive. Even though Kyle Warren had betrayed him and the company, it couldn’t erase the memory of the hardships they had faced together starting out. Even though they had gone their separate ways now, even become rivals, nothing could change the fact that they had once fought side by side.

Kyle Warren fell silent. Those days held a special place in his memory as well.

”Manager Warren, isn’t it a bit unethical to be poaching our talent at our own new product launch?” Nadia Chapman, dressed in a sharp business suit, looked crisp and capable. She exuded an aura of confidence, instantly drawing everyone’s attention.

”You must be joking, Manager Chapman. Kyle was just catching up with Manager Sykes,” Justin Hale said as he walked over. ”They may not work for the same company anymore, but they’re still old classmates and friends. In the world of business, there are no permanent rivals, only permanent interests!” Compared to Kyle Warren, Justin Hale was far more relaxed. He had seen plenty of scenes like this and handled them with increasing ease.

”Well said, Mr. Hale. In business, there are only permanent interests, no permanent rivals!” Nadia Chapman replied with a smile. It was only in this moment that she truly understood Seraphina Sterling’s warning. ’This Justin Hale is no ordinary man; he absolutely cannot be underestimated.’ Keystone Technologies had previously dealt a heavy blow to Hale Corporation, causing its electronics R&D subsidiary to be all but wiped out. Any normal person would have shown up to cause a scene, so why was he so amiably attending their new product launch?

’As the saying goes, a barking dog seldom bites,’ Nadia thought. Justin Hale’s amiability was what made him truly tricky. ’I wonder if he’s planning to give us a taste of our own medicine and cause trouble for Keystone Technologies at our own launch?’ A perfectly pleasant smile fixed on her face, Nadia said, ”Since Mr. Hale has put it that way, Chester, you should have a proper chat with Manager Warren. See if there’s any chance for us to cooperate in the future! We can afford to hold a grudge, but we can’t afford to turn our backs on money, can we?”
