A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 411: Chapter 411: A Resounding Face-Slapping (7)

Seraphina Sterling was in high spirits. Even the scorching sun she despised wasn’t as glaring as usual. ’Shelby Fenton dug a hole for herself and jumped right in! People like that are a rare breed these days! I wonder if things are going as smoothly for Genevieve.’ Just as Seraphina was about to make a call, her phone rang.

”Wyatt Gallagher, what’s up?”

”Sounds like you’re in a good mood!” Wyatt Gallagher chuckled. Even through the phone, the warmth in his laugh was undeniable. ’Not like a certain someone else, who’s arrogant, domineering, and as cunning as a fox.’

”Pretty good! What’s this about?”

”I have good news and bad news. Which do you want to hear first?”

”The bad news!” ℯℯ𝘭.

”The bad news is that Sutton Jewelry didn’t go bankrupt like you expected.”

”Then is the good news that Sutton Jewelry was acquired by another company?” Seraphina Sterling’s soft voice was laced with a hint of amusement. She had already anticipated this outcome. A while back, Aiden Faulkner had already shown interest in taking over Sutton Jewelry. Sutton Jewelry was already on its last legs; how could it possibly withstand the Faulkner Group’s ruthless tactics?

’What’s more, she had deliberately goaded Aiden Faulkner back then. She publicly brought up the time he had taken things from a mall under the Sterling Group without paying, and then had also adamantly refused to license Ancient Charm Porcelain Ornaments to the Faulkner Group. As the saying goes, some fights are about pride, not prizes. With those two provocations, it would have been strange if he hadn’t gone after Sutton Jewelry with a vengeance. He had to save face somehow!’

’She’d used Aiden Faulkner as a weapon to take care of Sutton Jewelry, and he had proven to be a sharp one, taking them down directly. From now on, there would be no Sutton Jewelry in Aethelgard, only Faulkner Jewelry. The real question was whether Aiden Faulkner had the ability to actually run it. How successful could he make it? Could he restore it to Sutton Jewelry’s former glory? If not, then the Faulkner Group’s acquisition couldn’t be called a true success. Of course, that was something only time would tell.’

”You knew that already? The Faulkner Group hasn’t even made a public announcement. I thought I had a scoop! I called you the second I heard, but I didn’t think you would have already figured it out. That’s practically clairvoyant!” Wyatt Gallagher was stunned by her intellect. The news was still top secret, so she couldn’t have heard it from anyone else. The only possibility was that she had deduced it herself.

”I’ll take that as a compliment!” Seraphina Sterling was in such a good mood that she allowed herself a rare moment of playful pride. ”Thanks for calling to let me know. I’ll treat you to dinner some other time. I have to go, talk to you later!”

Seraphina Sterling went straight to the audition site for the school’s art troupe. She looked all over but couldn’t find Genevieve. After waiting for a while, she finally saw Genevieve Churchill emerge from the audition room.

”How’d it go?”

”How’d it go?”

They spoke in unison, then burst out laughing. When you spend enough time with someone, you start to develop a certain rapport.

”You have a recommendation letter from Nadia Chapman. Getting into the stock trading club is a non-issue for you! And of course, a little art troupe is no problem for me, either. Relax! You know who you’re talking to! How about we go celebrate? Grab a huge meal?” Genevieve Churchill slung an arm over Seraphina Sterling’s shoulder. Seraphina was already used to it. Genevieve had always been like this—blessed with a girl’s face but the personality of a tomboy.

”You pick the place. My treat!” Seraphina had come looking for her with the exact same thought.

”Someplace fancy! Stick with me, I already know this whole area like the back of my hand!” Genevieve Churchill said, pulling her straight off campus.
