A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 401: Chapter 401: Mr. Grant’s Mrs. Grant (Part 5)

Hearing the two words ”Mr. Grant,” Seraphina Sterling was instantly annoyed. She muttered under her breath, ”I’ve never seen anyone try to woo someone like you! Other guys send flowers, go out for meals, watch movies, and do romantic things! How come with you it just turns into threats? You’re so dense, you don’t even know how to chase a girl! Who could possibly like someone like you?”

Terrence Grant emerged from the kitchen just in time to hear Seraphina Sterling’s string of complaints. He gazed at her, now fast asleep against the sofa. ’So, to win someone over, you have to send flowers, go out to eat, watch movies, and be romantic? If you don’t do all that, no one will like you?’ Terrence Grant’s mind raced as he reflected on his missteps.

He looked again at the sleeping girl—her pale, delicate face, her sharp chin, her flushed cheeks. That faint blush against her fair skin was incredibly alluring. ’So that’s the kind of chase she likes,’ he thought. ’Looks like I need to make a plan. I can’t let my Mrs. Grant down, can I?’

The girl who’d fallen asleep right after her meal had completely forgotten she had class the next morning, and that she needed to hurry back to school.

Terrence Grant carried her directly to the guest room bed. He desperately wanted to carry this little tormentor to his own bed, but when he imagined her reaction the next morning, he abandoned the bold idea. ’You can’t be impatient when courting a wife; you have to take things slow. I already scared her once today. If I scare her again, she’ll probably run off for good, and then I’ll have to waste time finding her again. It’s just not worth it.’

Morning sunlight streamed into the room. On the soft, large bed, Seraphina Sterling had the blankets bundled up in her arms, sleeping soundly. Suddenly, her phone blared, startling her bolt upright. ’Where am I? Why aren’t I in my dorm?’ She glanced down. It was a call from Genevieve! ”Hello?”

”Seraphina Sterling! You didn’t even come back last night? What is going on? Even that peacock is back! You have class today! Do you really want to be late on the very first day of lectures?” Genevieve Churchill’s frantic voice roared through the phone. She was clearly panicking. After the last few days of military training, she had learned firsthand just how strict Aethelgard University was about punctuality. Being late was the worst possible offense.

”Don’t worry, I won’t be late! You go ahead to class!” ’The peacock is Shelby Fenton,’ she thought, ’and I absolutely cannot let her see me fail. If I’m late for my morning class today, I’ll never hear the end of it! Besides, the first period is English, which everyone takes together. I don’t want to give the professor a bad impression on the very first day!’

Seraphina Sterling threw on her clothes faster than ever before. The toiletries in the bathroom were all brand-new, but she had no time to wonder why. She just frantically got ready, grabbed her phone, and bolted out of the room.

”Eat breakfast before you leave!” Terrence Grant emerged carrying two bowls of white rice congee. The dining table was already set with several delicate side dishes and two boiled eggs. It was a very nutritious breakfast.

Seraphina Sterling froze for a second. In that instant, she suddenly felt that Terrence Grant looked more handsome than ever. Incredibly handsome, in fact. Her heart fluttered for a moment before she pushed the strange feeling aside. ”I’m going to be late! You eat it.”

”Come back. Eat first, then go. I promise you, you absolutely will not be late,” Terrence Grant said, grabbing her arm. ’She must not be eating properly,’ he thought. ’That’s why she’s so frail. I have to nurse her back to health.’

Staring at the breakfast on the table, which looked, smelled, and surely tasted perfect, Seraphina’s stomach began to growl with anticipation. Without another word, she immediately sat down at the table and began to devour the delicious meal. But with the constant thought of ’I can’t be late!’ nagging at her, she ate much faster than usual.
